When Jovana arrived at the hunting location, she saw that the hunt was a much larger and more diverse social event than she had expected. On one side, there were men in hunting gear riding in the morning haze on the backs of impatient horses, puffing steam from their nostrils. On the other side, there were glamorous ladies having tea under colorful awnings, waving handkerchiefs custom-made for the occasion.
"So, this is the hunt, huh? Cold tea, meaningless conversations, and mud," Jovana muttered under her breath.
"Should I try to get you a horse to join the hunting party?" Elijah asked.
"It's tempting, but I brought a book. All I need now is a comfortable spot near a brazier, and I'm all set," Jovana answered as she hugged Elijah to say goodbye. "Have a safe hunt and good—"
