Athena ended up falling asleep while still crying, even now that she's asleep you can hear sad sobs coming out her mouth and tears still rolling down her cheeks. George looked at her and sigh wondering how did things get here, he was 23 years old this year and he has thoughts that maybe moon goddess didn't assign him a mate which had happened many times in the past where someone grew old but didn't find his/her mate and he had these thoughts when he was being intimate with Aurora, his wolf tried to stop him but he was thinking as the next leader of the pack he had to have a women by his side.
He had actual omitted some details when he told Athena the story, he an Aurora had some ambiguous relationship even before she entered into a heat, Aurora is beautiful he couldn't help but to be tempted even Aurora herself assured him that she wouldn't have a mate in this lifetime. He heard the door opening and found it strange that this person had excess to the door of this house, this women was an Omega he thought maybe he was Athena's friend.
"My prince...I wanted to check on Athena but I'll come back later" the girl bowed her head and walked out as quickly as she came and didn't even give George a chance to respond.
[Morning,next day]
Athena had a dream, she found her mate but her mate was unfaithful and betrayed her and got an Omega pregnant thinking about it ,it was so painful and she didn't want to bare that pain. When she opened her eyes the first thing she saw was the face of the Alpha who had betrayed her, she came into her senses what happened was not a dream but it was real...her mate got an Omega pregnant she felt a pang of pain in her chest that she found it hard to breath, she felt suffocated George besides her noticed this and started soothing her but that made everything worse because Athena started crying and sobbing in pain. She felt like she had been place in a room with no oxygen.
"Don't cry, please don't cry I'm sorry it was a mistake" George said feeling the sadness in Athena's heart, this teared his heart apart inside his wolf was howling in sadness . He felt his eyes becoming hot he wanted to cry.
"Athena I'm sorry, I wish things would have been different" he said
"Was...it...s.o...ha..rd...to...wait...for...me?" Athena asked finding it hard to contract a sentence. "You couldn't wait for me, you found it so easy to undress an Omega and get her pregnant you didn't have me your mate in your thoughts, how would it makes me feel"
"I'm sorry" that the only thing George could utter, what was he going to say...
"Don't be sorry, but happy you are going to be a dad" Athena said laughing moving away from George's embrace but her laugh was not a happy laugh more like a mocking laugh full of pain.
"If I can turn around the clock believe me I would..."
"But you can't ok...you can't undo what you have already done, me and you...there is no chance in this lifetime" Athena said going to the bathroom.
"You can't say that, you are my mate"
"Not only will I say it but I'll do it, watch me on the full moon"
George couldn't believe what he was hearing, Athena planned to reject him on the full moon yes he had thought that she would be angry but he had expected that later on they will make peace as they were mates but never would he have thought that Athena might resort into rejecting him. He panicked and even his wolf that kept howling non stop panicked.
"Athena please listen to me..." he said following Athena, "this is not the solution, give me a chance to fix this ok I'll fix it please...Athena I'm sorry" he begged as he looked at Athena who still had her eyes red and swollen.
"How will you fix it? You know very well that the Omega is not going anywhere, you and your wolf are feeling protective of her and her feelings why? because she's expecting your cub. You thinking I didn't see you yesterday taking your hand away from mine as soon as she started crying, you think I Athena would sit and watch you care for another women as your mate, did you ever sit down and thought of the mate you haven't met how would she feel, She's more important to you even more now thar her days of giving birth are closer and you still think there is a chance between me and you, you must be crazy" Athena shouted as she dodged George's touch.
Mates can reject each other for various reasons, they can only reject the other party under the full moon hence that why Athena said 'watch me on the full moon'. Full moon is in 3 weeks which means Athena is planning on rejecting George in 3 weeks. Werewolves turn to be more protective of their cubs and the one carrying their cubs.
"You are also important, you are my mate the gift that moon goddess gave me" George said with a pleading voice.
'You are also important ' with these words uttered by George Athena's eyes dimmed.
"Prince George!! Prince George!!" A shouted sounded outside Athena's house, and a door opened with brutal force "sorry to disturb my Prince but Princess Aurora had fainted" David said.
George did not ask any questions but rushed out in panicked forgetting Athena, David looked at Athena and muttered 'sorry' before following George.
"Important huh" Athena said "aaaaahhhhhh!!!" She shouted in agony throwing stuff away then knelt down in the ground "moon goddess why, why gift me such mate" you can hear sadness from her voice "so much for having a great year" then...she fainted.
