The next day, Caro woke up with dried-up tears on her face, and dark circles under her eyes, the pain she felt when she opened them, flooded yesterday's event from her arranged marriage to the betrayal she went through, today was her wedding day and it felt more like a burial to her, a voice came from downstairs shouting for her to get down, a voice she recognized as her stepmom's, she dragged her weak body down, to meet her stepmom with a wedding dress wrapped in a white transparent bag with the logo of vogue weddings drawn on it, Caro was surprised because this was the very first time Willa is getting something for her and this expensive was so surprising, just as Caro was picking the dress up, Lilah came downstairs with a smile on her face knowing what she had done to Caro.

Caro wanted nothing more but to leave their presence, but when Lilah saw the dress, she stopped her and said in astonishment.

"Mom, what is this? You got her a wedding dress from Vogue, Mom, why?" She cried to her mom

"Come on now dear, we have to let them believe she is you, and you are Gold, so I have to paint her Gold"

Willa said to her daughter, petting her hair, but when she turned to Caro, the Lovely look she had on her face was replaced with a look of hatred.

"What are you standing there for, take the dress and go dress up, Nanny Ma will help you, and pack your trash we leave in two hours, Lilah will stay behind of course so make sure her food is prepared and kept at the fridge"

Willa said almost screaming off the building

Lasewell POV

The day eventually came, and I couldn't wait to get it over with, this wedding was nothing but business, I had searched for her, the one who stole my heart but I was so young I did not gather enough information from her or I had no choice but to give in to my family disturbance, I will get married to this woman but I will not ever love her my heart is already given to her my first love, but I will respect my wife.

Lilah was her name, the one am getting married to, the first of Mr. Knight, he is a businessman, who is successful at what he does, lost his first wife and is now married to the wife's best friend, I made sure to ask my assistant to look into her background, she studied at a well-known school, a very popular school, now handles a small business which was given as a birthday gift by her father.

As I lay down on my bed looking at my wedding suit, all I could feel was Indolent; if not for the presence of my business partners at the wedding, my assistant would have taken my place, standing up, and Sluggishly making my way to the bathroom, I had a quick bath, dressed up and made my way downstairs, everyone was already prepared and waiting for me, with that we made our way out of the building, to the church where my wedding is been held.

As I stood at the altar waiting for her, it did not take long before I saw her, radiant and poised, with her hand delicately placed on her father's arm as they walked down the aisle together. Her wedding dress was not revealing; every inch of her was elegantly covered, enhancing her beauty with a touch of grace. The soft fabric flowed around her, shimmering slightly in the light.

When they reached their destination, her father gently handed her to me, as the wedding ceremony began. Our vows were exchanged, promises that echoed in the stillness of the room, and we slipped the rings onto each other's fingers, symbols of our commitment and respect, and were proclaimed as husband and wife.

Then it was time for our kiss, the moment everyone had been waiting for. As I lifted the veil to unveil her for our kiss, suddenly, I dropped dead. It was as if time itself had stopped; even the wedding attendees, also fell silent, their eyes wide with shock. You could hear the sound of a pin drop, the stillness so profound that it felt like an eternity.

The atmosphere shifted drastically. Faces turned pale, and gasps filled the air, as the reality of the situation sank in. What had just transpired? I could see the horror etched on the faces of the knights, their expression replaced by fear. There will be chaos; how dare they deceive me? How dare they marry me off to their black sheep of a daughter? They will pay with blood and loss.

Then what she did next stopped me in my tracks. With tears in her eyes, she stated that she had been forced to deceive me, that without her being here, she would have died. Her stepmom's face darkened with a surprised look, and the knight's expression was no better. I was left bewildered, grappling with the weight of her words. Why would they deceive me? Why would they treat their daughter this way? Was marrying me such a sin that they would go to such lengths to manipulate me?

The woman who was now my wife felt like nothing more than an empty vase. She had no skills and no ambition, and I had heard whispers of her sleeping around and partying a lot. The realization hit me hard—this sin they had committed against me must be punished.

How could they think it was acceptable to play with my feelings, to toy with my time? I felt a rage boiling inside me, a need for blood against this betrayal. The weight of betrayal hung heavy in the air, and I knew I had to confront this situation head-on, to seek the truth behind the facade that had been put in place. They'll suffer the repercussions.
