Chapter 18 - Then, is he your brother?

Yun-Tae didn't know how he ended up going along with them, but he found himself in the front seat of the car, sitting next to Deok-Ryu, who was handling the wheels.

Behind, at the back seat, was Si-woo and Chin-hwa. Chin-hwa was still asleep with his head resting on Si-woo's lap.

"Hwa is still so cute," she gushed over her little brother while gently and softly stroking his hair. "He can sleep through anything."

"Next time, you're driving." Deok-Ryu said, glancing at the back through the rearview mirror. "I want Hwa to sleep on my legs too."

"Oh, suck it up." Si-woo exclaimed and laughed.

Yun-Tae was a bit uncomfortable. First, he didn't even know their names and who they were to Chin-hwa. For all he knew, they were stalkers who were kidnapping him and since he happened to see them, he was taken as well to leave no witnesses.

It would suck if that were the case.

And then the second reason for his discomfort was that he did not know their names. And he felt like if he spoke out to turn, they would suffocate him with their pheromones.

"Um," nevertheless, he couldn't stay quiet while they might be in potential danger. "You never... You never told me your names and your..." He gulped. "Relationship with Chin-hwa."

"Oh, where are our manners?" Si-woo exclaimed. "Well, first off, my name is Sun Si-woo and the guy behind the wheels is my twin Brother, Sun Deok-Ryu."

"As for our relationship with Chin-hwa, isn't it obvious?" Deok-Ryu asked, smirking but his cool guy act fell as Yun-Tae shook his head and said,

"No, not really. The reason why I asked was because it was very unclear and I... Was worried."

"What were you worried about?" Si-woo asked.

"That..." Yun-Tae slowly lowered his head in embarrassment. "Chin-hwa was getting kidnapped and I, as a witness, was getting kidnapped as well."

A sudden silence filled the car and the atmosphere turned cold, giving Yun-Tae shivers. What was going on now?

Wait, were they really kidnappers? Was that why they turned cold? Because their plans had been found out?

"Ah," Deok-Ryu exclaimed. "If only that were possible," he muttered.

"But before we can take Little Hwa out of the country, Dad will have our legs chained."

"And father will confine us."

They looked dispirited.

These two had planned to kidnap their younger brother and have him to themselves for a week straight but there was no attempt that they had been successful. One way or the other, their parents always found them and they were punished too.

"I... I'm a bit lost." Yun-Tae said, not wanting to jump to conclusions.

"Oh, well, forget that." Deok-Ryu said and the cold air cleared out right away. "You wanted to know what our relationship with little Hwa was, right? Well, it's simple. He's our son." He said and earned a hard smack on the head from Si-woo. "Ouch."

"Don't listen to that moron." She said. "Well, he is like our son, no doubt." She added, her face slightly flushing. "But he's far closer than that, I'm afraid."

Yun-Tae watched this drama and lost a bit of his brain trying to figure it out. They were twins, no doubt, but weren't they a bit too... Well, hazardous?

"Then, is he your brother?" Yun-Tae asked, picking at the first thing that came to mind.

"You earn a gold star for that." Si-woo said.

"So, I'm right? You're both Chin-hwa's older siblings?" Yun-Tae asked, surprised that he actually got that right. He just made a guess and... Ah, he blinked.

Now that he looked at it, they both look alike and when compared to Chin-hwa, he looked like their offspring.

Well, that was a weird assumption but he just couldn't help but feel that way. He took a little out of both of them, so one would easily believe it if they were told Chin-hwa was their son.

'How strange.' he thought. "Then, why are you all bearing different last names?"

"Cause mom loves little Hwa more." Deok-Ryu subconsciously said, earning yet another smack on the head. "Ouch."

"Mom loves all three of us." Si-woo said. "But if she loves Hwa more, I won't see a problem with it. After all, he deserves all the love we can give."

"And that's why I said mom loves Hwa more." Deok-Ryu said, causing Si-woo to raise her fist, threatening to hit him again.

"Mom may love Hwa more but that's not the reason why we have different last names." Si-woo said and looked at Yun-Tae. "It's a personal matter."

Yun-Tae nodded.

"Oh, I see."

Well, that was normal. It's not like they were obliged to spill their family secrets to a stranger.

He was already surprised that they could say so much to a guy they just met and that showed how much they adored their brother.

Chin-hwa had a very loving family. He was so envious.

Yun-Tae rested his head on the window, gazing outside. But why would he keep it to himself? He always looked at Chin-Hwa as someone who didn't get along well with his family.

He never spoke about them and not once had he answered a call that belonged to them. At least, none that he had noticed.

Chin-hwa was so... Quiet and inclined like a soft flower. It was to the point that he thought his family was the cause of it, and that he was unfortunate to be in a family that didn't care about him, just like him(Yun-Tae). So, he tried his best to get close to Chin-hwa so he could help him get over whatever hole his supposedly unsupportive family had created in his heart, but there was always a wall between them.

Chin-hwa set so many boundaries that could not be seen with the naked eye, making Yun-Tae feel he was a sad child who was trying his best to put up a smile and not make his friends worry about him.

But now that he got to know he had such a family, a loving and overprotective family too, he felt he was the only unfortunate one after all and he just didn't know Chin-hwa at all. The real Chin-hwa.

Now he understood why all his efforts to patch up the hole in his heart didn't work out. There must've been no hole to begin with.

'Good for you, Chin-hwa.' he thought and found himself falling asleep for no reason. Maybe all that thinking just got him exhausted.

By the time they got to their destination, Yun-Tae jolted out of his sleep, startled. When did he fall asleep? And how did he fall asleep?

No matter what, they were still strangers, so he shouldn't have let his guard down.

"Are you awake?" He heard a voice from his door and saw Deok-Ryu had opened the door for him. "We're here."

"Here? Where is 'here'?" Yun-Tae asked and noticed the sun had already started setting.

"Here?" Deok-Ryu looked up. "Well, it's our family house."
