"It's a tsunami." yelled the man who came to inform the inn-keeper.
The inn-keeper immediately rushed to the hot spring that was trembling violently because of the earthquake caused by the tsunami.
"Hey you there. Run away. There's a tsunami." said the inn-keeper before rushing out to inform the rest of his guests.
"A tsunami? Now." Tina asked in horror. She was genuinely tired of all the things happening.
"First cannibals, now a tsunami. Give me a break." Koko said as he held his head.
He then bonded with his soul bat and flew up into the air. It was night time but he could see decently in the dark. He looked at the whole town and he saw everyone panicking and running around in fear but they weren't going anywhere. They were running but their panic made them stay in the midst of danger almost like they were imprisoned in the town.
He turned to the ocean and narrowed his eyes to see farther and saw that this tsunami was far from a normal tsunami. It looked familiar but he couldn't place his hand on it then he remembered the second test during Ezra's final fight.
"Lilah!" He gasped.
"What is it, Koko?" Tina asked.
"Good news, I found Lilah. Bad news, She's gonna destroy the city." Koko said.
Ezra's eyes widened, he bonded with the eagle and climbed up the inn. Once at the top, he saw the giant wave that resembled the one during the second test.
"Alba, Tina, Delilah. Get as many people as you can and leave the town or you may be caught in Lilah's attack." Ezra yelled.
The girls quickly bonded with their soul animals and dispersed to different areas to help the people escape. Delilah helped the inn keeper evacuate everyone that was in the inn, Tina helped those in the outskirts to escape and Alba helped those in the center and those at the coast to evacuate.
Ezra and Koko also helped in the evacuation and in the end, almost all the people were evacuated to the swamp near the town where they watched the distraction of their home.
As Koko and Ezra were evacuating the remainder of the citizens, a voice came from the ocean.
"Ezra Jameson, I never got the opportunity to show you my ability last time. Still wanna see it." Lilah said from the large wave.
"She's after me. Why?" Ezra asked in his head.
"I have a bad feeling about this, Ezra. She can't go through all this trouble to just have a fight with you. Come to think about it. This level of intensity is similar to the one Nova had when you fought him." the eagle said in Ezra's head.
Ezra remembered that moment when he was fighting Nova. The words he said and how the seriousness of his actions. At that moment, had Ezra not run to the others, he would have died.
"You're saying that they want to kill me?" Ezra asked.
"Yes but I don't have a strong enough reason but lets take it as that." the eagle said.
Ezra gulped as cold sweat ran down his face. The thought of being targeted didn't sit well with him because it meant that he had to kill more people.
"Koko, could you handle the last evacuations." Ezra said as he handed Koko the people he was carrying.
"Yeah, I could...don't tell me you're planning to fight her." Koko said. "Wouldn't this be falling into the enemy's clutches."
"Who exactly are our enemies, Koko?" Ezra asked in a calm but cold tone.
"I also don't know." Koko answered unable to think of a real enemy.
"Since we have no idea who is trying to disrupt our operation then any person that we know is an ally until we know their intentions." Ezra said.
He looked at the necklace and stared specifically at the words curved into it.
THE LEST FAMILY
He clenched the necklace in his left hand ran towards the coast. He ran on the roofs of the houses as fast as he could and before he reached the coast, a gust of wind blew and his sword formed in his right hand.
Water Shot: Maximum Poseidon
The wave turned to a large splash of water that shot in Ezra's direction destroying the ships at the coast and the buildings around. Ezra braced and held his sword in front of him but the water shot was so powerful that it pushed him through multiple buildings before dragging him in the ground making him cough blood.
Lilah got out of the water and looked at Ezra's motionless body on the ground.
"Long time no see, Ezra. Don't tell me that all this time apart has made you soft." Lilah said as she drew her bow.
"It's just strange. Last time you almost killed me with this ability and now I feel fine." Ezra said before he sprang to his feet. "It's strange having a bow and no arrows."
"You want to see my new toy. My beloved gave it to me and sadly he doesn't want you alive so I'm here to kill you." Lilah said with a wide grin on her face.
"Funny. Nova said something similar. I didn't know the two of you were dating." Ezra said.
"OOH, you're really gonna die." Lilah said with a wide grin on her face.
Bond: Mrs. Puff
Lilah donned herself in that same armor that Ezra knew too well. She then pulled the bow back but their was nothing in it. Then from her index finger, an arrow-sized spike formed on the bow that she shot at Ezra.
The spike was as fast as an arrow, no, it was faster but Ezra could still see it coming so he cut the spike arrow but it shattered into smaller spikes that entered his body.
"What the...?" He gasped.
He could have sworn he broke that arrow but it instead shattered upon impact an stuck into his body.
"You like my new spikes. The one I used is poisonous. But don't worry. It'll paralyze you with time making you slower till your organs die. Hope I can kill you before that happens." Lilah said with that same smile on her face.
Ezra took a deep breath.
"That could be a problem."
Ezra held his sword tightly and ran toward to Lilah at max speed and hit her with his sword but it barely left a scratch. Lilah then his gut with the bow and sent him flying. She then pointed her bow into the air and shot a spike into the air.
Ezra saw the spike go up and head directly for him. He swung his sword and cut the spike but energy from the spike was very high that it pushed him to the ground almost like it had a secondary or a knockback aspect.
He sprang up into the air and ran around Lilah. In terms of speed, he had an edge but Lilah's spike were both powerful and some were poisonous. So he had to come up with something fast.
He ran around her as she watched him closely until he vanished behind a building. Lilah immediately shot down the building but he wasn't there. He appeared behind her and was about to slash her back but he reduced the power of the attack allowing Lilah to hit him with her bow numerous times before kicking him into the air and shooting him with more knockback arrows that stuck into his body and knocked him back into a couple of buildings.
Ezra stood up again with blood flowing from his head and his mouth and nose.
"You're still alive, you are resilient but I won't fail like Nova." Lilah then cupped her hands and a large spike flew to Ezra's direction, destroying even more buildings and stabbing Ezra's left shoulder.
"Hey what are you doing? I told you we can't regenerate." the eagle asked.
"It's not me, I can't move. Damn, it the poison." Ezra answered.
"Looks like my poison is kicking in. Want another dose?" Lilah asked still with a grin on her face. Ezra knew that if he didn't do anything, he was going to die.
Lilah pulled back her bow and shot three more poison arrows into Ezra's body.
"I can't believe that you almost made me lose my first official fight. Guess I gave you high praises when you are so weak and I hate weak people."
Ezra's eyes widened but his face was still dead. He looked at Lilah who was still smiling even though she was killing a friend.
"Lilah, is this your home town?" Ezra asked.
"Huh. No, it isn't though this is where I grew up. I initially come from the north but after my mom' passing. My bastard of a father, sent me here. I hate this place, it reminds me of him. Everything about it. Even the bench he used to sit everyday and read the paper. I wonder if that geezer is dead. The last I saw him was when I was boarding the ship..."
"He is dead." Ezra said holding up the necklace.
"He told me to give you this. A gift from him."
"What were his last words?" Lilah asked her grin died as she picked up the necklace. She almost looked like she was about to tear up.
"He told me to give you and tell you that it is from you asshole of a father." Ezra said.
Lilah looked at the necklace. She read the carvings and caressed the necklace before.
~CRASH~
The necklace fell to pieces from her hand. Ezra looked at it in shock.
"God I hate that geezer. It's good that he died." she said angrily. "And for giving me that, you'll die like him along with this town."
"But we are friends." Ezra pleaded.
"We were never friends, just sparring partners." she said coldly.
