Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Variant Of Power

Marcus strolled through the quiet streets, enjoying the brief moment of peace. But his calm was shattered when a sudden flash of light erupted behind him. He froze, sensing an ominous presence.

"Hello there," a voice called out, smooth yet menacing.

Marcus spun around, his eyes widening. "Yaxoc?!" he blurted, before shaking his head. "No... it's not you."

The figure in front of him bore an uncanny resemblance to Yaxoc but was eerily distinct. This Yaxoc variant had a worn tin pot atop his head, messy white hair, shattered glasses dangling from his collar, and a grey jacket draped over black pants. His red eyes, glowing with an unsettling light, contrasted sharply with the faint white pupils within. An energy blade, crackling with unstable power, hung from his back.

The variant smirked. "Oh, so you've already figured it out. Smart boy."

Marcus quickly activated his inter-universal device scanner, its screen lighting up with information. "Yaxoc from universe JSJHB238. Codename: Yaxoc Chikara."

"Chikara, huh?" Marcus muttered, narrowing his eyes.

Yaxoc Chikara chuckled darkly, his grin growing wider as he took a slow, deliberate step forward. "Looks like you've got some fancy tech there. Mind if I take a peek inside?" His voice dripped with mockery, each word laced with a subtle threat.

Marcus immediately dropped into a fighting stance, his fists clenched tightly. "Over my dead body. If you're here to cause trouble, I'll make sure you regret it."

Chikara stopped in his tracks, tilting his head as if amused by the challenge. Then he burst into mocking laughter, his voice echoing in the still air. "Regret? Me? Oh, that's rich. You actually think you can beat me? How adorable."

As his laughter subsided, Chikara shifted his stance, his energy blade igniting with a sharp hiss as it illuminated his figure. His grin turned predatory. "Let's see how long you can entertain me before you break."

The tension between them thickened, the air electric with anticipation as the two prepared to clash.

The fight started with Marcus unleashing a surge of energy, his fists glowing with determination.

"Alright, let's do this!" Marcus roared, charging toward Yaxoc Chikara with relentless speed.

He attacked from all sides, fists flying in a flurry of punches, but Chikara weaved through each strike with infuriating ease.

"Too slow," Chikara sneered, landing a devastating kick square to Marcus's face.

"Agh—!" Marcus stumbled, groaning in pain as he struggled to regain his footing.

Chikara gave him no time to recover. "Is this all you've got?!" he taunted, launching into a relentless barrage of strikes. Each punch and kick landed with bone-crushing force, leaving Marcus unable to block or counter.

With a final, thunderous blow, Chikara sent Marcus hurtling through the air. The impact of his strike shattered nearby buildings, the debris raining down like a storm.

Chikara teleported above Marcus in a blur, delivering a brutal front kick that slammed Marcus into the ground with a resounding crash.

Marcus groaned, unable to stand, his body battered and broken.

Chikara landed gracefully in front of him, smirking as he knelt down. "Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic," he mocked, leaning closer. "You're just like the Marcus in my world—weak and disposable. That's why I killed him."

Marcus's eyes widened in shock. "You killed him?"

Chikara raised his hand, black and white energy swirling ominously in his palm. "And I took his power for myself," he continued with a cruel grin.

"No... no way..." Marcus whispered, horror gripping him.

Chikara's voice dropped to a chilling tone. "And now, you'll be my next trophy." He began charging a deadly blast, aimed directly at Marcus.

Before the attack could land, a sudden force interrupted him. A swift blow knocked him off balance, causing the blast to dissipate.

Chikara turned, his crimson eyes narrowing as Moonlight stepped forward. "Ah, the catgirl. How quaint."

"Chikara," Moonlight growled, her piercing gaze fixed on him.

Chikara rose to his feet, dusting himself off as he smirked. "Well, well, well. Looks like I've found my next victim."

He lunged at Moonlight with alarming speed, but she grabbed his wrist mid-strike, her grip unyielding.

"You really think I'm just going to stand here and let you? Think again, greedy bastard," she spat, hurling him across the battlefield like a ragdoll.

Chikara skidded to a halt, his eyes wide with disbelief. "What the hell... What is this power?!"

Despite his shock, Chikara forced a grin. "Impressive. Looks like you're more than just a pretty face."

Moonlight's glare remained cold. "Are you seriously trying to flirt? Don't make me laugh." Her form began to shimmer, creating a series of afterimages that darted around him at dizzying speeds.

Chikara tensed, his eyes darting to track the movements. "Her afterimages... they're too fast! SS+ tier speed—no doubt."

He swung wildly, aiming for the illusions, but the real Moonlight suddenly appeared, slamming her fist into his face with tremendous force.

"GAH!" Chikara cried out as he was sent flying, crashing into a parked car with a deafening impact.

Before he could recover, Moonlight teleported above him, her voice echoing with power. "Star Magic: SUPERNOVA!"

A massive, blinding blast resembling the blazing sun erupted from her hands, hurtling toward Chikara.

His eyes widened in panic as he braced himself against the sheer force. "This can't be happening!" he thought desperately, but the supernova overwhelmed him.

The explosion lit up the sky, its shockwave rippling across the planet and shaking the ground. When the smoke cleared, there was no trace of Yaxoc Chikara.

Moonlight landed gracefully, brushing dust off her shoulders. "Guess that's the end of him," she said coolly.

She turned to Marcus, who was still struggling to move. Gently, she hoisted him up. "Don't worry. I've got you," she said, her tone softening as she carried him away to safety.

Meanwhile, Xavy perched himself on a rooftop, gazing at the chaotic cityscape below. He exhaled, leaning back casually.

"This is getting weirder every day. First, it's that edgy guy. Then, it's the power freak. What's next—someone who sucks the atmosphere away?" he muttered, shaking his head. "This place is like a circus."

Before he could dwell on his thoughts, a sudden blur charged at him. Luchis appeared, launching a sneak attack.

Xavy smirked and sidestepped effortlessly, spinning around to deliver a precise kick to her midsection.

"Gotcha," he said smugly as Luchis tumbled across the rooftop.

Luchis scrambled to her feet, glaring at him. "What the hell?! How did you—"

"Second time already?" Xavy interrupted, dusting off his hands. "Not impressed. You really thought this time would be different? Cute."

"You little brat!" Luchis snarled, her frustration boiling over.

Xavy chuckled. "Aw, is the mean lady upset?" His expression shifted to something more menacing. "Now, my turn."

In a blink, Xavy teleported behind her and grabbed her shirt.

Luchis's eyes widened in panic. "What the hell are you—"

Before she could finish, Xavy slammed her into the rooftop repeatedly, each impact shaking the structure. Finally, with a swift motion, he hurled her into the air.

Pointing a finger toward her, Xavy smirked. "Boom."

A pulse of invisible energy erupted from his fingertip, hurtling toward Luchis like a missile.

Regaining control mid-air, Luchis barely stabilized herself. "What was that?!" she thought, only for the energy blast to collide with her moments later, sending her careening backward.

Xavy teleported in front of her just as she tried to counter with a quick jab. He dodged her punch with ease, retaliating with a strike to her face that sent her reeling.

"Gah!" Luchis groaned, dazed from the blow.

As she staggered, the earlier blast struck her from above, slamming her downward with brutal force.

Xavy materialized above her again, his demeanor shifting to something cold and serious. He clenched his fist tightly, an aura of raw power radiating from him.

"Serious Punch," he said calmly, driving his fist down with immense force.

The punch connected, creating a shockwave that echoed through the sky. Luchis was sent flying miles away, vanishing into the horizon like a meteor.

Xavy landed back on the rooftop with a soft thud, dusting off his hands.

"And that's a wrap," he muttered, leaning against the edge of the roof with a satisfied grin. "Wonder who's next in line for a good smackdown?"
