In a house, at somewhere in Tokyo, Japan:
It was morning and the temperature was moderate.
Izaya Orihara is currently 3 years old
A serious young man wearing a black suit with a black suitcase in his right hand could be seen exiting the average-japanese house.
That serious man turned around and flashed a brilliant grin, which looked out of place with his previous professional and serious aura.
To whom he was flashing the grin was standing just before the door of the house,
on the wooden platform.
She was a beautiful woman, who was wearing a white apron on her blue and black clothes.
She started waving at the man, who was apparently her husband, with a cheerful smile on her face.
Besides her was standing a child who was also smiling and waving at his father.
"Have a good day!"
Both son and mother wished in unison to the man.
"Hm.. You guys, take care."
The man said and immediately turned around with his back facing his son and wife.
"Well then, here I go!"
He exclaimed in a cheerful and energetic voice and went straight to the metro station, which was a walking distance from his home. From there, he would take a metro to the area where his office was.
He did a corporate job with a respectable position. He was only 26 years old, the same age as his wife.
Filled with ambitious plans such as advancing to a higher position and providing a more luxurious lifestyle to his family, he headed to his workplace.

As mentioned above, the house looked like an average Japanese one at a glance.
However, it was far from that from the inside.
It had two floors but also had long and narrow corridors, one drawing room, one dining room with the kitchen attached and a seperate room in the ground floor where Izaya slept.
Furthermore, it also had a small library in a separate room.
All the books were placed in the shelves that reached a good height, in a circular formation.
Why the need for a library?
You see, Izaya's mother was a historian.
Besides history, she also lived to read other books.
She wanted to study and write books on history.
However, she was deeply in love with Ren.
They both promised to marry the very instant they would graduate from college.
So, they graduated and got married.
And the birth of Izaya followed.
Both were overjoyed.
Sakane couldn't continue to be a historian and follow her passion.
She had to take care of her child, after all.
But that was fine, it was her decision to have a child in the first place.
She loved Izaya very much.
First of all, as husband and wife, Ren and Sakane loved each other, but also respected each other's feelings.
Ren, her husband, knew of her interest and with as much money he could gather, built a small library for her.
He promised to Sakane with a firm resolve and sincerity in his rare, golden eyes that he will make a big library for her soon.
Sakane believed him completely. She trusted he could do it.
Anyways, Izaya was getting big. He had got control of his body. He could move from one place to another. He could walk. He could run!
He started loving his parents and as time moved on, their bond only grew stronger.
