Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Variant Of The Demon

It was 5 PM, and Yaxoc walked peacefully through the streets alongside Yaxocara, the city bustling with life around them.

"Yeah, I wonder what the hell is wrong with this Santino guy," Yaxocara began, crossing her arms in frustration. "He hasn't updated that game in months."

Yaxoc snorted. "He sucks. Why are you even playing his game at this point?"

"Because I've got nothing else exciting to play," she replied with a shrug.

"Fair enough," Yaxoc muttered, rolling his eyes as they continued down the sidewalk.

Suddenly, Yaxocara stopped in her tracks, her expression tense.

"Yaxoc... Do you feel that?" she asked, her voice uneasy.

"Feel what?" Yaxoc turned, confused by her sudden shift in demeanor.

"A demonic presence," she whispered, visibly shaking. "It's giving me the creeps."

Yaxoc's expression darkened. "It's not Lucius or Ogamak… Then that means—"

Before he could finish his thought, a fiery hell trident hurtled toward him.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Yaxoc shouted, narrowly dodging the attack.

The source of the attack emerged: a sinister figure stepped out from the shadows.

"Was that... a hell trident?" Yaxocara asked, her voice trembling. She quickly scanned the figure with her device. "Oh no... It's a demonic variant!"

"A what now?" Yaxoc glanced at the figure.

The variant stood tall with black hair, glowing bloody-red eyes, a black jacket, gray pants, and demonic wings. Red flames flickered around its horns, and a mask covered its mouth, exuding pure malevolence.

Yaxocara read the data aloud: "He's from Universe D3M0N. Codename: Malevolent Yaxoc."

Yaxoc glared at the variant, his brow furrowing. "Does it have the demonic essence?"

Yaxocara nodded. "Yeah, he does. And honestly, he looks like the type who could violate Alastor in a 1v1."

Yaxoc side-eyed her. "What does Alastor have to do with this? Focus on the combat."

Yaxocara shrugged. "Fine, fine."

Malevolent Yaxoc let out a low chuckle. "Oh, Alastor, you say? He's nothing but a toy for me to play with." His presence grew more ominous as he landed with enough force to make the ground quake.

Yaxoc smirked, his resolve unwavering. "Alright, then… Angelic Essence!"

Malevolent's grin widened. "Ah, an angelic essence user. How delightful."

Yaxoc pointed at him. "The power of God is on my side!"

Malevolent laughed, his wings flaring. "Let's see how long that power can keep you standing!"

The battle erupted in a flash of blinding light. Yaxoc and Malevolent traded blows, their power shaking the city. Yaxoc unleashed a barrage of attacks, only for Malevolent to dodge with supernatural speed, leaping onto a nearby building.

"Interesting," Malevolent mused.

In an instant, Yaxoc teleported behind him.

"What the—" Malevolent started, but a devastating angelic punch to his back sent him soaring skyward.

Yaxoc wasn't done. He teleported again, landing a brutal kick to Malevolent's jaw that launched him into the atmosphere.

In the vacuum of space, Malevolent recovered, looking around in shock. "Smart move," he muttered.

"Over my dead body, lil' bro," Yaxoc quipped, grabbing his shoulder before delivering a flurry of punches. A final angelic kick sent Malevolent crashing into the moon.

Malevolent staggered to his feet, groaning. "Annoying brat..."

Yaxoc appeared in front of him, not letting up. The two clashed again, exchanging ferocious blows. This time, Malevolent managed to strike Yaxoc's face and stomach, but the angelic warrior remained unaffected.

Yaxoc roared, his power surging. "HAA!" He unleashed a relentless beatdown, his speed overwhelming Malevolent.

"THIS IS THE POWER OF CHRIST!" Yaxoc shouted, finishing with a punch so powerful it created shockwaves that rippled across the solar system, sending Malevolent hurtling back to Earth.

Yaxoc followed, descending with a final, devastating kick. "HAAAAAAAAA!"

Malevolent's eyes widened in terror. "No... NO!"

The kick landed, creating an explosion that split mountains and continents. When the dust settled, Malevolent Yaxoc was gone—his body erased by the sheer force of the attack.

Yaxoc walked away, his angelic essence fading.

Meanwhile

Lucius and Ogamak watched from a distance, stunned into silence.

"That kid..." Lucius finally muttered. "He's incredibly powerful."

Ogamak shook his head, still in disbelief. "Did he just yell, 'This is the power of Christ'? I guess his faith is what makes the angelic essence so strong."

Luchis ran up to them, her face pale. "Leaders!"

Lucius glanced at her. "Did you capture the memory fragment?" Ogamak asked before being silenced by Lucius' glare.

"Too early for that," Lucius said.

Luchis took a deep breath. "Listen... You shouldn't mess with him. That kid's no ordinary memory fragment. He's a serious threat. He explained that they have infinite power... They transcend the cosmos."

Lucius scoffed. "If he's lying, you should've finished him."

Luchis shook her head, trembling. "He's not lying. He used some kind of domain ability—'Semi-Reality.' I couldn't move, and the world turned into this... eerie, inverted park."

Lucius remained skeptical. "I'll believe it when I see it. You're dismissed."

"But sir—" Luchis protested, only to freeze under Lucius' sharp glare.

"Leave. Now."

Defeated, Luchis fled.

Lucius turned back to Ogamak. "Transcending the cosmos? Sounds like nonsense to me."

Ogamak crossed his arms. "Yeah. All bark, no bite."

At 3 AM

Malevolent Yaxoc, resurrected, stood atop a rooftop, glaring at the city below. His crimson eyes burned with anger as the events of his previous defeat replayed in his mind.

"This is annoying..." he muttered, his voice laced with frustration. "I can't believe that kid destroyed me so easily."

As he clenched his fists, a figure emerged from the shadows of the rooftop—Xavy, his presence calm and unshaken.

"I see," Xavy began, a subtle smirk forming on his face. "Another resurrected soul, hmm?"

Malevolent turned sharply, his wings flaring slightly. "Who are you, puny human?"

Xavy raised his palm, a faint light radiating from it. "Not just any human," he replied. "You see, faith is something beyond the tangible. It's the confidence we place in forces unseen. Yaxoc didn't just defeat you with raw power. He did it with faith."

Malevolent narrowed his eyes. "What nonsense are you spouting?"

Xavy began pacing slowly, the light on his palm shifting and pulsating. "Faith isn't just belief; it's the foundation of strength. Yaxoc trusted completely in the angelic essence, and that trust gave him the power to overcome you. Without that faith, you'd still be here, unscathed."

Pausing, Xavy allowed the light to vanish. "But faith is also fragile," he said, his voice quieter now. "When someone you trust betrays that faith, it shatters. Like a glass of water dropped to the ground—it never looks the same, even if you try to repair it."

Malevolent tilted his head. "If you know all of this, why can't you place faith in yourself?"

Xavy stopped, folding his arms. He hesitated, then spoke with conviction. "Because I care about others. My faith isn't about me. It's about helping those around me, even when they might fail me."

Malevolent scoffed. "What happens when the people you care about abandon you? When they betray your trust?"

Xavy met Malevolent's gaze without flinching. "It'll hurt, sure. But that doesn't stop me from trying to do the right thing. It's not about what they do to me. It's about the person I choose to be."

For a moment, silence hung between them. Malevolent Yaxoc's expression softened, just slightly, as he turned and began to walk away.

Xavy watched him go, his voice carrying through the still night. "Looks like we're done here." With a flicker of light, he vanished.

Left alone on the rooftop, Malevolent Yaxoc glanced at the empty sky. He sighed, his anger cooling. "Maybe it's time I return to my universe. I have no interest in this anymore."

And with that, Malevolent Yaxoc disappeared, leaving the city to its quiet slumber once more.
