Lila
I sat down on my bed with different thoughts in my mind.
However, I can't endure, not at this moment. Max doesn't deserve me at all. I am losing my patience now.
I pulled the zipper on my suitcase with shaky hands, the noise slicing through the stillness of the penthouse like a last announcement.
The room, which was once incredibly opulent, now seemed like a jail. The crystal chandeliers and the expansive city views had lost all significance.
I simply wanted to leave this place, and this was the right moment to say goodbye.
Clothes cascaded onto the floor while I tossed things into the suitcase. I wasn't concerned if I overlooked anything.
I was only concerned with getting away. Max's deceit, the intimidation from unidentified callers, the persistent sense of being controlled—it was overwhelming. It is something I can't continue to endure anymore.
"Lila, cease!" Max's voice pierced through from behind me, urgent and frantic.
