During Lily's checkup in the infirmary, the doctor noticed unusual physical and cognitive developments in her that were not typical for a child her age. Concerned, the doctor conducted further tests to understand the cause of these changes.
Days turned into weeks, and as the tests on Lily continued, the results became increasingly disturbing. Lily's DNA revealed an unusual combination of human and monstrous genes, explaining her miraculous survival and the monsters' attraction to her. Therefore, Lily's accelerated growth and enhanced abilities were a result of genetic modifications, which were recorded and given to Charlie, shocking him because he realized that his failed experiment with the kid had resulted in something extraordinary like a monster magnet, making him wonder if Lily's survival was a coincidence or his fault, putting more peoples lives at risk
While the shields were still up, more and more monsters were still being drawn to the base, making Charlie plan on kicking Lily out of the base for the safety of his team and everyone else in the base. He hoped that, by doing so, the attacks would stop. Arthur, after finding out about his plans, was outraged, confronting him in private by saying, "She is still a kid; you can't just abandon her like that." Charlie responded angrily, "Regardless of her age, she is still a danger to everyone around her." Additionally, "She is not our responsibility; she is a failed experiment." He screamed that out loud.
Meanwhile, the shield started to break down slowly, and monsters caved in at the base, setting everyone in panic. Questions loomed in the air, as though everyone at the base was reading Lily's thoughts. Soon enough, the monsters were tearing up the place like a playground, playing with the lives of everyone present.
