Chapter 104 - Chapter104. Apology

January 8th.

At the charity evening event.

William attended with Philip.

Also in attendance were Scarlett and Ashley.

He was dressed in a white tailored suit, with a crystal brooch on his chest. The young man had well-defined features, a pair of Rui Feng eyes, slightly elongated, with a slight upturn at the outer corners. His facial features were somewhat sharp, with a high nasal bridge and thin lips.

The well-tailored suit made the young man's legs appear even longer, and he was quite eye-catching in the crowd.

The charity evening was hosted by the Yun family, who were as renowned as the Xu family in City A.

Harrison looked at the boy in a little suit in Philip's arms and said, "This must be your son, right? He's really adorable."

Philip pinched Ashley's cheek and said to him, "Say hello to Uncle Harrison."

Ashley obediently said, "Hello, Uncle."

Harrison's gaze then fell on the woman in a long black dress behind Philip and the indifferent young man, and he said, "This must be your wife, right? Sir Philip, you've kept her too well hidden. I've never seen her in all these years."

Scarlett was wearing one of only two such dresses in the country. The black dress perfectly outlined her perfect figure, with a well-placed V-neck revealing her superior career line. She wore a diamond necklace adorned with pink diamonds on her delicate collarbone, and her slightly wavy hair fell to the collarbone, making her look far from being close to forty years old.

Philip put his arm around Scarlett's shoulder and smiled at Harrison.

"Is this the eldest son of the Xu family? He has a really good look."

Philip glanced at William behind him, maintaining a faint smile on his face, and said, "He takes after his mother in appearance." That's the only thing that can be said to pass.

William politely greeted and left the crowd, finding a seat to sit in.

The banquet was extremely lively.

Almost everyone in the circle was present.

The young man sat alone in the corner, neither drinking nor socializing, seeming a bit out of place.

"Would you like a drink?"

William looked at the girl who walked over and shook his head, saying, "No, thank you."

"May I have this dance?"

William just shook his head.

Almost as soon as she entered, Olivia was attracted by the young man in the corner. The young man had an indifferent and aloof aura, and his appearance was impeccable. His nasal bone was extremely superior. Watching him reject one girl after another aroused her desire to conquer.

She pushed away several boys who were approaching.

"Would you like a drink?"

William didn't even look up and said, "No."

Olivia sat down next to him, holding a wine glass.

William was still playing Happy Eliminating Block Games on his phone.

Olivia didn't know what he was so engrossed in playing, so she leaned over to take a look.

Happy Eliminating Block Games.

Someone was attending this kind of banquet and sitting in the corner playing Happy Eliminating Block Games.

Olivia had never seen this before.

William turned off his phone, subtly moved a little to the side, and said, "Is there something you need?"

Olivia brushed her hair and smiled sweetly at him, "May I have this dance?"

She was the type who was sweet in appearance. Today she wore a pink puffy dress with a pearl bracelet on her wrist.

"No." William said and was about to continue playing Happy Eliminating Block Games on his phone.

Olivia pretended to twist her ankle and was about to fall on William, but William dodged back.

Such a low-level trick, he had seen it for the first time.

Olivia fell to the ground, looking a bit embarrassed, and spilled wine on William.

She was also a princess spoiled by the Yun family. Looking at the indifferent young man, she felt a strange anger. She stood up, looked at William arrogantly, and said, "I was about to fall, why didn't you help me?"

William said, "Didn't you fall by yourself?"

His implied meaning was that it's none of his business if you fell by yourself.

Olivia was so angry that she was used to being flattered by men. In terms of appearance and family background, everyone let her be spoiled and coddled. William was the first person to speak to her in such a way. She pointed at William and said, "How can you speak to a girl like this?"

"You didn't fall because I pushed you, and you fell on purpose, didn't you?" William just looked at her with his arms folded, showing no expression.

Olivia was so angry that her face turned red. She questioned, "Which family does your young master belong to? How can you be so ill-mannered? Hasn't anyone taught you manners?"

"Sorry, really not."

Philip noticed the situation and apologized to the person next to him before coming over.

Olivia still maintained her politeness towards her elders and said to Philip, "Uncle Philip."

Philip nodded at her and said, "What's the matter? Olivia, did William make you angry?"

Upon hearing the name William, Olivia roughly understood that William was Philip's son who had never been brought out before.

Probably not favored.

Olivia pouted and said, "Uncle Philip, he's too ungentlemanly."

Philip didn't ask what happened, looked at William, and withdrew the faint smile from his face. He almost commanded, "Apologize to Olivia."

William looked at him, seemingly finding it somewhat amusing. He "oh" and then said, "I'm sorry, purely because I didn't want to help someone who fell on purpose."

After he finished speaking, he left.

Olivia was so angry that her face turned green, but she had to maintain a polite smile.

Philip caught up with William.

William looked at him and said, "What for?"

"I told you to apologize. Are you deaf or brainless? I was thinking of having you marry into the Yun family, and you've completely messed it up."

"Didn't I apologize? Are you hard of hearing? I said such a loud 'I'm sorry,' couldn't you hear it? Do you need me to shout it with a megaphone inside?" William finished speaking, looked at him, and said, "If you like that Olivia so much, you can consider marrying her yourself. I'm not interested."

"What nonsense are you talking about, you ill-mannered thing," Philip said.

"Yeah, born but not raised, that's indeed ill-mannered. You're right."

Philip was so angry upon hearing his words that he was about to slap him in the face.

William grabbed his hand, chuckled, and said, "Sir Philip, your hands are so precious, don't damage them."

After he finished speaking, he let go of Philip's hand.

Philip met William's gaze, somewhat furious, and said, "You ungrateful brat."

"Sir Philip is filial, not coming back to see his own mother when she's seriously ill. I should learn from you," William said, and then continued, "I came as you asked, and I did everything you said. If there's nothing else, I'm leaving. Remember what you said and have your people leave."

"Why do you think I would listen to you?"

William looked at him and said, "Aren't you still looking for someone to assist Ashley? Have your people get out, return the house to me, and I'll help you with Ashley in the future. Otherwise, I don't mind fighting you to the death."

"You're still too naive, William. You can't beat me."

"Oh." William ignored him and left on his motorcycle.

But he knew his future path would not be easy.
