Chapter 73 - Chapter73. Likely, He Has Fallen for Her

Ellie finished explaining a problem to someone and noticed that William's expression didn't seem very good.

She softly asked, "Did I disturb you?"

Hearing her soft voice, the annoyance in his heart inexplicably dissipated a great deal. William replied with a "No" and continued to sleep with his head down.

Stewart was asking Ellie a question when he suddenly saw the plague god next to her raise his head.

William looked fierce, with the grumpiness of not having slept well, red blood vessels in his eyes, and his hair was a bit messy from being pressed.

Stewart felt the pressure; it seemed he had disturbed this plague god's sleep. Everyone in Class 17 knew that William almost always sat in the last row for a simple reason: it was convenient for sleeping.

He held the test paper in his hand and said to Ellie, "Ellie, thank you for the problem you just explained. I can ask the teacher about the other problems later."

Ellie responded with an "Okay," then looked at William next to her, noticing his slightly messy hair, and asked, "Did I wake you up?"

William had a face that said, "What do you think?"

He stared at Ellie, watching her glance up at him, touch her own face, and then reveal a somewhat embarrassed smile.

For some reason, it was a bit cute.

William stared at her for a while.

Ellie thought he was still angry, so she tugged at his sleeve and handed him a piece of candy.

William wasn't angry at all. He looked at the candy she offered and reached out to take it. He said, "Trying to appease me? Little prude."

"Ah?" Ellie thought he wanted her to appease him and softly said, "Don't be angry anymore."

Little prude seemed to have misunderstood his meaning.

William curved the corners of his mouth a bit, but it seemed not bad this way.

His mood inexplicably improved.

...

In the evening.

After taking a shower and feeding the cat, William lay on the bed playing a happy elimination game.

Suddenly, an idea popped into his head: Is that guy chatting with Little Prude now?

No, right.

Why should he care if he's chatting with Little Prude?

He continued to play the elimination game but found it hard to continue. Just thinking about her video chatting with someone else, smiling at someone else, made him feel quite agitated.

A few minutes later, he opened the forum and posted a question post.

"Deskmate is very good at grades and very well-behaved. Why am I upset that someone is chasing my deskmate? Why do I feel upset when someone of the opposite sex asks my deskmate questions?"

He finished asking and then exited, then sent a message to Ellie.

[William]: Picture.

[William]: Watch Coco take a bath.

In the photo, the cat was wet all over in the basin, its eyes still looking at the camera, which was somewhat amusing.

Ellie quickly replied to his message.

[Little Ungrateful]: Hahaha, so funny.

[Little Ungrateful]: What is it doing now?

William took a picture of Coco and sent it over.

[William]: Picture.

[William]: Watching me chat with you.

[William]: It likes you quite a bit.

Coco arched against William's arm, seemingly displeased that he had sent an unflattering photo of himself.

William pinched its cat face and said, "Be good, don't move around."

Coco stepped on him with one paw.

William stared at it for a while and said, "Is it because the recent meals have been too good? I feel like your face has gotten bigger."

Coco squeezed into his arms, sticking its head close to his face, seemingly saying: I haven't gained weight.

William said, "Alright, you haven't gained weight, I have."

Ellie's message came through quickly.

[Little Ungrateful]: I like it too.

Coco's big face approached the phone screen, and William pulled its head back, saying, "What are you looking at? I said I like you."

Coco seemed to understand and happily jumped off William, rolling back and forth on the bedsheet.

William immediately took a video and sent it over.

[William]: Video.

[Little Ungrateful]: What's wrong with it? I see it looks very happy.

[William]: Happy that you like it.

[Ellie]: So cute, haha.

The two chatted for a while, and William suddenly thought of that guy again. He sent a message.

[William]: Have you finished your homework?

[Little Ungrateful]: Just finished.

[Little Ungrateful]: Get some rest early, you seem to be quite sleepy during the day.

[William]: Okay.

He finished speaking and suddenly wanted to ask, what about you? Not sleeping? Or discussing problems with him?

He felt the last sentence was a bit strange, so he didn't send it.

Why is he always thinking about this issue?

It's really strange.

Looking at the good night message from Ellie, he also replied with a good night.

...

A few stars were scattered against the dark night sky.

William couldn't sleep, so he lay in bed playing games. He felt his eyes were a bit dry and rubbed them.

Just as he lay down to sleep, he suddenly thought of the question he had just asked and took out his phone from under his pillow.

He clicked on the question he had asked, and the comments were already 99+.

[Chen Zhuqi]: Brother, this is definitely liking! You are so close to her, why not make a move quickly?

[Agonie]: From the description of the original poster, I guess it's definitely a guy who has never been in love before. This is definitely liking! Listen to me, you won't be wrong, brother.

[Sun Wukong's Sister]: The crush in the student era is indeed beautiful.

[Save Me Save Me]: "My deskmate is very well-behaved and has good grades." Just from these few descriptions, I feel that you have some affection for her. Seeing the following sentences, I seem to see my past self, unsure of my own feelings, not knowing whether it is liking, and later missed the girl I liked. I can clearly tell you, this is liking.

[The Reward of the Inner Service Department is Not Ms. Xu]: Isn't this liking? Wait, is the original poster's deskmate a boy or a girl? The original poster should be a boy, right?

...

William browsed through many of those comments, and everyone was telling him.

That's liking.

William looked at his phone for a long time, not feeling sleepy at all.

Two in the morning.

Daniel received a message from William.

In the middle of a fierce team battle, his teammates saw their own Lian Po exit the game.

[William]: I have a question for you. If a girl smiles at someone else and you feel upset, why is that? Because of liking?

[Daniel]: Are you talking about Ellie?

William: ...

William stared at the message from Daniel for a while.

Is it that obvious?

[William]: I'm asking if you like her?

[Daniel]: This is definitely liking, William. This is the feeling of jealousy.

William put down his phone, and a face suddenly popped into his mind.

She was bending her apricot eyes, smiling very sweetly.

Her small face was only the size of a palm, very fair, and her apricot eyes seemed to be able to see into people's hearts.

William touched his chest.

His heart was beating very fast.

The mouth can lie, but the heart won't.

He likely has fallen for her.
