" I can't believe they cancelled at the last minute." Bella says throwing herself on the sofa.
"It's okay sweety , I'm sure you'll still meet them , this is a small world." Cynthia (their mother) says.
"Your mom's right darling you'll still meet the JALD boys especially when your father is a well known and respected billionaire, I'll figure out a way to introduce you to them."
"Thanks mom and Dad , you two are the best" Anna says
"Anything for my sweet little Angels."
"Mom we ain't little girls anymore, we are adults remember we're turning twenty next week " Anna says
"I know sweety I'll never forget that day my sweet munchkins " Cynthia says and they all laugh.
In what seems like a happy family , there's Lina sitting in the corner on the cold floor with an aching heart. She is never allowed to dine with them because she is the maid in her own home . She is used to be yelled at and beaten up for nothing but her heart still longs for a family's love .
Her mother used to tell her how important family is and sharing every meal as a family used to be the best thing when her mother was still alive. When the family was done with dinner, she cleared the table and cleaned up washing the dishes and leaving the floor sparkling. When she was satisfied with the way things looked making sure that everything is set so that she doesn't get flogged before sleeping.
" I need this homework done in less than 30 minutes and make sure that you get everything there correct or else you'll regret it" Bella says throwing her book on Lina .
She took the book to her room and checked out and lucky enough it was mathematics and she is good at it . She started writing everything correct and in less than twenty minutes she was done and took the book back to Bella. She went to the bathroom and took a long hot shower and applied oitment on her wounds before going to bed but she tossed and turned on bed struggling to get sleep until she decided to sneak out and take a walk in the night.
She sneaked out of the back window of her room and left it open so that she won't struggle to go back in .
"Where are you going at this time of the night miss?" Simon who used to be Lina's personal guard back in the good old days asked.
"I need some fresh air and I'm struggling to sleep" she replied
"Can I come with you? I mean it's risky for a lady of your age to walk alone in this dangerous streets of Jump City alone in the night"
"You are not my bodyguard anymore Simon so there's no need to escort me besides, nobody will care if anything happens to me , the world has forgotten of my existence even my own family"
" I still care about your safety even though I'm no longer your bodyguard Lina. You and I used to be friends so I cannot just forget about you. I miss you, how you used to smile and embrace yourself, how you used to be brave and fearless facing every challenge head on. I miss the real you Lina ,this heartbroken slave I see infront of me is not you Lina . You have to remember who you are and get the fuck out of this place show everyone that you are a daughter of a fighter not just a stripper" Simon says trying to restore the confidence and power in Lina. A few drops of tears dropped out of her eyes as she listened to him . She was happy that someone still sees her as a person afterall.
" Trust me Simon , I do want to leave this place, I want to fight for my mother's legacy but where will I go if I leave here . I cannot just fight now because I'll be dead in no time , I need to go somewhere far from here and come back when I'm sure I have what it takes to avenge myself "
"I'm willing to help Lina. I can do whatever it takes just say a word and I'll do as you say. You are the reason why I stayed here after the death of your mother. Your mother took me out of poverty and I owe her for that. Just trust me I want to help"
"I do trust you Simon. I think the best way to help me is raising more than enough money for me I get out of this place and start afresh somewhere else"
"I already have my life savings , I can raise more money in a month I'll help you leave"
"That'll mean a lot Simon. Anyway let me leave before anybody sees me , I need some time to think and draw up my plan"
"Okay be safe and don't take long" Simon says in a concerned tone.
"Im always safe outside this gate , anyway I'll be just fine"
I was walking on the quiet street of Jump City as fresh air blew my blue long hair smelling great until a car stopped just infront of me and a man came out.
"Why is a lady of your age walking around in the middle of the night?" A familiar voice of the man said.
