Chapter 38 - Chapter 37: Whispers of the Celestials

The shattered Heart of the Abyss faded into memory as Jin, Kaelros, and Lysander emerged from the Abyssal Rift. Though the air outside was fresher, the weight of their journey lingered. The group paused at the edge of a plateau overlooking a vast expanse of barren land, the horizon burning with the faint glow of an impending dawn.

Jin stood at the edge, his mind sharper than ever. The power of the Abyss coursed through him, controlled yet waiting to be unleashed. He flexed his fingers, feeling the balance between light and darkness within him.

Kaelros broke the silence, his tone edged with caution. "The Abyss may be under your command now, but that doesn't make you invincible. You've made a lot of enemies, Jin Shang—on both sides."

Lysander leaned against a nearby rock, his weapon resting at his side. "He's right. The Abyss was just one challenge. The Celestial Pantheon won't ignore what you've done here."

Jin turned to face them, his expression unreadable. "Let them come. I'll deal with them like I've dealt with everything else."

The Celestial Council

Far above the mortal plane, in the luminous halls of the Celestial Council, a gathering of radiant beings convened. Their forms shimmered with divine energy, their faces concealed behind veils of light.

At the center of the room stood a figure draped in golden robes, their voice calm yet commanding. "The Abyss has been tamed. The boy has achieved what no mortal should be capable of."

Another figure, cloaked in silver, spoke with disdain. "This cannot go unpunished. Jin Shang is a threat to the balance of all realms. If he continues on this path, he will challenge the very foundations of our existence."

A third figure, their voice softer yet resolute, interjected. "We must be cautious. The Abyss chose him for a reason. Perhaps his rise is not something we should oppose."

The golden-robed figure raised a hand, silencing the debate. "Enough. We cannot afford to be divided. Send the envoys. If Jin Shang refuses to submit, we will bring him to justice."

The council room fell silent as the decision was made. The Celestial Pantheon would no longer stand idle.

Envoys of Light

As Jin and his companions made camp for the night, an uneasy tension filled the air. The fire crackled softly, its light barely illuminating their faces.

Kaelros glanced at the sky, his gaze sharp. "We're being watched."

Jin nodded, his senses attuned to the faint presence of an approaching force. "I feel it too. Something powerful."

Moments later, the air around them shimmered, and three figures descended from the heavens. They were clad in armor of pure light, their wings blazing with celestial fire. Each carried a weapon that radiated divine energy.

The leader of the trio stepped forward, their voice echoing with authority. "Jin Shang, child of the Abyss, the Celestial Council demands your surrender. You have defied the natural order and claimed power that does not belong to you."

Jin rose to his feet, his Abyssal energy stirring like a storm. "I don't answer to the Celestial Council. If they have a problem with me, they can face me themselves."

The envoy's eyes narrowed. "So be it."

Battle Under the Stars

The first attack came without warning. One of the envoys unleashed a spear of light, its trajectory swift and deadly. Jin raised a hand, summoning a barrier of Abyssal energy that absorbed the strike. The impact sent a shockwave through the air, scattering debris.

Kaelros and Lysander leaped into action. Kaelros's Elemental Symphony flared to life, a cascade of fire and ice that clashed with the celestial weapons. Lysander moved with precision, his silver blade meeting the envoy's strikes with equal force.

Jin faced the leader directly, their energies colliding in a dazzling display of light and darkness. The envoy's sword blazed with divine power, but Jin's control over the Abyss allowed him to parry and counter with devastating precision.

"You think the Abyss will save you?" the envoy taunted, their strikes relentless. "It is a curse, not a blessing."

Jin's eyes burned with determination. "It's not the Abyss that defines me. It's my will."

With a surge of energy, Jin pushed the envoy back, unleashing a wave of dark energy that enveloped the battlefield. The celestial figures faltered, their light dimming against the overwhelming force.

A Message Delivered

As the dust settled, two of the envoys lay defeated, their forms dissipating into light. The leader knelt, their armor cracked and dim. Despite their defeat, they glared at Jin with unyielding resolve.

"You may have won this battle, Jin Shang, but the Council will not stop. You are an anomaly, a danger to everything we protect."

Jin stepped closer, his voice cold. "If the Celestial Council fears me, they should face me themselves. I'm done playing their games."

The envoy vanished in a burst of light, leaving only silence in their wake.

Preparing for War

Kaelros sheathed his weapon, his expression grim. "You've made your stance clear, Jin. But the Council won't take this lightly. They'll send more than envoys next time."

Lysander nodded, his gaze distant. "We'll need to prepare. If the Celestial Pantheon declares war, they won't hold back."

Jin's eyes glowed faintly with Abyssal power. "Let them come. I'm not afraid of gods."

As the night deepened, the stars above seemed to burn brighter, as if watching the mortal plane with growing intensity. The Celestial Pantheon had declared Jin Shang an enemy—but Jin was no ordinary foe.

With the Abyss under his control and his allies by his side, he was ready to defy the heavens themselves. The journey to Cosmic Movement had become a war, and Jin Shang was determined to emerge victorious.
