It was a mistake, she thought, stopping the car in the same place where she got stuck last time. Darkness surrounded her, and the deafening silence made her feel unpleasant chills on her body. She felt like pushing the gas to the floor and running away as fast as she could, however, since she dared and came back here, she had to discover the truth. She wanted to get rid of the nightmares at all costs.
The girl took a deep breath and got out of the car. She slammed the door behind her and looked carefully at the place where she had seen the disturbing shadow last time. This time it was easier for her to see anything, since no snow was falling and the sky was clear. The moon illuminated her path, which at that moment seemed even more ominous than last time.
She turned energetically when she heard rustling coming from deep in the forest. She wanted to get closer and take a closer look, but her legs refused to obey her. Furthermore, she tried to be brave, but this attitude only made her worse.
- Alison - she heard a whisper that called her name in her dreams. It came from the exact spot she was looking at, but she was unable to see anything. Last time she saw a shadow, but now absolutely nothing appeared. She felt more and more like taking her legs by the waist and running away where the pepper grows. - Help me, Alison.
Did she really find herself on this road accidentally? She believed it less and less. She got the impression that it had all been staged, but why?
The girl put her hand in her pocket and froze when she realized there was no rosary in it. That's impossible because she never parted with it.
She carefully searched all her pockets, yet there was no trace of it.
She felt like dying. It was the rosary she had carried with her since she was born, so how come she had lost it? This rosary had guarded her and protected her from all danger.
She jumped up when someone knocked on the glass with his finger. She breathed a sigh of relief when she noticed that it was the boy who had helped her last time.
Furthermore, she got out of the car, and the brunet smiled at her impishly.
- It's you again. Why did you come back here? - he asked. The girl looked closely at his face. He was handsome, and smiling made her breath take away.
- I came back here hoping to meet you again," she replied, and he suddenly became serious and looked around. She got the impression that he had become anxious. - I want to know the truth. Ever since I got here, strange things started happening to me.
The stranger looked into her eyes and forced a smile, as if he wanted to hide something and pretend that everything was fine.
- Strange things? - He repeated, and the brunette nodded. - Like what kind of things?
- Scary, especially the nightmares I have at night. In addition, I lost my rosary, which I never part with, and I have a feeling that it is connected with this place. Why do you appear every time I am here? I won't believe it when you say you've been walking around again. I have heard many horror stories about this place, and I know that everyone died here. It's impossible for you to live in the area because this place has been isolated for many years. How did I have this way to navigate, and why am I plagued by such realistic nightmares every night? - She asked, and got the impression that the boy froze within a second. He contorted his face in an indistinct grimace, and the girl looked at him more closely. - Who are you?
The brunet lowered his gaze and sighed.
- I'm sorry I can't lie, but the truth all the more I can't tell you," he stated, then raised his face and put his hand on her shoulder. - Regardless of what happens, you can't come back here. It's dangerous, that's why leave here, or you'll bring misfortune," he added. Suddenly, a gusty wind broke, and the stranger forcibly pushed her into the car. - Alison, never come back here, do you understand?
- How do you know my name? - She asked surprised, not remembering having introduced herself to him before. - Who are you?
- I'm the person trying to help you so you don't make another mistake," he stated, then slammed the car door.
She tried to open it, but couldn't. The boy ran deeper into the woods, and the brunette screamed, trying to get out of the car. All the locks were jammed, even though the lock was not working.
How had he done it?
Again she heard the same voice calling her. This time it was sharper and sounded like a command. The gusty wind picked up, which was quite strange, since it came out of nowhere, and black clouds hung in the sky.
Without thinking any longer, she pressed the gas to the floor. She wanted to get out of this place as quickly as possible. In a matter of seconds, she was repelled by the truth. Seeing what was going on here, she was no longer going to uncover the secrets associated with this place. She didn't want to die like her predecessors.
She screamed when a black raven crashed through the windshield, leaving streaks of blood in its wake. Likewise, she was so terrified that she panicked and completely lost control of her driving. She tried to get the steering wheel under control, but it was too slippery, and she ended up driving into a ditch, hitting a tree. What saved her was that she had buckled her seat belt; otherwise she would not have made it out alive.
She was injured because the windshields broke with such a strong impact, and shards of glass were knocked into her skin. Her head hurt mercilessly, but she was conscious enough to unbuckle her seat belt and slightly drunkenly crawled out of the car.
With semi-conscious eyes, she looked around and walked over to a tree for support. Drops of blood ran down from the girl's wounded face, falling onto the white snow. Her head pulsed mercilessly, and with every bend, she felt as if she was about to explode.
In the distance, she saw a human silhouette, so she moved in that direction to ask for help. She hoped it was the boy who had helped her, so she walked slowly deeper into the forest without any fear.
- Alison, stay there! - She heard a shout, but she kept walking toward him. She was not fully conscious, so it did not reach her what he was saying. - Alison, you are wounded, and your blood is precious to him! You can't go any further! Stop!
The boy stopped running toward her and froze as she entered the depths of the forest. She still had time to hear her name, and immediately thereafter, he disappeared. Just like that, he vanished into thin air. She closed her eyes and rubbed her sore forehead, hoping it was just a hallucination caused by hitting her head.
She felt severe dizziness and would have fallen if someone hadn't caught her. With a semi-conscious look, she looked at her savior's face and remembered very well that at that moment her heart beat harder. She didn't understand why this happened, but it had nothing to do with the fact that he was unimaginably handsome.
- Alison, I've been waiting for you for so long.... - he whispered, putting his hand to the girl's wounded cheek, and that was the last thing she remembered before she passed out.
