Chapter 5 - New Life, New Identify

Kaliyah stepped into the grand foyer of the mansion, her eyes scanning the opulent space. She had expected Cian to be waiting for her, but instead, she found Levi lounging on a nearby couch, a mischievous glint in his eye.

"Hey, Kaliyah," he said, his voice low and smooth. "Welcome to your new home?"

Kaliyah rolled her eyes, and asked " what's your name?"

Levi chuckled, pushing himself off the couch."I'm Levi nice to meet you"

"Wish I could say the same though" Kaliyah said.

" Haha, very funny" Levi deadpanned. "I'll show you around" Levi said and Kaliyah nodded.

As they walked through the mansion, Kaliyah couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder. The house was enormous, with lavish decorations and impeccable taste. She saw maids and guards scattered throughout the halls, all of whom nodded or bowed as she passed.

Levi introduced her to the chief maid, a stern-looking woman named Patricia, who showed her to her room. Kaliyah's eyes widened as she stepped inside. The room was huge, with a massive bed and a walk-in closet that seemed to stretch on forever.

"Wow, this is...quite something," Kaliyah said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'm not sure what's more impressive, the bed or the ego of the person who decorated this room."

Levi laughed. "Hey, don't knock it till you try it. That bed is ridiculously comfortable."

Kaliyah raised an eyebrow. "I'll take your word for it. Umm... Where is the scary looking guy?"

"You mean Cian?" Levi asked with raised eyebrows.

" I mean if he's scary guy always looking like he wants to devour souls, then yes Levi, I mean Cian". Kaliyah said and Levi chuckled and Kaliyah bit her lips again. " Hey Levi, quick question" Kaliyah said and Levi whined " ughh you ask so much questions what is it this time?"

" What's Cian's surname?" Kaliyah asked.

" What do you need that for?" Levi asked obviously running out of patience.

Kaliyah narrowed her eyes at Levi like he had just said the dumbest thing in the world. "Well excuse me for not wanting to end up in the dumpster chopped into a hundred pieces, I can't call Cian by his first name do you want me to die?" Kaliyah said dramatically.

Levi looked at her like she had grown two heads and said" Of course he wouldn't do that but anyways bus surname is Donovan."

Kaliyah scoffed inwardly and thought that name screams serial killer in a horror movie no wonder he's so ruthless.

"Thanks for your help though, Levi."

"Anytime ma'am" Levi said lifting his hands like a boy scout reciting the preamble.

Kaliyah chuckled and Levi left her to do whatever she needed to and whatnot.

As Levi left her to explore her new room, Kaliyah stepped into the walk-in closet, her eyes scanning the rows of designer dresses and shoes. There was no space for her old clothes, and for a moment, she deliberated on whether to get rid of her old clothes or just keep them.

Before she could make a decision, a maid bustled into the room. "Miss Kaliyah, I'm Jenny, a maid. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Kaliyah smiled, feeling a little overwhelmed. "Nice to meet you too, Jenny."

Jenny was beautiful with her chocolate brown hair and matching brown eyes, she looked kind too with her smiley face.

Jenny gestured to the array of clothes. "Mr. Donovan has instructed us to ensure you have everything you need. If there's anything specific you require, please don't hesitate to ask."

Kaliyah's eyes landed on a stunning red dress laid out on the bed, accompanied by silver strappy heels, a diamond tennis bracelet, a necklace, and a Birkin bag. Kaliyah's breath caught in her throat.

"What's all this?" Kaliyah asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jenny smiled. "All Mr. Donovan's orders, miss. You're to wear this to...well, I'm not entirely sure where you're going, but Mr. Donovan will be here to collect you when it's time."

Kaliyah took out one of her novels and started reading, losing track of time as the hours slipped away. As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the room, Kaliyah's stomach began to rumble, reminding her that she was getting hungry. She wondered what time dinner was, and as if the universe were listening to her thoughts, there was a soft knock on the door.

Kaliyah opened it to see Jenny standing in the hallway, a warm smile on her face. "Dinner is ready, Miss Kaliyah. Would you like to come down?"

Kaliyah slipped on her flip-flops and followed Jenny downstairs, her eyes scanning the opulent foyer as they made their way to the dining room. Inside, she found Levi and another man seated at the table, their faces serious as they discussed something in hushed tones.

As Kaliyah entered, they stopped talking, and Levi cleared his throat, greeting her warmly. "Hey, Kaliyah! Come join us. This is Liam, Cian's brother."

Kaliyah's eyes widened as she took in Liam's features, which were eerily similar to Cian's, except for his piercing golden eyes. Liam stood up, his smile charming, and asked, "And who is this beautiful lady?"

Levi glared at him, his expression stern. "She's for Cian. She's off-limits."

Kaliyah's heart skipped a beat as she processed Levi's words, her mind racing with questions. She tried to push the thoughts aside and focused on eating, but her appetite had vanished.

Jenny's voice interrupted her thoughts, "Please hurry up, Miss Kaliyah, so you can get ready before Mr. Donovan arrives."

After dinner, Kaliyah returned to her room, where Jenny was waiting to help her get ready. The maid was about to style Kaliyah's hair but she was shocked at the colour of Kaliyah's hair it was silverish white but Jenny just swallowed whatever she was thinking and expertly styled Kaliyah's hair, curling it into loose waves that cascaded down her back to her waist, she had very long hair. She applied a light layer of makeup, enhancing Kaliyah's natural features.

Kaliyah's hair colour has always raised questions and people called her names like a witch hence why she always wore a wig it's been a long time since anybody saw her real hair and she was a bit skeptical about going to where God knows how many people are but she decided to stop hiding it anymore if all came to worst she'd say she dyed it.

As Jenny helped Kaliyah into the stunning red dress, she couldn't help but feel like a princess. The dress hugged her curves in all the right places, and the silver strappy heels made her feel like she was walking on clouds.

Just as Kaliyah was finishing up, Jenny informed her that Cian had arrived. Kaliyah's heart skipped a beat as she made her way downstairs, her eyes scanning the foyer for any sign of Cian.

As she reached the bottom of the stairs, her eyes widened in horror at the scene before her.
