Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Plot Reversal

A loud crack was followed by a sharp cry. "Ah!!" The thin man's arm had been dislocated. Despite the pain that left him pale, the thin man was no pushover. Ignoring his captured right hand, he swung his left fist at Lin Shi and began to curse, "You're dead meat!!"

Lin Shi easily caught the punch. To him, it felt weak. This thin man, though fierce, was no match for him. Lin Shi twisted the thin man's left hand as well, then kicked him away. Without arms to break his fall, the thin man landed face-first, his teeth cutting into his lip and drawing blood.

Lying on the ground, the thin man roared, "Are you all blind?! Kill him!!" The incident happened so quickly that the men who had come with the thin man, still holding boxes, finally dropped what they were carrying and rushed forward. But they were no match for Lin Shi, who had faced countless real battles. He kicked one of them away, grabbed the fists coming at him, and pulled. The two attackers stumbled, losing their balance, and Lin Shi slammed their heads together, silencing their cries. Releasing them, the two collapsed, unconscious. Lin Shi dodged another punch effortlessly, then countered with an elbow strike, sending the attacker crumpling to the ground like a shrimp. With just a few simple moves, not even breaking a sweat, four men lay on the ground. Lin Shi had already shown mercy; if this were the apocalypse, these men would be dead.

The thin man, now turning over, realized he had bitten off more than he could chew. He thought he was dealing with a college student, an easy job, and was happy to take the money. He never expected such a tough opponent!

The last remaining man, seeing the murderous intent in Lin Shi's eyes, stepped back in fear and turned to run into the rain. Lin Shi didn't pursue him but instead walked up to the thin man, who was now sitting up. "Who sent you? Did you set the fire in my warehouse?"

Lin Shi already had a hunch, but he wanted confirmation. Even in this situation, the thin man seemed unafraid, threatening, "If you have the guts, kill me! Otherwise, I'll make sure you die!!"

A flash of killing intent passed through Lin Shi's eyes. Turning to the warehouse manager, who was standing behind him, frozen in shock, he said, "Call the police."

The order of law in peacetime saved these scoundrels. The warehouse manager, snapping out of his daze, shakily took out his phone and called the police, looking at Lin Shi with a mix of awe and fear.

Soon, the police arrived, along with an ambulance. As soon as the officers arrived, the thin man immediately accused Lin Shi, "Officer, this guy broke into my warehouse and attacked us! Both my hands are dislocated!"

"Who called the police?" Lin Shi raised his hand, "I did."

"Tell me what happened," the officer said, taking out a voice recorder.

Lin Shi explained how the men had come to his warehouse, thrown out his goods, and attacked him first. The warehouse manager confirmed Lin Shi's story. The rain-soaked boxes outside the warehouse also served as evidence. Lin Shi hadn't used excessive force; the men only had minor injuries and slight concussions, and they quickly regained consciousness. The emergency doctor reset the thin man's dislocated hands.

Lin Shi pretended to rummage through his backpack, actually pulling out a rental contract, "This is the lease agreement for this warehouse."

The officer glanced at it, confirming its validity. The situation was clear. One of the officers said, "Take these men in."

"Hold on!" Even now, the thin man remained calm, pulling out his phone and making a call. The ringtone sounded from outside the warehouse. A middle-aged man and a younger one entered. Lin Shi's eyes narrowed; he recognized one of them: Li Duoyu.

Li Duoyu, seeing Lin Shi, smiled smugly. The middle-aged man, likely Li Duoyu's father, pulled one of the officers aside, spoke a few words, and then made another call, placing the phone to the officer's ear.

Lin Shi frowned, watching the scene. Just then, his phone rang. It was the landlord, "Lin Shi, your workers almost burned down my warehouse. I'm not renting it to you anymore. I'll refund the remaining rent and deposit. Please move out as soon as possible!"

Lin Shi frowned, replying, "There's nothing in the contract about that. And the cause of the fire hasn't been investigated yet."

The landlord's voice was helpless and urgent, "Don't investigate. It's all because of you! Move out. I beg you. I'll refund this month's rent too."

The call ended, and the landlord immediately refunded 60,000 yuan. It seemed the warehouse was truly no longer available. Lin Shi had already stockpiled most of his supplies, so moving wasn't a big deal, but being forced out like this was infuriating!

Li Duoyu approached Lin Shi, sneering, and whispered, "This is what you get for crossing me. The fun has just begun. I'll make sure you can't stay in Haishi!"

Lin Shi raised an eyebrow, looking at Li Duoyu with feigned surprise, and loudly said, "What did you say? You're not your dad's biological son?!" His voice drew the attention of everyone around. People looked at Li Duoyu in shock.

Li Duoyu's face turned beet red, and he shouted, "I didn't say that! He's lying!"

Li Duoyu glared at Lin Shi, wishing he could kill him with a look. The officer, who had been pulled aside by Li Duoyu's father, returned and pointed at Lin Shi, "Take him in!"

"Hold on!" Lin Shi, unfazed, knew this was coming. From the thin man's initial confidence to the current turn of events, Lin Shi guessed there was more to their backing. But he wasn't a pushover either.

"I want to know why I'm being taken in," Lin Shi said.

The officer's expression was serious, "You are suspected of arson and assault. You must come to the station for investigation."

Li Duoyu watched Lin Shi with a triumphant smirk, clearly conveying, "This is what you get for crossing me! You're finished once you go to the station!"

Lin Shi remained calm, continuing to defend himself, "I already explained, they attacked first."

"That's just your word. It's not evidence," the officer replied sternly.

A mocking smile flashed across Lin Shi's face. "But you didn't say that just now." The officer's eyes flickered with anger.

"Their witnesses outnumber mine, and we have the right to re-investigate. Come with us now!"

"But I have evidence," Lin Shi grinned, his eyes cold, and held up his phone, "When I moved in, I installed several surveillance cameras in the warehouse. Everything you just said in the corner should be recorded!"
