The battle between beast tamers and monsters was always cruel. The monsters had the intention of eliminating humans from this planet, while humans saw the monsters as a source of danger and resources at the same time.
During a monster tide, if a city that was under the siege of monsters survived, it would be able to reap so many benefits. But if it failed to protect the city, only one thing remained for the occupants of the city, extinction.
That was of course, unless they used the transmission device to go to another city. But that was not easy. The amount of energy that was consumed by the transmission device in order to transport a large group of people within a city was not low.
