Avalorian ship
"Sir we've detected another piece of the shards, are you sure we shouldn't try to get at least one…? I mean we have an advantage…?"
"Don't worry, we'll stick with my plans, I already have someone to deliver the shards to me when there are complete…So don't fret"
"Sir…but what if the person changes their mind…?"
"Don't worry, there won't, I assure you"
"Okay sir…!"
The young man responded, though still having some doubts, decided to believe his boss, as he has seen them through thick and thin.
"Sir, can I ask you a question…?" The young man pretended to be nervous but curiosity was present in his eyes to which amused the Man.
"What do you have to ask…?"
"Sir…umm the woman you're looking for, who is she…?" The young man asked in one go on seeing the twisted expression on his boss' face.
"That's not for you to know"
"Yes Sir" He responded with a small smile and continued about his business.
Suddenly, someone barged in, to the annoyance of the man, as he coldly made his report.
"Sir our spy has reported, they have discovered another piece, and are about to travel back in time to retrieve it, should we do something…?"
The man seemed to be in thoughts, after much thought he decided.
"Why not make a little move, just to scare them and keep them on their toes…?"
"Is the era they are traveling to recorded in that letter…?" He asked as his subordinate quickly unsealed the letter and read through it before answering his superior.
"Yes sir—it is said to be ancient Rome".
The man dismissed his subordinate, after making him leave he turned to the Young Man that asked him a question earlier.
"You wanted to know about the woman I have been looking for, right…?" The young man quickly nodded as the older man seemed to be in a rather good mood.
"Fine, I'll tell you a story and then you would tell me what you learnt, is that alright with you…?" The young man nodded excitedly, unaware of the danger hidden between those words.
And, the Man started what sounded like an extreme long fairy tale
Elynium headquarters
Tyra and Thai used a time portal, their first jump took them to ancient Rome, a bustling hub of politics and power. Tyra had to remind Thai to stay low-key and not draw attention to themselves, to which the man naturally ignored her, when about their mission.
They spent almost a month in ancient Rome before finally getting the Shard. With a sense of urgency and adrenaline rushing through her, she led Thai through winding streets, utilizing her training in evasion tactics. They ducked into dark alleys and blended into crowds as they retraced their steps back to the time portal disguised as a merchant's stall.
And to top it off. They had a fight with a bunch of people, who for some reason seemed to be after the piece too.
During the fight, Thai showed extraordinary combat skills coupled with his extraordinary human strength to which Tyra admired, secretly of course, as the fight for the Shard piece slowly transformed into a competition of who threw the best kicks and landed the best punches.
After the fight was over, and they had already retrieved the piece, they both returned home, retelling the story to the elders and Chief. Everyone became panicked, of the strange people's motives. worried there will be another attempt, the Elynium assigned more people to them after their actions were discovered, but there was no such attempt again to everyone's relief.
There was still caution in the air, everyone was careful and no one let their guards down.
Morgan returned on hearing what the organization went through in his absence, he was deeply troubled, apologizing to everyone, everyone saw this attitude as humble and some teased him about leaving them to spend time with his girlfriends, to which he denied. As time went on, more shard pieces were collected and more were revealed, the piece collected so far was only enough to form half a sphere, this took about ten months. The organization thought of assigning another team to collect the remaining pieces, but the fear of the information leaking out to the public slowly devoured most of them.
Tyra and Thai were still in charge of finding the remaining Shard pieces, but the Avalorian attacked again just as they were beginning to think their opponent was backing down.
They had no Idea what these people wanted, but if it was the Shono Shards, they could not give in, they thought of those people wishing for something that could alter reality, scared the Elynium and they were not planning to give in at least not any time soon.
Tyra, on the other hand, already knew the outcome of everything, but the reason behind it was unclear. "If our opponent had no Intel on us, how would the battle break out?"
"I kept asking myself this everyday"
Tyra Pov
One day, in a bar, a strange message popped up in my cell phone, it seems to be an ads, but it refused to go away no matter what I did, gritting my teeth, I tapped on it in anger, only for it to open, Playing a footage from the headquarters research office.
Tyra hurried up, paying the bill and rushed out, but before she could leave, she was pulled back and fell backwards into someone's arms.
"Where are you going…?" A deep masculine voice resounded in her ears, out of instincts, she pushed the young man away.
Turning to face him, surprise and shock was evident on her face, standing before her was Thai, who she thought was mute.
"Oh it's you…?" She stammered, worried she made a mistake.
The man just stared at her with gentle eyes, which was a surprise to her.
"Are you scared…?" His voice seemed familiar, something she never wanted to remember.
"It was you…wasn't it, you took advantage of me…?" Thai just chuckled with a smirk carved on his lips, he looked her in the eyes.
"You wanted it too" It was a statement.
