Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

As Kael stood in the center of the room, practicing the ancient magic, Eira and Arin watched him with keen interest. Eira's eyes were narrowed, her gaze fixed on Kael's every move, while Arin's eyes shone with a deep understanding, his gaze seeming to see right through to Kael's very soul.

Lyra stood beside Kael, guiding him through the intricacies of the magic. "You're getting close, Kael," she said, her voice low and husky. "But there's still so much to learn."

Kael nodded, his mind racing with the implications. He was determined to master the magic, no matter what it took.

But as he continued to practice, Kael began to sense that something was off. The air seemed to vibrate with an otherworldly energy, and he could feel the weight of unseen eyes upon him.

Eira's eyes snapped towards the door, her gaze fixed on something that Kael couldn't see. "What is it, Eira?" Kael asked, his voice low.

Eira's eyes never wavered. "I sense a presence," she said, her voice tight. "A dark and malevolent presence."

Arin's eyes seemed to gleam with understanding. "It's Xandros," he said, his voice low. "The Shadow Weaver."

Kael's heart pounded with fear as he realized that he was face to face with a new and powerful enemy. An enemy who sought to exploit his power for their own gain.

And then, in an instant, the room was filled with a dark, shadowy energy. Kael's eyes widened as he saw Xandros emerge from the shadows, its eyes burning with an inner fire.

"Ah, Kael Darkhaven," Xandros said, its voice low and menacing. "I've been waiting for you."

Kael's heart pounded with fear, but he stood tall, his eyes fixed on Xandros. He was ready to defend himself, no matter what it took.

And beside him, Eira and Arin stood ready, their eyes fixed on Xandros with a fierce intensity.

"We'll not let you have him, Xandros," Eira spat, her voice venomous.

Xandros smiled, its eyes gleaming with amusement. "We'll see about that," it said, its voice dripping with menace.

And with that, the battle began.
