Zephyr stood outside Cerulean City, glanced around to ensure no one was watching, and pulled out his airship.
"Let's go to Bill's Lighthouse first," he muttered. "I want to see that strange, big ass Pokémon. It only appeared briefly in the anime, but who knows? Maybe I'll get lucky."
He climbed aboard and set a course. "Passing by without checking would just be regretful. And there should be plenty of water Pokémon nearby to help strengthen my team."
---
The airship cut through the skies quickly. In just half a day, Zephyr reached Bill's Lighthouse. The sun blazed down, illuminating the quiet, wild beach below.
Zephyr landed and stepped onto the sand. The view was stunning—coconut trees swaying, waves lapping at the shore, and a lighthouse perched on the edge of a cliff.
"This place... it's kinda peaceful," Zephyr muttered. "Perfect for a vacation. But sadly, no time for that now."
He spotted the lighthouse in the distance but decided to avoid it. "Bill's a genius. Even Professor Oak respects him. Better not get involved unless it's necessary."
---
Zephyr set up a beach chair a little away from the lighthouse. He took out some supplies he had bought in Cerulean City—snacks, a fruit cutting board, and a few other necessities.
The money came from selling Moon Stones. He had collected a few small ones from Mt. Moon after selling a giant Moon Stone to the system. Just three tiny Moon Stones earned him 30,000 Pokédollars, more than enough to stock up.
Sitting back, Zephyr stared at the ocean. "The Pokémon world has more water than land. That means countless undiscovered water Pokémon are out there."
Opening the system interface, he tapped into the [Points Mall]. "System, any items to attract sea Pokémon?"
[Options Available:
1. Sea Vanilla: Attracts Pokémon within a 30-meter range. (500 Points)
2. Jasper Fish Grass: Attracts Magikarp and Goldeen within 300 meters. (1,000 Points)
3. Nether Water Bead: Glows in water, attracting Pokémon within 1,000 meters and charming them. (3,000 Points)]
Zephyr immediately chose the Nether Water Bead. He moved further down the beach to a quiet, narrow bay and dropped the glowing bead at the water's edge. Waves washed over it, but the bead always resurfaced.
---
Minutes passed. The bead worked. Clawitzer scuttled out of the surf, while Magikarp flopped around in the shallow water.
Zephyr reclined in his chair, watching his Pokémon work. Beside him, his Haunter floated eerily, casting Hypnosis to knock out Crabby and other prey. Muk, a shimmering purple, slithered across the sand, swallowing Magikarp whole.
The last of his team, a shiny Kakuna, did nothing but stare at him with its blank eyes.
Zephyr scowled. "Useless thing. Fine, let's try something else."
He kicked Kakuna lightly, then strapped on a Sonic Vibrator he had purchased earlier. The vibrations might accelerate its evolution. "If you don't become a shiny Beedrill soon, I'm dumping you."
Despite his irritation, the training continued. Haunter and Muk gained strength rapidly, their energy climbing steadily.
Zephyr finally retrieved the Nether Water Bead, satisfied with the progress. But just as he packed up, a deep, resounding cry echoed across the sea.
"Is that... the mysterious Pokémon?"
Even Haunter, hovering confidently moments ago, shuddered in fear.
Zephyr's eyes narrowed as he stared into the horizon. "Let's see what's out there."
