Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

By the time she left the hospital, nothing more disturbing had happened. Alison was able to relax and get rid of the anxieties that filled her with fear every night. She was afraid to squint for fear that something bad would happen again. Every time she fell asleep, she vigorously opened her eyelids with the feeling that something was watching her. With terror in her eyes, she looked around the room, carefully observing every corner that looked suspicious at night.

She got the impression that every reflection on the wall that arranged itself into a shadow was an evil that wanted to harm her. Occasionally, she felt like crying out of helplessness, and Henry didn't help her at all. Since he showed up, she was even in a worse state. He constantly teased her and accused her of being thoughtless.

If he had explained to the girl beforehand what danger they were in, she would have gotten rid of this curiosity and never returned to that place in her life.

Forced to wait outside the hospital entrance, Henry sighed deeply and combed his fingers through his dark hair. He looked around at the people, then once again stuck his gaze on the glass door through which someone was continually passing. His attention was caught by a young girl who was standing not far from him, watching his face with curiosity in her eyes. She smiled charmingly, so the boy snorted under his breath. Unfortunately, he was not a person who was interested in flirting or romance. He had never been in love, as it was forbidden in advance.

He turned his head and breathed a sigh of relief when he spotted Alison. Likewise, he swept past the disappointed girl and, as usual, lashed out at the brunette, who from the beginning thought he was a nice guy, and turned out to be spiteful. Each time, everything backfired on her, and she got the impression that he held some kind of grudge against her.

He had a reason because in the end it all started because of her, but after all, she was not aware of anything!

- You could have used a wheelchair, rather than dragging yourself around and putting a strain on your injured leg. - Alison rolled her eyes.

- Did something bad happen that you waited a while longer? - She asked with anger in her voice, and out of the corner of his eye he glanced at the girl, who did not take her eyes off him. He pressed his lips into a narrow line, so Alison eventually parried with laughter. - She likes you. It's not a crime yet. What are you sulking about?

- That's why I loved the solitary life in the forest, and you ruined everything," he replied furiously, watching her face. - You smile as if you have a reason to do so. Remember that you released bloodthirsty beasts into the wild.

Henry incessantly accused Alison while she was afraid for her ass. The threat in the mirror looked unmistakable, and she knew perfectly well that it wasn't a nurse's joke. Something wanted to hurt her, and she didn't know what she was dealing with. Henry wouldn't tell her anything, repeating that she had to correct the mistake she had made. She didn't know the truth, and he wanted her to trust him.

- I told my grandparents that a friend would pick me up from the hospital and take me home, so get some kind of cab because my leg is hurting more and more," she spoke up after a long silence.

Henry glanced at her with his eyes.

- And where can I get a cab from? I can't do magic," he replied, to which Alison smiled mischievously.

- Think a little. - If he could tease her, why shouldn't she? - You see? There's a cab stand a piece away, so go there and ask one gentleman to drive over here," she announced, pointing her finger to where he was supposed to go. Henry made an aggrieved face and for a moment, she thought he would answer her something, but without a word, he headed in that direction.

Rubbing her frozen palms, she looked around, and her attention was caught by the man watching her. He stared at her so intensely that for a moment, she felt a shiver run through her body. She got brave and took a closer look at his figure. He was handsome. Tall, well-built, with a face too beautiful for a man. For a moment, she wondered why he seemed familiar to her, and her heart beat harder again when she realized it was him. The man she had met in the forest, who had most likely hurt her.

Seeing that she was looking at him, he did not look away at all. He crossed his arms over his chest, smiling cockily. He knew perfectly well that at that moment he looked deadly. The girl felt intimidated. A blush appeared on her cheeks, unrelated to coolness, but rather to shyness. She lowered her gaze, looking at her shoes, then raised her head to look around for Henry, but did not see him anywhere.

Her gaze was once again caught by the stranger, who winked at her accusingly. She held her breath for a moment and turned her back to him without thinking.

Just relax, she thought, putting her hand to her heart. She didn't know what was happening to her, but instead of the fear she should have felt after what he had done to her, she was fascinated by him.

Who was he, and what did he really want from her?

- Why are people so rude? - asked Henry, who unexpectedly appeared behind Alison. She turned to face him and glanced over his shoulder, but that man was no longer there. - I managed to find a cab driver who drove up to the hospital. Isn't it their duty to fulfill a customer's request? - He dabbled further on the subject, but Alison did not listen to him at all, thinking about where the handsome stranger had gone. - Are you listening to me at all? - He asked, looking at her suspiciously. - What are you looking behind?

- Behind the cab you arranged," she lied, and Henry looked back and pointed with his finger at the vehicle standing two meters away.

- Have you gone blind? - he muttered under his breath, then helped her get into the car. - People are strange creatures," he added as they got inside. The cab driver glanced in the mirror, looking at him like an idiot.

It was late in the evening when Alison decided to go to bed. Even though she had spared her leg and tried to walk little, the wound was still making itself known.

She had no idea what they had done to her, but she preferred to remain in the dark.

She turned off the light and comfortably settled down to sleep. Furthermore, she closed her eyes and snuggled her face into her pillow. The girl was already falling asleep when a disturbing noise reached her ears. She thought she heard footsteps in the room. She lifted her eyelids and, lying still, waited to see what would happen.

Likewise, she was terrified.

The footsteps quieted, and she immediately reached out, trying to light the lamp she had turned off a moment ago. Although she pressed the button, the light did not flare up. She took out her cell phone from under the pillow and shone it to see anything. She felt a cramp in her stomach as the light from the screencast an indistinct glow on the figure sitting in the darkness.

- Our time will soon come, Alison.... - pronounced the man in a whisper, rising from his seat. With a slow step, he approached the girl, and she felt fear paralyze her body at any given moment. She could not move. With wide-open eyes, she stared at the man, who, with a mocking smile on his face, leaned in front of her. From a close distance, she saw the features of his face. It was him. A handsome stranger who made her heart beat harder.

Breathing loudly, she stared at his face, and her cell phone fell out of her hand. It was a moment in which she didn't know what to do. She was so frightened that she couldn't get a word out, and yet her heart felt like jumping out of her chest.

Why was she acting like this? After all, she was in danger. He had already hurt her once. He had no good intentions toward her, so why did she want him so badly? How could it be that at this very moment she felt like kissing him?

The man put his hand to her cheek, and she calmed down and, under his touch, closed her eyes. She felt safe, yet this moment did not last long, as his hand descended to her neck. She energetically opened her eyelids and, with fear in her eyes, looked into his face, which expressed no emotion. With a blank look, he stared at the girl, pressing his hand more firmly against her neck.

- I want to do it, but something is holding me back. I would like to kill you so much, and at the same time protect you," he said quietly, and his grip loosened. He pointed his finger toward her chest, going lower and lower, and Alison felt a pleasant tingling sensation. She closed her eyelids, forgetting the danger and the words that came out of his mouth. She craved his touch so much... Currently, she thought of nothing else but to taste his lips.

The man put his hand on the back of her neck and drew her to him, greedily engulfing her lips. Without thinking, she returned the kiss, wanting the moment to last forever, however, Alison's desire was interrupted, and her head fell inertly onto the pillow.

She fell into a dream, and the handsome stranger just like that disappeared.
