Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: "Breakfast Shenanigans"

Charlie entered the house, her eyes widening as she saw Mon without a shirt, dazed and looking at thin air. "Mon, what are you looking at? And why don't you have your shirt on?"

Mon, seemingly ignoring Charlie's question, was startled and immediately said, "Isn't she beautiful?"

Charlie, following Mon's gaze, guessed what he was thinking and said firmly, "Don't even try going that way, Mon. Sloan and Sicily are together. Although they have an open relationship, they are our guests, and we don't play with fire when it comes to our guests."

Mon, smirking mischievously, teased Charlie, "I'm just admiring the view. Are you sure?"

Charlie, slightly exasperated, replied, "Yes, I am sure."

Mon chuckled and said, "Then why are you looking at Sloan the same way I'm looking at Sicily?"

Charlie's face flushed with surprise and embarrassment. "What do you mean?"

Mon leaned in closer, a playful glint in his eyes. "You know what I mean..."

Charlie rolled her eyes, realizing the playful banter was going nowhere. "Put your shirt on and let's start making breakfast. This thinking is making me hungry."

After an hour of bustling around the kitchen, Charlie had prepared a delicious homemade breakfast. The aroma of freshly cooked food filled the air, signaling the arrival of a satisfying meal.

Sicily and Sloan, tired from their morning exploration, decided to return to the resort and enjoy the scrumptious spread. Even from the outside, they could smell the mouthwatering dishes that awaited them.

Sicily, with a mischievous smile on her face, challenged Sloan, "Race you to the kitchen where Charlie is cooking! The winner gets the biggest portion!"

Teasingly, she took off running ahead of Sloan, who was caught off guard but quickly followed suit, clumsily attempting to catch up.

As they reached the kitchen, Sicily suddenly hugged Charlie, announcing triumphantly, "I got here first!"

Sloan, just behind Sicily, almost tripped at her words. He reached out his hand in an attempt to steady himself but couldn't help feeling a pang of disappointment.

"No!" Sloan exclaimed, his hand still reaching out towards Charlie.

Sicily and Charlie burst into laughter at the comical scene that had unfolded. Sloan, caught off guard, lost his balance and fell to the floor, landing in a heap.

George, who had been making his way to the kitchen, witnessed the entire scene and rushed over to Sloan with concern, "Uncle Sloan, Uncle Sloan! What's wrong? Are you okay?"

Sloan, dumbfounded by the child's question, tried to save face. "Yeah, I'm just pretending to be Superman," he said, making up an excuse on the spot.

George's eyes widened with excitement. "Really? Can I be Superman too?"

Sloan, not wanting to disappoint George, smiled and said, "Of course, you can! Let's fly together!"

With that, Sloan picked up George and began running around the room, their arms stretched out as if they were soaring through the sky. Laughter filled the air as the playful duo embraced their superhero roles.

Charlie, amused by the spectacle, couldn't contain her laughter. "Okay, guys, I think we have too much energy this morning. Let's relax and sit down to eat breakfast."

George, obediently following Charlie's instruction, hopped onto a chair and eagerly waited for the meal to be served. "Yes, Mama Chawie!"

Sloan, still catching his breath, found George's actions adorable and couldn't resist joining in on the fun. He playfully copied George, saying, "Yes, Mama Chawie," eliciting another round of laughter.

Sicily chimed in, teasing Sloan, "Hey, you're not as cute as George, as much as you think."

Everyone burst into laughter once again, filling the room with joy and lightheartedness. Unbeknownst to them, Charlie couldn't help but feel giddy and blushed with how Sloan said her name. However, she quickly brushed off the thought, reminding herself that it was all in good fun and that they were simply guests at the resort.

Amy, observing Charlie's reactions, gave her a knowing smile. As a long-time friend, Amy could tell that there was something more beneath the surface. She kept this knowledge to herself, ready to support and be there for Charlie as their summer adventure continued.

Little did they know that their playful breakfast gathering would lead to even more hilarious and unexpected moments. The summer sun shone brightly upon them, casting a light of laughter and camaraderie that would forever be etched in their memories.
