Chapter 32 - Chapter 32

"I'll do as you have said," he said, leaning back in his chair and his face darkened a bit, "but on one condition." He added.

As long as I don't have to set myself on fire.

"Alright. I am willing to do anything to fix this mess and have my life back," I said, not masking my desperation at all earning a smile from him.

"Good. I need you to spend the evening here." He said, getting up from his seat.

Wait. Did I just hear him correctly? Spend the evening here. For what?

I was still in my thoughts when he walked up to me and ran a hand through my hair, making me shift uncomfortably.

"I don't understand sir. W..Why do I need to spend the night here?" I asked, my voice a bit waverly.

"With me. Let's just say, doing a little extra work. " He whispered and just then he grabbed a huge chunk of my ass.

My brain short circuited for a second as rage surged through my body like fireworks.

"What do you say Amelia? You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours." His words added more anger to my already boiling temper.

Probably mistaken my silence for acceptance he took a step back from me and began unbuckling his belt.

What is wrong with these people?

I blinked once. Then twice and without thinking, my hand moved faster than my brain, delivering a slap so hard that it rebounded throughout the room. He tumbled so hard that he fell on his back, revealing his ugly dick from his halfway removed boxers. He looked so ridiculous as he rubbed his cheek, shock spreading across his face like I had just insulted his mother.

"W..What was that for?" He asked like he didn't just try now to take advantage of me.

Ask me that again and I'll give you two more slaps. I said to him in my head but all I could really utter was..

"Go to hell!" I snapped, already halfway to the door.

And with that, I dashed out of there like I had jet fuel in my feet, having mixed feelings of justification and regret. I stormed through the hallway, past Janice who was surprised to see walk past like that without any form of farewells...

I feel a lot worse than hopeless because my little attempt at getting things back to normal has just been dashed or I have made it even worse. How am I going to get across to Liam now?

I decided to head back to the hospital. If plucking my organs would help me raise money for my dad's surgery I was prepared to do anything to make my dad live because I just can't imagine my life without him. I have no one, no one at all except for him.

It seems as though the universe wants to give me one more chance because as I walked a few distance away from Sky blue hotel towards the hospital, I spotted Liam with two of his friends stepping out of a black Range Rover and walking into what seems like a private pack or garden. Without much hesitation, I sprinted towards their direction. Who cares about dignity at this point anyway? Definitely not me!

I caught up with them as they were about to enter the place.

"Mr Liam, please wait!" I said, trying to catch my breath."

LIAM

I turned around to see who could be shouting my name on the busy street, only to see Amelia the cleaning lady! Instantly a frown formed on my face.

Is she stalking me now?

She looks worse than the rooms and toilets she cleans for a living. Seeing her now I couldn't help but wonder how such a person can have such big guts?

"Did you follow me all the way here?" I asked with irritation.

"Isn't that the lady from the other night?" Felix asked with raised brows with his arm firmly around Hela's shoulders who had her face buried on the ground like she was hiding away.

"Yes," I answered.

"What does she want?" Felix asked curiously.

The three of us just came here to relax for the afternoon but it seems we would be having company.

"Good question. Why are you here? Have you come to fight for your boyfriend?" I replied mockingly, anticipating her feisty response.

There was none forthcoming and I stole a glance at Hela who was now scrolling through her phone as if she didn't know what was going on right here.

"I am not here for any trouble and I wasn't following you_ but I am glad I saw you. The thing is I've actually been to your office but I was told I can't see you without a prior appointment." She said, still trying to catch her breath.

Has she been running around the whole city or what?

"And why the hell are you looking for me?" I narrowed my gaze at her.

"I am actually here to talk about my behavior at the hotel that day," she said and I couldn't help but frown.

Is she trying to rub salt upon injuries by bringing up that incident from the hotel?!

"Felix, can we go inside already?" Hela whined, suddenly in a hurry to leave.

She must be nervous because if Amelia says a word about us her relationship with Felix would be definitely over. Well, that's her problem not mine.

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for that day. Actually I need to apologize to both of you.." her direction shifted to that of Hela and I could see the confused expression that flashed on Felix's face.

Amelia wanted to say more but just then.

"Hey!" Hela suddenly voiced out in an overly excited tone, cutting her short in the process.

"I'm sure Liam has forgotten whatever happened between you guys that day. Don't beat yourself up about it." She further added,, her face plastered with an artificial sweetness.

There was confusion written all over the cleaning lady's face and Hela narrowed her gaze to her as if she was going to turn to powder.

Amelia seemed confused about what Hela was playing at but I was fully aware. The cunning bitch is trying to act like a good girlfriend.

"Babe, you okay? You squeezed my arm so hard." Felix asked with curious eyes, flexing his fingers in discomfort.

"Sorry about that my love and I am perfectly fine," She replied with a strained smile

"I just don't like seeing people in pain. Cause this young lady seems to be going through a lot and I am just trying to help her," she further stated, pretending almost perfectly.

"I understand," Felix said, completely fooled.

"Sorry, is she your girlfriend?" Amelia asked with a confused look.

"Yeah, is there a problem?" Felix replied curtly.

"Oh…." Amelia said, her tone showing that she finally understood what Hela was trying to do. "Nothing at all"

She locked her eyes into Hela's, giving him what I could read as a subtle but accusatory gaze. Probably to let Hela know that she had leverage over her before she turned to face me.

"Mr Liam, I'm sorry for…"

"Hey, come on. It's fine." Hela cooed.

One would think that she is a sweet natured lady but I know she's just trying to cover up her frivolity.

"It's just that since then, I've not been able to get a job to sustain myself. And I have a hospital emergency to take care of so I'm stuck." Amelia said and just then Hela pulled her into a tight embrace

"Oh poor thing! Look, I can bet you that Liam has forgiven you. He may even offer you a job at his firm, so that you can take care of that emergency." Hela cooed as we went into the garden area and we all sat down on the bench at the beautiful garden.

What a cunning girl! She managed to deflect the issue from herself and rope me in with a job offer. That seems like a good idea to me though. I want to know what she's so confident about that made her slap me in the first place. I have to give Hela for that.

"Babe, why are you so interested in this? What did she do wrong anyways? What's all the fuss about?" Felix asked, quite confused and curious.

I don't blame him though If I were him, I'd be confused too. The guy is still oblivious to the fact that I've been piping his girlfriend and she's trying to cover it up with this desperate act.

"Amelia here acted very unprofessional to me a few weeks ago. And she was also arrogant about apologizing." I replied.

"I'm sorry, I regret what I did." She said, Her eyes darted between Hela and I again.

Did she just smirk at me?

"Liam she already said she's sorry, don't you think he should forgive her already.I just don't know why I like her. There's something about her."Hela said with a sly smile on her face.

Clown!

"Alright, fine." I said, slightly irritated that I was cornered by Hela's hyperactiveness.

"Thank you so much Mr Liam. It won't happen again. I promise!."

"I'll make sure of that because you'll be working with me from now on." I said, massaging my beards.

"What?" She asked in disbelief.

If only she knows that her life is about to go a lot worse from here.
