Chapter 76 - Chapter76. Send Him a Brick?

"Little sister, what book are you going to buy?" The bookstore owner was a very friendly-looking man, smiling at Ellie.

Ellie said, "High school materials."

"Right behind the two shelves, take a look at what you need."

"Okay, thank you, uncle."

The shelves were neatly arranged with many materials and test papers, both for arts and sciences.

Ellie looked for a long time, and a set of materials caught her attention.

She pulled out the test paper, which was labeled as a simplified version, suitable for beginners with zero foundation.

She flipped through a few pages, and the processes inside were very detailed.

She also saw an interesting extracurricular book, "Red Fingers" by Keigo Higashino, and bought it along with the materials.

The bookstore owner said, "I'm a book seller, but my son doesn't like to read."

Ellie smiled upon hearing this and said, "Everyone has different preferences." She watched the owner take out a bag and said, "No need to bag it, I'll put it in my backpack."

"Okay."

She put six sets of materials into her backpack, and held the extracurricular book in her hand.

She was about to go home when she suddenly remembered the words she had for William today. It just so happened that it was the weekend, and he could still do a problem. She took out her phone and sent a message to William.

[Ellie]: Do you have time now? I have something to give you.

William replied to the message very quickly, almost instantly.

[William]: Where are you?

Ellie sent a location.

[William]: Wait for me.

Ellie sat outside on a chair reading a book, and she quickly became engrossed in it.

A few minutes later, a motorcycle stopped in front of her, but Ellie didn't notice.

William stepped off the motorcycle, took off his helmet, and saw Ellie sitting on the chair reading. He walked over and sat next to Ellie. He looked at the book in Ellie's hand for a while and then said, "Little prude."

Ellie only then reacted, slightly stunned, not realizing when William had arrived.

William looked at her stunned expression and said, "I didn't call you just now because I saw you were engrossed in your book."

Ellie handed him the backpack in her arms and said, "The things inside are for you."

William took the bag from her hand, which was quite heavy. Was it filled with bricks?

Why would little prude give him bricks?

Was little prude warning him to study hard or she would hit him with a brick?

William's mind was already racing with wild thoughts.

He opened the zipper and saw six sets of materials neatly lying inside.

There were no bricks.

He took out one and stared at the large "Simplified Basic Edition" for a while, then said, "Why is it the simplified basic edition?"

"You're a bit weak in the basics now, start with this, then you can do the basic version, and then the advanced version."

William said, "Didn't you say my foundation was good this afternoon?"

Ellie was silent for a while, not knowing how to speak, fearing that if she said it badly, it would hurt his confidence. He finally wanted to study, and if he didn't want to study, that would be troublesome.

She chose her words carefully and said, "It should have been good before." But she didn't think that William didn't study at all during high school and the two years of junior high school.

William said, "So where are we going now?"

Ellie shook her head: "I don't know."

"How about a milk tea shop? Teach me problems, little teacher."

Ellie agreed: "Okay."

...

Ellie held a cup of hot milk tea and sat next to him, then sat next to him reading the extracurricular book.

She flipped through a few pages and said, "Write these pages today, the problems I've circled, there are guidance for thought next to them. If you don't understand anywhere, just ask me."

"Okay."

Ellie looked down at the book, and William wrote the problems Ellie had circled for him. The two were quite harmonious.

He secretly glanced at her.

Her eyelashes were really curled.

Her lips were also red, looking very kissable.

Ellie noticed her looking at herself and said, "What's wrong?"

William withdrew his gaze and said, "Nothing."

Ellie thought he was looking at the milk tea in her hand and said, "You just bought one for me, do you want to drink it? I'll buy you one."

"No need."

"Really don't need it?"

"No need."

A few minutes later, William was still holding a cup of milk tea and starting to solve problems.

The milk tea was sweet and greasy.

He didn't like to drink it.

But drinking it with her made him not dislike it as much.

When he got to the last few problems, which were more difficult than before, he was still stuck. He looked at Ellie, who was concentrating on the problem, and decided to wait until she finished reading.

Ellie looked up at him and said, "Where?"

William pointed to the last few problems and said, "These few problems, I don't know any of them."

He listened to Ellie explain the problem, her voice was soft, very comfortable to listen to, and she was very good at guiding people's thinking.

Ellie finished explaining those two problems and said, "Do you understand?"

William nodded and said, "If I keep asking you questions in the future, will it delay your problem-solving? It seems to waste your time a bit too much."

Ellie shook her head: "No, I usually do the problems that haven't been studied yet."

William: ...

William said, "Okay." He finished speaking and said, "Have you eaten dinner tonight?"

Ellie shook her head.

William said, "I'll treat you to dinner, as a reward for the little teacher explaining problems to me." After speaking, he picked up Ellie's pink bag and put it on his back directly.

The bag looked normal on Ellie, but it looked a bit small on him, and the color of the bag was too pink, making it look a bit out of place on him.

Ellie looked at him with the bag on his back and couldn't help but laugh.

William looked back at her and said, "What's so funny?"

Ellie shook her head: "Nothing."

...

The two finished dinner and it was already late when they went back.

William sent her to the downstairs and said, "Go back quickly."

Ellie whispered, "Okay."

William suddenly remembered that he was still carrying her bag and said, "Wait a minute."

Ellie looked back at him.

William said, "I haven't returned your bag yet."

"Put the books back first, and I'll return it next time."

"Okay, goodbye, little prude."

Ellie looked at him with a pink bag on him and still felt a bit funny. She said, "Remember to do the math problems I marked for you, it's okay if you can't finish them tonight, you can do them tomorrow."

William said, "What? Are you going to check the homework, little teacher?"

Ellie said, "I think that's a good idea." After she finished speaking, she waved at him and went in.

William watched the slender figure gradually fade out of sight until it disappeared.

Soon, he saw the lights on upstairs, knowing that Ellie was home.

He received a message.

[Little Ungrateful]: I'm home.
