Caro POV
I watched Lilah sweat like a Christmas goat, with a shaking her voice
" How dare you say that about me, do you know who my fiancé is"
She said, I never knew she had a fiancee, who was that, my brain told me it was Seth but my heart refused to believe that, and just as I was finishing that thought I heard Seth's voice at the entrance saying
" Who is making you this angry dear"
With fake tears, Lilah ran to him holding his arms, pointing at me and my husband
"Babe, she slapped me and the man she is cheating her husband with pushed me, I did nothing to her but she slapped me, babe do something"
When Seth and she got close to us, suddenly Seth's face went white as if he saw a ghost, and he immediately pushed Lilah's hands away from him; he bowed his head slightly, saying.
"Mr. Wild, forgive my fiance, she spoke out of lack of knowledge"
After that word left his mouth, Lilah almost fainted; I could tell by the way her eyes rolled almost backward; she looked around, suddenly noticing everyone was watching; this was the first time I had seen Lilah scared like this; she looked dead.
"Forgive her? If not anyone, but you, you know forgiveness is not in my dictionary, she called my wife names and she ruined a dress, I got for her that she loved, do you understand how much this dress cost, she surely needs to pay for them, and since you are the fiance, withdrawing our investment would be fair enough"
Seth's face went white, looking at Lilah, mouthing what she had done; Lasewell gently took my hand and walked me out to our car.
On getting home, he was so gentle with me, helping me with my zip and calling on Nanny Lila to help me out of the dress, when I was done freshening up, and was about to sleep when I heard someone knocking, I permitted the person to come in, and the person was Lasewell, why was here again and why would he knock, why needing permission to enter a room in his own house.
" Am so sorry about what happened today, I will get you another dress"
He said looking so worried, he made his way to the bed, taking my hand, I panicked, taking back my hand, but he did nothing, he just continued talking
" Don't worry, I will never hurt you, and those who did will pay for that, you are precious to me, and I promise I will protect you"
No one has ever told me that, and without thinking, I gave him a peck on his cheek, lying back down and covering myself up.
Lasewell POV
I sat on her bed shocked; she had kissed me, oh well, not actually kissing, she had pecked me; if saying words like that makes her happy, then I would be singing them to her till I die; I don't care; she means the world to me. I stood up going towards her door and gently opened and closed it, tomorrow was going to be fun, immediately we left the ball, I had told James to organize a group of huntsman to kidnap Lilah, I did not want to do this now, but she had enough that she can chew, how dare she, not only did she spoiled my Caro's reputation she hurts her too, am so going to make sure her own reputation mixed up with dirt and her hurt will make her wish for death, the hand she used on my wife, will be cut off, and am surely going to enjoy seeing her pass through all this pain, for now having a healthy sleep comes first.
