"Don't leave just like that, refusing to acknowledge what happened. That isn't right, is it?"
Mu Yunxi: "Do you believe I would disclose our affair to Nan Jinru?"
Xia Luhe indeed halted in her steps.
Mu Yunxi raised an eyebrow, visibly annoyed. "Do you like Nan Jinru that much?"
Xia Luhe turned around, her face streaming with tears.
Mu Yunxi: "Don't cry. I haven't even done anything yet."
He was starting to panic.
Xia Luhe: "So, you knew who I was all along? Knew who I liked?"
Mu Yunxi: "We've met before, remember?"
Seeing Xia Luhe's distraught expression, Mu Yunxi realized she truly had forgotten.
Xia Luhe: "Last night was intentional, wasn't it? You knew I was drunk, yet you still..."
Xia Luhe sobbed uncontrollably, her shoulders heaving.
Xia Luhe: "I hate you."
Mu Yunxi: "Okay, okay, my fault. Please, stop crying, will you?"
Mu Yunxi: "I apologize. I'll do anything just to stop your tears."
Xia Luhe: "Really?"
Xia Luhe looked up, her face tear-streaked, and Mu Yunxi's heart clenched at the sight.
Mu Yunxi: "Truly, as long as it's within my power."
Xia Luhe: "Then ask your sister to stop pursuing Jinru."
Mu Yunxi's expression darkened.
Mu Yunxi: "Do you like Nan Jinru that much? He never had feelings for you. In college, he and Shang were a couple. They would never have broken up had Shang not decided to study abroad. You wouldn't have had the chance to marry Jinru."
Mu Yunxi: "Now that Shang is back, Jinru will surely divorce you. Rather than clinging to a man who doesn't love you, why not find someone who truly does?"
Xia Luhe: "A man who truly loves me?"
Xia Luhe sneered.
Xia Luhe: "Are you referring to yourself? You're not Nan Jinru. I don't need your affection; I only want him."
Xia Luhe cried again, tears falling one by one.
Xia Luhe: "Can you help me, please?"
Xia Luhe: "I really, really love Nan Jinru."
Mu Yunxi felt a pang in his heart, his fists clenched.
Mu Yunxi: "How do you want me to help?"
Xia Luhe: "Could you persuade Mu Shang to give Jinru back to me?"
Xia Luhe looked utterly humble, clutching at Mu Yunxi's clothes, gazing up at him.
Mu Yunxi: "Nan Jinru is here in the bar right now. I can arrange a meeting for you two, but beyond that, there's nothing more I can do."
He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer.
Xia Luhe: "Okay, I want to see Jinru."
Joy flickered in Xia Luhe's eyes.
Mu Yunxi tightened his grip around her waist, feeling extremely annoyed.
Mu Yunxi: "I really don't see what's so great about him that you can't get over him."
He led Xia Luhe by the hand towards the bar.
As Xia Luhe followed Mu Yunxi, she consulted her system.
Xia Luhe: "System, can I go ahead and request that Mu Shang gives Jinru back to me today? It's two days early, but that should be okay, right?"
System: "666: No problem, advancing the timeline is fine, just complete the plot."
Hearing this, Xia Luhe's eyes lit up—she could finish the storyline early and then do whatever she pleased.
Mu Yunxi took Xia Luhe to Mu Shang's private room where they were playing a game; Mu Shang had just lost and needed to kiss someone for three seconds.
The room was buzzing, everyone expecting Mu Shang to choose Jinru, even Jinru himself anticipated it.
Just then, the door opened, and Mu Yunxi and Xia Luhe entered.
All eyes turned towards them.
Nan Jinru was momentarily stunned to see Xia Luhe.
Mu Yunxi pushed Xia Luhe forward towards Jinru.
Mu Yunxi: "Here she is. Say whatever you have to say, quickly."
Mu Shang: "Brother, she..."
Mu Shang was shocked to see Xia Luhe, not just by her appearance but feeling an oddly familiar connection. Remembering she had just lost the game, she promptly leaned down and kissed Xia Luhe on the cheek.
Mu Shang: "I just lost the game, so I kissed her. Was that three seconds?"
The room fell silent, everyone stunned, including Xia Luhe.
Was she mistaken? Why would she kiss her?
