As the front door swung open, the warm sunlight streaming in illuminated the excited faces of the family waiting in the living room. Edith dropped her backpack on the floor and was immediately enveloped in a group hug by her parents and younger brother."We've missed you so much!" her mom exclaimed, holding her tightly. "How was your semester?"Edith smiled, taking a deep breath as she savored the familiar scents of home. "It was great, Mom. I'll tell you all about it later. But first, what's for lunch? I'm starving!"Her dad chuckled and ruffled her hair. "We've got your favorite – homemade spaghetti with cake bread and some crumpled eggs. Your mom's been cooking up a storm all morning."Edith's eyes lit up as she followed her family into the kitchen. The aroma of the foods she missed so bad was making her stomach growl with anticipation.As they sat down to eat, Edith's brother, Max, started peppering her with questions about college life. "Do you have a boyfriend? Are you in any cool clubs? Do you get to sleep in late every day?"Edith laughed and playfully rolled her eyes. "Max, one question at a time! And no, I don't have a boyfriend. She wasn't ready to let her family know. But I am in a photography club, and I get to sleep in a little later than I did in high school."As they finished lunch and started clearing the table, Edith's mom asked, "So, sweetie, what are your plans for the break? Do you have any fun trips or activities lined up?"Edith smiled, feeling grateful for the warm and loving welcome home. "Actually, Mom, I was thinking of just relaxing and spending time with you guys. Maybe we can go on a hike or have a family game night?"Her dad smiled, putting his arm around her shoulders. "Sounds like a perfect plan to me, kiddo. We're just happy to have you home."Delvin got home about noon. He was welcomed warmly by his younger sister,Mia and his parents. They prepared his favorite food and Mia made chocolate chips for him. They talked about college life during lunch and it felt really good to be homeDelvin's POV I was home alas;I felt very happy but I really missed Edith. I called her but she was having some family time so I decided to let her be. I couldn't stop thinking about her. It was about evening when she called me to tell me she can't sleep;she needs to see me badly. We decided to video chat and we talked for a very long time until she felt tired and slept peacefully. "She looks more beautiful when sleeping,"I admired her. I ended the call and also slept. I moved to Illinois the next day to meet my childhood buddy,Dax. He looked masculine and very handsome. We spent the day together talking and roaming. I told him about Edith and he was genuinely happy that I've found someone I want to be with. I went to his house with him to spend the night because it was late when I decided to go home. His parents were happy to see me. We played videos games the whole night and watched movies. I texted Edith that I would be busy so she shouldn't worry about me
