After a week, Diana finally woke up. When she opened her eyes she saw her mother sleeping on a chair by her bedside. She looked haggard and tired. She could imagine how her mother hasn't been resting well because of her. Diana then looked around the room she was in. It was well furnished with exotic furniture that had an artistic impression but it still had a warmth touch.
Diana heard a few whispers outside her door then the door was opened. Sandra together with an elderly man came in. The man had a gentle appearance on his face, he gave off the feeling of comfort and trust that one couldn't ignore. Sandra showed a look of surprise but quickly mastered her expression to one of indifference.
Sandra: "Diana, you are finally awake. You've made your mother and father worry."
Fiona woke up at the sound of Sandra's voice. She was shocked to see Diana awake but then her shock turned into joy. She was so happy that tears streamed down her face. One had to know how worried she was about Diana. After healing herself, she thought that Diana would wake up but that wasn't the case.
When Diana was examined nothing seemed to be a problem but she still didn't wake up. After a few more days Fiona became increasingly worried and asked for Sandra to check on Diana once more but Sandra and the other healers told her the same thing, Diana was in a deep sleep.
After getting the same answer again and again Fiona decided to wait for Diana to finally wake up. Now that she was awake all the anxiety and worry was washed away and she could finally breathe.
Fiona: "baby, how are you? Are you in pain anywhere? Tell mommy so that I can make it better."
Diana was touched by her mother's care. How could she have neglected such a mother who cared for her and loved her. She must have been possessed by that man.
Diana: "mom, I don't feel any pain. Can I just get a glass of water?"
Fiona: "yes baby, let me get it for you."
Fiona hurriedly got a glass of water from the bedside table and gave it to Diana. Diana was feeling quite thirsty and her throat felt dry. The elderly man finally cleared his throat make the mother daughter pair remember their presence. Fiona was embarrassed at her behaviour as she had totally ignored the elderly man.
Fiona: "Master Henry, I'm sorry for not greeting you just now. I hope you won't find fault with this daughter of yours."
Henry: "Fiona no need to worry. I know how worried you were of Diana and so is everyone else. I was here to check on her but now that she's awake we all can finally breathe."
Henry turned his gaze on Diana, "Diana you kept us all worried about you for the passed week. Fortunately you woke up when you did. I'll let you rest for a few days then I'll send someone to fetch you, we have much to discuss before the council meeting that's in a week's time. Rest well."
After master Henry was done he went out. Sandra came and checked on her and after seeing that everything was fine she also left.
Diana: "mom, whose that man? And what is the council meeting he's talking about?"
Fiona was silent for a minute then decided to tell Diana what she knew because no matter how much she wanted to protect her it wasn't possible anymore.
Fiona: "that's our current leader, master Henry Long. This place is our sanctuary and we belong to the divine sanctuary. There are five sanctuaries in total, divine, elemental, protectors, diviners and saints. Each sanctuary has a specific profession or skills that one masters. Our sanctuary is actually one of healers.
Basically I'm from the diviners sanctuary but when I married your father I had to join his sanctuary. Though the sanctuaries have different leaders we are actually one sanctuary and we are united in everything. There are some questions that the council wants to ask you regarding master David. Master David has been searching for you ever since you escaped.
We found a body of another young woman and disposed of it as yours but David refused to acknowledge that woman and has been searching for you to no end. Diana, how is master David able to tell that your still alive?"
A sudden coldness passed through Diana's eyes and her aura became sharp and vicious. Fiona saw the change in Diana but chose not to speak of it. She knew that after Diana's experience she wasn't going to be the same gentle, demure woman she used to be.
Diana was now a dicisive, vicious and ruthless person and soon all her enemies will taste her bloodthirsty nature, a demoness had been born.
