It was you in the video, right…?" Tears threatened to fall from her eyes.
"Yes it was me…" His voice with a hint of laughter.
"You betrayed everyone…!"
"I didn't betray anyone, I owe no one any explanation" His tone was firm
"Why are you here then…?"
"As a teammate, I just thought it kind of me to inform you that going back there would kill you"
"What…?" Tyra panicked.
"But they don't have the Shards pieces…how?"
"While we were collecting the pieces, they were also collecting theirs, and judging from how scared the Organization was and just watched them from afar, it's no wonder" He responded half smiling.
"By the way, if you still want to go, you're very free…?"
"Why are you telling me this? Why are you trying to save me? You never once spoke to me, you always gave me a cold gaze, so why the sudden care…?"
He sighed deeply, maybe thinking of a response.
"I don't know, to tell you the truth, I hated that organization and everything within it, and you where no exception"
"After that night…?"
"You can say that, after that night, I had no interest in seeing your corpse burn together with that hateful association…"
"I don't think you know who you guys are indirectly working for…?" Tyra stared daggers at him.
"What rubbish are you talking about…?"
"You're the smartest dumb person I have ever met" Tyra raised her hand about to give him a slap, but he effortlessly caught it, pinning her against the wall.
"What are you doing…Do you think I'm still drunk or something…?" She yelled at him.
"I kinda prefer when you are drunk…" He responded with a chuckle, sealing her lips in a kiss, only for her to bite his lips and head butt him, which she immediately regretted as she felt seriously dizzy from the blow.
"Why are you doing this…?" She asked in a choked voice trying to hold back her tears.
"You sound cute" He sealed her lips again, which she could not refuse, a drop of tears slipping down her eyelids.
She suddenly felt a cold sensation on her face, snapping her eyes open, she stared at Thai who had a drop of her tear on his finger.
"What are…?"
"Why do you care about them so much? They all hate you, even that Morgan guy is not a friendly friend, everyone is Just using you?"
"Have you ever wondered why the toughest mission with very low chance of survival is always given to you, I'm sure you take it as a coincidence right…?"
"Everyone wants you dead, but you want them safe, don't you think that a little too much…?"
"Stop trying to brainwash me…You know if the chief finds out about your betrayal you're doomed right…? I believe you're just scared!"
She struggled to be released but his grip on her only tightened.
"You are so stupid, I can't even laugh"
"Fine…go tell them, you will immediately be placed in the front line to die"
Saying this he let her go, as she blotted to the door returning the the headquarters.
"It's not true…I don't believe it, The Chief treats me like his own daughter"
Elynium headquarters
Two weeks later
On Tyra's return, she was informed that the elders wanted to have a word with her, surprised at first, she went to her room to change.
She suddenly heard gossip which on a normal occasion would ignore, but for some reason she was interested in today's gossip which as always was about her.
"I had that the strange battle ship has started moving"
"Me too, my rank leaders said we don't have to worry though, as long as the don't attack, we can assume there are not a threat, by the way Ace Tyra is around" The younger agent said in sarcasm as they both giggled
Suddenly they stopped talking and ran away, Tyra understood that someone had arrived, maybe to take her to the Elders, so she kept a blank and calm expression as she worked to the Chief's office.
"Good day sir…, any news so far…?" She asked with her head in a bow.
"Actually Tyra, there is an emergency, The battle ships at not ready and are still under construction, if that strange battleship attacks, we have not form of defense, and many of us will die" He spoke in an authoritative voice which he normally did, but for some reason it felt pressurizing and suffocating.
"Has his voice always had this effect…?" She thought to herself secretly biting her lips, which she normally does out of nervousness.
"What's the matter…?"
"Oh nothing sir…I just thought that it would be wise to attack the ship first"
"How do…?"
"We have access to advanced technology and weapons, the closest weapons we have to them is the satellite, the programmers can do the job, and even better, we can spy on them knowing their next move". She suggested hopefully
"That right…How didn't I think of that?" The Chief smiled.
"But you see, Tyra, we just had news that the people in that ship has as collected the other half of the Shard pieces, you don't need to go on missions any longer, you can just take it from them" An elder suggested
"Sir, I should take the Shards from them, how am I going to do that? I mean their security must be topnotch, I can't just steal their pieces…!" She tried to sound calm.
"How can he say that, or maybe I'm just overthinking everything he said?" She tried to assure herself that she was somehow influenced by Thai's words from days ago.
"Look, Sir, Elders, the best way to approach the situation is to confront them openly in a conversation. We can't just sneak into their ship without being detected, I'm sorry sir, but I can't do it".
This was the very first time in her life that she rejected a mission, so she sounded doubtful, she tried to explain herself better, hoping they would understand and see reason with her.
