Chapter 2 - Adam “The Suicidal Light”

"Sooo Boring" Adam who was still trapped in the depths said ourloud, on his hand was a spear entirely made of light and in front of him lay a huge pile of ash.

You see this happened a few moments ago..

FLASHBACK.

Adam who was walking around after killing the abomination followed a path of skeletons, his expression was nonchalant and indifferent. "I wonder if the thing inside can kill me"

Adam wandered deeper into the ominous chasm, his footsteps echoing faintly against the walls. The path of skeletons stretched endlessly, their twisted forms locked in expressions of anguish and fear. Yet, his face remained neutral, even as the eerie silence was broken by distant growls and whispers carried by the stale air.

His thoughts lingered on his predicament. Why can't I just die? I already tried jumping off a building, and now this. Is this some kind of cruel cosmic joke? He dragged the glowing spear along the ground absentmindedly, sparks of golden light flaring with every scrape.

The oppressive air grew heavier, and the faint whispers evolved into guttural roars. He stopped abruptly in front of a massive, jagged door carved into the stone. The door was adorned with grotesque carvings of creatures writhing in torment, and the skeletal remains piled at its base seemed to warn of what lay beyond.

Adam tilted his head and stared at the door. "This looks promising," he muttered, his tone devoid of enthusiasm. Without hesitation, he pushed it open with a single hand. The massive door groaned as it gave way, revealing a cavernous chamber illuminated by an eerie, pulsating red light.

At the center of the room stood a hulking beast, its form grotesque and unnatural. It had four muscular arms, each tipped with razor-sharp claws, and its head was a horrifying amalgamation of a wolf and a dragon, with multiple glowing red eyes fixed on Adam. Its breathing was deep and heavy, each exhale shaking the ground beneath his feet.

The creature snarled, its aura so suffocating that most would have collapsed in terror. Adam, however, simply sighed.

"So you're the big bad, huh?" he said flatly, gripping his glowing spear. He scanned the beast from head to toe, his indifferent gaze betraying no hint of fear. "I wonder if you can finally kill me."

The creature roared in response, its deafening cry reverberating through the cavern. Without warning, it charged at him, its massive form moving with terrifying speed. Then it hit him and he turned inot a pile of blood and flesh.

But the next second that pile of blood and flesh started squirming.

The beast froze mid-roar, its glowing red eyes narrowing in confusion as the pile of blood and flesh that had been Adam began to writhe and squirm. Tendrils of golden light snaked through the gory mass, stitching flesh, bone, and sinew back together at an unnatural speed.

Adam's skull reformed first, his golden eyes flickering to life, followed by the rest of his body as though it were being reconstructed by an unseen force. Within moments, he was whole again, his torn clothes still hanging loosely off his regenerated frame.

The beast took a cautious step back, a low growl rumbling in its throat as it watched this grotesque resurrection. Adam, now standing upright, cracked his neck and stretched his arms as if waking from a nap.

"Well," he said, inspecting his hands, "that was new. Didn't think I'd actually feel it this time." His golden spear, which had fallen beside the pile of remains, floated back into his grasp as if drawn by an unseen magnet. He spun it lazily, his expression as bored as ever.

The beast roared again, this time with a hint of uncertainty. It lunged forward, slashing at Adam with its massive claws. Adam didn't bother dodging. The claws tore through him, ripping his torso apart in a spray of blood.

And once again, the squirming began.

This time, Adam's regeneration was even faster, the golden energy radiating from him more intensely. He reformed in seconds, his body snapping back together with a sickening but oddly satisfying sound.

"Okay," he muttered, brushing off the blood that had soaked into what remained of his shirt. "So you can kill me, sort of. But here's the thing…" He stepped forward, spinning his spear with a flourish. "I just keep coming back."

The beast hesitated, its predatory instincts warring with its growing unease. It snarled and summoned a swirling orb of dark energy in its claws, hurling it at Adam with explosive force. The attack obliterated him completely, leaving nothing but a smoldering crater.

For a moment, there was silence. The beast let out a triumphant roar, assuming its prey was finally gone.

Then the crater began to glow.

Golden light erupted from the ground, and Adam's form materialized again, fully intact. He dusted himself off, his expression shifting slightly into one of mild irritation. "Alright, that actually stung. Kudos to you."

The beast roared in frustration, its eyes blazing as it charged once more. Adam, however, raised his hand, the golden light from his body intensifying until the entire chamber was bathed in its glow.

"Your turn," Adam said, his voice calm but laced with menace.

The spear in his hand extended, its light warping and twisting until it became a massive lance, brimming with concentrated energy. He swung it in a wide arc, the motion releasing a wave of golden energy that slashed through the beast's charging form. The creature howled in agony as the light burned through its flesh, leaving deep, glowing scars across its body.

It staggered back, its legs buckling under the weight of its wounds. Adam approached slowly, his glowing spear shrinking back to its original size as he rested it on his shoulder.

"See," he said, standing over the fallen beast, "I don't want to keep fighting you. I don't even want to be here. But since we're stuck in this little loop…" He raised the spear, aiming it at the creature's head. "…I'm gonna end it. For both of us."

Before the beast could react, Adam drove the spear down with all his might, the golden energy surging through it in a blinding explosion. The creature let out one final, ear-splitting roar before disintegrating into ash, its energy dissipating into the chamber.

As the light faded, Adam stood alone, the silence of the cavern enveloping him. He sighed, leaning on his spear like a walking stick.

BACK TO THE PRESENT.

"Well, that was boring," he muttered. "Now what?"

The sound of distant footsteps echoed from the chamber's entrance. Adam turned, his golden eyes narrowing.

"Oh, great," he said dryly. "Round two?"

Suddenly two people with weapons appeared and they were both young girls.

One with blue hair the other with red.

The blue one was wearing a dark robe and was holding a silver rapier and the red one was wearing light armor.

Adam who was naked at the moment looked at the two with no reaction. "So are you two here to kill me?, i mean if you fail i would have to end you and you may look cute but i am a complete believer of Gender equality"

"Uhm sister, wasn't there a monster here we were supposed to kill" The red ine asked confused.

"It seems we encountered a naked boy…also i am looking away" Adam sighed and rubbed his temples, clearly unamused. "Oh, for heaven's sake. Let me guess: some kind of brave adventurer duo sent to slay the beast? Hate to break it to you, but it's already gone." He gestured lazily at the pile of ash behind him. "You're late."

The blue-haired girl, still avoiding eye contact, tightened her grip on her rapier. "Who… who are you? And why are you—" she faltered, glancing at him for the briefest moment before quickly looking away again, her face tinged with red. "Why are you like this?"

Adam glanced down at himself, then back at her, his expression completely unbothered. "Oh, this? That thing ripped me apart a couple of times, so yeah, clothes didn't exactly survive. Not that it matters. I can make a toga or something if it'll stop you from freaking out."

He snapped his fingers, and tendrils of golden light emerged from his body, forming a rough cloak that draped over his shoulders. "Better?"

The red-haired girl looked at him suspiciously, her hand resting on the hilt of her blade. "Wait, so you fought the monster? And killed it? All by yourself?"

"Pretty much." Adam yawned, leaning on his glowing spear like it was a walking stick. "Not that it was hard. Just messy. And annoying. Honestly, I was kind of hoping it'd kill me instead, but no such luck."

The red-haired girl frowned, clearly puzzled. "Kill you? What are you talking about?"

"Don't mind me," Adam said, waving her off. "Just having an existential crisis. Happens when you can't die, no matter how hard you try."

The blue-haired girl finally turned to face him fully, her eyes narrowing. "You're immortal?" Her tone was sharp now, her earlier flustered demeanor gone.

"Seems like it," Adam replied nonchalantly. "Believe me, it's not as fun as it sounds. Now, unless you two have something useful to offer—like a way to actually end me—I'll just be on my way."

The red-haired girl stepped forward, drawing her blade. "Not so fast! If you're immortal and took down that monster, then what are you? A demon? A cursed soul? You could be dangerous!"

Adam raised an eyebrow. "Dangerous to who? The pile of ash back there?" He sighed. "Look, kid, I don't have time for this. I'm tired, I'm bored, and the last thing I need is a couple of wannabe heroes pointing swords at me."

The blue-haired girl studied him closely, her sharp eyes catching the faint golden glow that radiated from his body. She lowered her rapier slightly, though her stance remained defensive. "You're not human, are you?"

"Not sure anymore," Adam admitted, scratching the back of his head. "Used to be, I think. Now I'm just… whatever this is. Immortal, glowing, and very, very over all of this."

The red-haired girl scowled. "So what? You're just gonna walk out of here and leave us to clean up your mess?"

"My mess?" Adam repeated, a hint of irritation creeping into his voice. He gestured at the ash pile again. "I just saved you the trouble of fighting that thing. You're welcome, by the way. Not that anyone asked me to."

The blue-haired girl held up a hand, silencing her sister before she could retort. "Wait," she said, her voice calm but firm. "If you're immortal, then maybe… maybe you can help us."

Adam tilted his head, genuinely curious. "Help you? With what?"
