Samuel was wondering in the jungle that was outside the city. Having used an eagle as a mount before, Samuel was currently seated on top of Thunder, and Thunder was moving deeper into the wilderness, and far away from the city.
Samuel found that it was more convenient to use Thunder as a mount, rather than walking on foot. It was due to the fact that he was using Thunder as a mount, that he had been able to cover quite a large distance in just a short while.
After leaving the city airspace, he began encountering several aerial monsters. But of course, the majority of these monsters were just low level, and were easily taken care of by thunder after it released a single bolt of lightning.
And as they continued moving far from the city, the level of the monsters that they encountered along the way began increasing. And, Samuel began anticipating encountering higher level monsters.
