Kyung was right Kiera didn't believe in wishes. She always said "if wishes were horses beggars would own one" but right now she decided to give it a shot.
She took the coin Kyung had offered her, closed her eyes for about three seconds and tossed them into the pond. Then she turned to Kyung and said. "You have wishes to don't you? Make a wish and toss the coin".
Kyung laughed, picked up a coin and tossed it into the pond. They were still exploring N tower.
They got to a part of the building that had different kind of locks attached to a fence. "What the hell is this". Kiera asked as her eyes shone in confusion.
"They are called love locks. Couples do come here and attach padlocks and notes to the fence. It is a symbol of eternal love and commitment between couples". Kyung explained.
"Ha! anyways, I think Jack and mum should do it. That word commitment makes the whole thing worth it but I still consider it pointless. Let's keep moving. This section is definitely not for us". Kiera said and grabbed Kyung's arm leading her out of that place.
Kyung shook her head and chuckled. "Uh what is that". Kiera asked pointing something she hadn't seen before.
"Oh that's a cable car. Come come come let's ride one". Kyung said in a baby tone.
"No no! It's not really...". Kiera protested but Kyung dragged and pushed her into the cable car.
"Oh! It isn't as bad as I thought". Kiera said to herself and then smiled at Kyung.
After riding the cable car, they dined at N grill. It was a french restaurant. "Kiera how did you learn how to use chopsticks. I mean back at the hotel you devoured the ramyeon, using the chopsticks in an excellent manner. Is there something you aren't telling me". Kyung asked Kiera playfully.
"Oh that. When I was in middle school, I was so obsessed with south-koreans. I just loved them. Before you say it's genetics, remember I loved K-dramas when I was little. Basically one thing I loved about them was how they ate with chopsticks so I looked it up on the net and learned how to use them". Kiera said with an awkward smile
"That's great. After this let's go see the Han River". Kyung said and clapped.
When they got to Han River, they enjoyed the cool breeze in silence. Kiera finally felt joy in her heart. "Thank you aunt". She turned to Kyung and smiled.
"It's fine your joy is my joy and I wish to see you happier in the future". Kyung said and touched Kiera's face.
"Are they lesbians. I mean I haven't seen lesbians in South Korea". Eun-Sang said to Lee-Soo.
"Stop talking rubbish and enjoy the breeze". Lee-Soo replied coldly.
"Did those men over there just call us lesbians?". Kyung asked Kiera.
"Yea one of them did and their voices sounded so familiar". Kiera replied.
"Ah! Eun-Sang". Kiera yelled after figuring out one of their voices.
Eun-Sang immediately recognized Kiera's voice and ran to her. They both hugged unintentionally making Lee-Soo and Kyung raise their eyebrows in shock.
"You look happier. Wait was it because of me?". Eun-Sang said and Kiera laughed.
"Who knows maybe". Kiera said in a sarcastic tone.
This little interaction made Lee-Soo uncomfortable. Though he didn't understand why, but he had to end it. Plus he was also mad at Kiera for her attitude towards him at the airport. He cleared his throat thereby getting Kiera's attention.
"Uh Lee-Soo, I'm really sorry for being rude to you at the airport. I wasn't feeling okay at that time". Kiera said to Lee-Soo and then looked at Kyung.
Kyung had been staring at Lee-Soo the whole time. Kiera understood. She pretty much did the same when she first saw him but Kyung was being a little extra, so she patted Kyung at her back to shake her back to reality.
"This is my aunt Kyung. Aunty this is Eun-Sang, the friend i made on the plane and this is Lee-Soo the.... the...the friend of the friend i met on the plane". Kiera said and looked at Kyung showing a hint of embarrassment.
Lee-Soo felt awkward. "So Miss Kyung, did you actually invite your niece over to South Korea". Lee-Soo asked in a respectful tone.
Kyung who was pleased that Lee-Soo had finally spoken to her. She smiled sheepishly and said without thinking "Nah I mean she's hear to see me yes, but she's also here for enquiry and reconciliation. Ouch!". Kiera pinched Kyung on her hand.
Lee-Soo and Eun-Sang's doubts were finally cleared. Indeed, Kiera was here to see Jung-Sik.
"Well I think you should hurry up and do your reconciliations and obtain information from your enquiry because time waits for no man. We'll get going now". Lee-Soo said looking directly into the eyes of Kiera and then walked away with Eun-Sang following him behind.
"Kiera I think he knows who you are". Kyung said still looking at Lee-Soo's back.
"Can you stop that Aunty I'm sure you are older than him! And of course he found out who I was because my lovely aunty couldn't keep her mouth shut!". Kiera blurted out and walked away.
"Wait hold on Kiera! Let's go together!". Kyung yelled and chased Kiera.
In the hotel room. Kyung looked at Kiera who was going through various packaging designs for the new V-beauty's gel moisturizer.
"Tomorrow's the day". Kyung said in a gentle voice.
"Stop saying that like I'm going to war. I'm good honestly". Kiera replied Kyung with an energetic voice.
"Ah fine fine, your father's assistant will take you there tomorrow. He's name is Mr.Kim and he is handsome to. Though, not compared to Lee-Soo but yes he is handsome". Kyung said and smiled broadly.
"Mm looks like someone has a crush on Mr.Kim!". Kiera said and laughed. Kyung felt embarrassed and threw pillows at her.
Ring!Ring!Ring! Kiera's phone rang. She didn't need to look at the caller ID she knew it was her mum.
"Hi Sweetie, how's Korea". Jack said from the phone.
"Jack, who gave you the right to call me that". Kiera said playfully and they both laughed.
"Where's mum". Kiera asked. "I'm here sweetie, ignore Jack". Carolyn yelled and took the phone from Jack and he pouted like a baby.
"How's Korea, Kyung sent me a picture of you in N tower. You looked really happy". Carolyn said in a shaky voice.
"Oh mum don't tell me you are going to cry. I've always been happy, with you, Jack, Kyung, Aunt Cara, Mira and V.B. You guys are the ones that sticks different ideas in your minds about my life". Kiera said confidently.
"That's right sweetie". Jack yelled from the phone making them all laugh out loud.
"I'm okay mum. I'll see him tomorrow. Mum I sent you three packaging samples I had selected earlier from over like 20 sent to me. Can you check it out and select one of them?". Kiera asked her mother.
"Ah! How do you find happiness when you work a lot. I could do that. You should focus on whatever is going on there. Argh you are such a workaholic. Fine fine I'll look at them. Good night!". Carolyn said and hung up.
"She probably wants to get intimate with Jack". Kiera said to Kyung after Carolyn hung up on her.
"Ah! Stop it. You are been disgusting". Kyung replied and they both laughed.
The next morning, Kiera got up by 6:00am. She said her prayers. After that, she got a call from an unknown number. "Good morning. Madam Kiera. Your father has requested to see you. I understand the conflict between you both but now his condition is getting worse". Mr. Kim said from the phone.
Kiera's heart thomped seriously, her hands started shaking but she still managed to maintain a steady voice and say "Okay I'll be there". Then she hung up.
"Are you okay?". Kyung who got up the moment Mr.Kim called and had listened to their conversation asked Kiera with a pitiful look.
"Yeah". Kiera said suppressing her emotions and then moved to the bathroom.
At the Emerald hospital. Kiera called the unknown number. "Are you here madam". Mr. Kim asked.
"Yeah". She answered.
"Okay, come to the VIP ward, room 302". Mr.Kim answered and waited for her reply but Kiera hung up and headed towards the VIP ward.
She got to room 302 and froze. She stood in front of the door for sometime, made up her mind and rolled the door open.
In the room, there was a middle aged man on the bed, in the hospital's patients gown. He was asleep. "You are here. He has been waiting for you but unfortunately fell asleep. Do you mind...".
"I'll stay here till he gets up". Kiera interrupted Mr.Kim and sat on the sofa close to Jung-Sik's bed. Mr.Kim felt a sense of relief and excused himself.
Kiera looked at her father and all the medical things attached on his body. Tears streamed down from her eyes. "You will be fine". She assured herself and rested her head on the sofa.
Outside the VIP ward, Mr. Kim saw Lee-Soo. He knew he was here to see Jung-Sik but he had to stop him. "Young Master, you cannot go in there now". He told Lee-Soo.
Lee-Soo became scared. He felt that Jung-Sik had gone to the other world."What do you mean? Please tell me that he is okay!". Lee-Soo yelled.
Mr.Kim became confused. "Why is he shouting like that, did I say Master is dead? Or was it the way I said it?". Mr.Kim thought to himself and then explained his reason to Lee-Soo.
"His daughter Jung-Ha is in there and I'm sure you know she's the one he denied". Mr.Kim told Lee-Soo.
"Jung-Ha? By any chance is she Kiera?". Lee-Soo asked him with a confused expression.
"Yes yes that is her American name Kiera. So you should leave". Mr.Kim answered and excused himself again.
Meanwhile, Lee-Soo felt a sudden urge to see Kiera's beautiful face. "Naega wae geu salam-eul bogo sip-eo? [Why do I want to see her?]". Lee-Soo asked himself. He suppressed the urge to see her and moved away.
In the VIP ward, room 302, Kiera, kept looking at her father. He was a handsome man, though he looked so pale, she could still see it. She imagined how life would have been with him by her side.
After an hour, Jung-Sik didn't get up. Kiera got tired and decided to call Mr.Kim. She was hungry as she had skipped breakfast in the morning. As the phone rang, she waited patiently for Mr. Kim to pick up.
Just then, the door of the room swung open. Kiera looked up and saw a woman about her mum's age. She looked beautiful. Behind the woman was a boy about Kiera's age, and a girl obviously younger than her.
"Nuguseyo?[who are you?]". The woman asked Kiera but Kiera couldn't reply as she didn't understand what the woman said.
"Ah! Eomma nae saeng-gag-en geu salam migug-in-in geos gat-a [mom I think she's American] Say hi!". The girl said and chuckled.
Ji-Won smiled at her daughter and said to Kiera."Hello what is your relationship with my....wait are you Jung-Ha". Ji-Won shone her eyes.
Kiera on hearing her name. Stood up and said."Yes I am and who are you guys. I mean you trooped in like a bunch of banana with so much confidence. I think you are the ones to explain".
The boy, on seeing Kiera smiled and thought to himself "she is beautiful but if she is really Kiera, then she will be dead meat". He walked over to the couch in the room and sat down placing his legs on the table.
Kiera saw this but chose to ignore him. "Oh Kiera, the denied child". Ji-Won said with hatred.
"What did you just say". Kiera said in a low but dangerous tune and moved close to Ji-Won with a threatening gaze. This brought goosebumps on Ji-Won's body and caused her son to stand up.
"What do you think you are doing. Step away from my mother". He yelled but Kiera didn't move at all.
"Are you going to tell me who you are or do I have to kick you out". Kiera asked in her threatening tone glancing at the three of them.
"I am the wife of Jung-Sik and these are my children, his accepted children". Ji-Won said suppressing the fear she felt by Kiera's gaze. Kiera's looks were too intimidating.
After hearing that, Kiera felt weak inside but she kept an emotionless expression still looking at the both of them. "I don't care who you are to him. He requested my presence now the three of you get out". She said with anger.
The young girl started moving back." Don't even think about it Jung-Cha. Who do you think you are Kiera". The boy yelled.
Kiera didn't reply him instead she took her phone and called Mr. Kim again. Thankfully, he picked up. "I'm so sorry Madam, I was about to call you. I just saw your missed calls. What should I do for you". Kim asked her.
"There is a woman here called Ji-Won with her two kids Jung-Cha and no name, she claims to be Jung-Sik's wife which I believe to be true seeing that the daughter's surname corresponds with his but I need some alone time with him so send in body guards to take them out of here". Kiera said authoritatively.
