The world had fallen silent. The town that was once alive with laughter and voices, was nothing more than a fractured memory buried into the rubble. The sky was gray, not an ounce of light visible. Broken buildings leaned like mourners over the remains of what was once a life, a home, a dream, a beautiful town.
In the center of it all, he stood. Dust clung to his skin, his breath ragged and shallow, his arms trembling but firm. He held her close—her face pale, her body motionless. Now, she was just the only piece of his world he had. Behind him stood the people of his town. Afraid to watch him fall.
And yet, his shoulders did not bow. His knees did not give way. He was a man stripped bare of everything—his family, but not his will. He was glad that out there, people still lived because of him. Innocent lives spared from this ruin because he had acted. That thought burned within him, keeping him upright when grief clawed at his chest.
The wreckage around him told a story of loss, but his heart whispered something else. In the ashes, amid the silence, there was still a chance to stand tall—not for what was gone, but for what he had saved.
In the midst of it all, the town saw what no one ever saw, the myth , the goddess the one they worshipped. The Moon Goddess. She was tall, elegant like no other. The soft silver glow radiating from her body made her look like the moon came to give the earth a hug. Her hair and skin , glimmering like the lake bathing in the moonlight. The alpha and his people both mesmerized watching her. But she wasn't here for them. The crescent on her forehead started to glow as she elegantly moved her finger causing everyone except the alpha to fall asleep.
The alpha looked at her blue silver eyes and bowed as he couldn't handle the force of her authority. "Moon Goddess, I stand before you, humbled by your presence. Command me what you wish and I will sacrifice my life to get it for you"
Her gaze is steady and wise as she watches him, a soft, knowing smile touching her lips."You sacrificed more than most could ever bear, Alpha. Your heart, heavy with grief yet so calm by your resilience . But tell me, why did you choose this path?"
The alpha gulped the bile that formed in his mouth. His voice, thick with emotion as he said:" I chose it because I couldn't let them suffer. They had the trust that I would protect them. I couldn't break their trust, couldn't let them fall when I had the strength to protect them.I gave everything, even my family, because it was the only way to save them."
The face of the alpha glowed under what looked like moon light as the moon goddess moved towards him. She smiled as she held her hand above his head. "Such a choice speaks of a heart forged in the fire of sacrifice. Your pain is great, yet your strength is greater still."
"Your sacrifice has not gone unnoticed, nor has your unwavering resolve. For the strength you've shown, I offer you a gift—one no other wolf has ever received." The moon goddess eyes glowed silver and every word sounded like ancient wisdome coming from her mouth.
The Moon Goddess raises her hands, her fingers glowing with silver light as a sphere of radiant energy forms between them. "a gift that will bind a part of me to you, a piece of my essence, so that you may carry both my strength and my wisdom within you. I give you my essence in the form of a child, one born of your blood and mine, a being who will carry within them the power of the moon and the strength of your sacrifice."
As she said that the sphere travelled from her hand to the stomach of alpha's mate. The alpha's eyes shown, overwhelmed by seeing all this and from the gift. His voice trembles as he speaks, a mix of awe and gratitude."I... I don't know what to say."
"There is no need for words. The gift I offer you is the future—the continuation of your bloodline, empowered by both you and me. This child will help you rebuild, to lead your people into a new era. They will bear the weight of your sacrifice and rise as a new protector." the Moon Goddess fades into the moonlight, her presence lingers, and the Alpha stands, still hearing the sound of her voice fading into the sky.
