The peace in the village was never going to last... But I didn't expect it to end quite so soon.
Me and Selen and Clay went home to home, we spread the wealth of the emeralds and bought goods for our journey. In the end, we had several jars of meat and berries preserves, a new dress for me, and matching robes for Clay and Selen. We also picked out a tiny rag doll, and both Clay and Selen immediately fell in love with it.
An old man told us where we might buy a boat, from his younger brother on the coast not far from here.
We bought sweets and ate them with the elderly couple who had rendered aid to us that first night. We learned we were in the South and this village was an independent tribe of sorts.
