Panel 1 :
Scene starts Inside the crevice where Kang Joon is hiding, clinging to the cold stone walls. His breathing shallow, sweat dripping from his face. Demons claw relentlessly at the narrow crevice, their screeches echoing in the darkness. Dust falls from above as they dig, the cracks around the crevice growing. The camera Close-up at their claws gouging the rocks, creating deep scratches causing cracks to form around the crevice.
Sound Effects: Skrriii... Thud... Crack.
Kang Joon (thinking):
"How long can I stay like this? Sooner or later, they'll break through."
Narration Box:
"The relentless Abyss knows neither rest nor mercy."
Panel 2 :
Kang Joon presses himself deeper into the narrow space, his body trembling. Dirt smears his face and hands as he grips the jagged wall. His ragged breathing fills the silence, mixing with the distant sound of demons clawing.
Kang Joon (thinking):
"I've never been this close to death… not like this. Is this how it ends?"
Panel 3 :
Memories flashes back in Kang Joon's mind, he sees Seoyeon smiling warmly as they share a simple meal together. The memory shifts, and he now sees her sitting alone, her face pale and her eyes empty, the loneliness suffocating.
Kang Joon (thinking):
"If I die, what will happen to Seoyeon? She's all alone... waiting for me."
Panel 4 :
Suddenly, the demons grew restless, their claws halting mid-motion. Their attention diverts momentarily to an even more ominous pulse coming deeper within the dungeon. The sound feels intelligent and calculated. The scratching stops. A chilling silence takes over.
Sound Effects: Thrum… Thrum…
Kang Joon (thinking):
"What now?"
Panel 5 :
Meanwhile, Erynn walks through the adventurer's district. Her strides are steady, her face calm, though she occasionally rubs her wrist. The pain from earlier seems to have vanished. She brushes her hair back as she passes by groups of adventurers loitering and sharing tales.
Erynn (thinking) :
"The pain... it's gone. Finally, I'm back to normal." I should avoid going near the Edge dungeons for now.
Panel 6 :
Erynn overhears adventurers gossiping near a dice table. The rowdy group of adventurers laughs and mocks as they gamble.
Adventurer 1 (mocking):
"Heard four of them went to an E-rank dungeon, only two came out? Trash like that should've stuck to carrying bags."
Adventurer 2:
"Maybe they ran into the real deal."
Adventurer 1 (snickering):
"Nah, most likely they killed each other for pennies. That's all these bottom-feeders are good for."
Adventurer 3 (laughing) :
"Money to them, pocket change for us. Must be tough being at the bottom." What more can you expect from those low-rank scums.
Panel 7 :
Erynn pauses mid-step, her hand clenching slightly. She takes a deep breath, attempting to calm her rising unease.
Erynn (thinking) :
"Could it be… No, it couldn't be them. Minsoo's team should be capable. If things got dangerous, they'd at least escape."
"Maybe I'm overthinking. A drink might help me settle down."
Panel 8 :
Erynn steps into a dimly lit tavern, the atmosphere loud and lively with adventurers celebrating, arguing, and drinking. Smoke fills the air as flickering lanterns cast long shadows. In the corner, a group of adventurers cheers and woos over a bet. She slowly steps toward the bar, intending to grab a drink to calm her unease.
B Rank Orc Tank :
"Tch... I lost again. This one's on me. I bet those two won't stand another round." I wonder how much more will these two bastards drink, they are making me loose face.
B Rank Lizardmen mercenary :
"Told you… these losers could even outlast their teammates. What's two more mugs of beer to them?"
Another adventurers (to Amy lecherously) :
"Drink up, beauty. This one's on me. Better luck on your next mission. If you feel unsafe outside, you can spend the night with us."
Another group of adventurers :
Aren't you a man. How come she drink better than you.... Another shot or they will win.
Panel 9 :
The scene shifts to two familiar figures at the center of attention. Amy and Ray sit slumped over a table, drinking heavily, their faces flushed. Their movements are sluggish, their words venomous.
Amy (babbling angrily):
"It's all your fault… I told you to help Minsoo, but you ran away with your tail between your legs."
Ray (trembling angrily):
"My fault?! Tell me, how could we face an A-rank demon? Let alone a horde of them? And you're the one who cast that debuff on him!"
And why do you care about that useless thing. Are you in love with him or something!
Amy (shouting):
"Me?! You forced me to do it! If not for you, he wouldn't be dead right now!"
Narration Box:
"The amused laughter of adventurers echoed in the midst of their quarrel, unbothered as they gulped their drinks."
Panel 10:
Erynn overhears their voices and recognizes them instantly. Her expression shifts to one of shock and worry as she spots Amy and Ray arguing, their flushed and cocky faces blaming each other. She scans the room, noticing high-ranking adventurers watching with interest.
Erynn (thinking):
"What? Why are they here? And where are Minsoo and Kang Joon?"
Panel 11 :
The scene shifts back to Kang Joon in the cramped crevice. His brows furrow, and his hands tremble as he hears movement outside. Heavy footsteps approach, louder than the smaller demons'.
Kang Joon (thinking):
"What... What's happening out there?"
Panel 12 :
A towering Abyss creature enters the cavern, emerging from the shadows. Its body is larger and more muscular than the others, its claws sharp, its glowing eyes exuding a predatory aura. The smaller demons retreat, acknowledging its dominance.
Narration Box:
"The Abyss never ceases to evolve, its horrors growing more terrifying with every moment."
Panel 13 :
Kang Joon grips the jagged wall, his expression one of grim determination. Despite his fear, his eyes burn with a newfound resolve.
Kang Joon (thinking):
"If I can't escape from behind... then I'll fight my way out through the front!"
Panel 14 :
The final panel shows a close -up shot of Kang Joon, this time from behind showing a dead end infront. The path ahead is blocked by a solid wall of rock and dirt leaning him helpless, his resolve yet unphased.
Narration Box:
"The Abyss offers no escape. Only despair."
