It was 8:00 A.M. in the human world, and the morning sun gently filtered through the curtains. Rohan stirred, his eyes fluttering open as the warmth of the previous night flooded his memory. Beside him lay Nina, her features softened in peaceful slumber. The events of the night before replayed in his mind: the shared confessions, the laughter, the passion. His heart swelled with a sense of fulfillment and nervous exhilaration.
Turning to Nina, he couldn't help but admire her delicate features—the curve of her lips, the gentle rise and fall of her chest beneath the blanket. In that moment, she seemed otherworldly. As if sensing his gaze, Nina stirred and opened her eyes. Their gazes met, and her cheeks turned a lovely shade of crimson.
"What are you doing?" she asked, her voice still heavy with sleep, tinged with a blend of shyness and playfulness.
"Just appreciating how beautiful my girlfriend is," Rohan replied with a soft smile, his voice steady despite his racing heart.
Nina blushed even deeper, biting her lip as her hand reached up to brush a strand of hair away from her face. "Stop staring, idiot," she murmured, her embarrassment evident. Despite her words, she moved closer to him, resting her head on his chest. "Last night was... magical. Thank you, Rohan."
"It was for me too," Rohan admitted. His arms wrapped around her, holding her close as they basked in the intimacy of the morning. "I love you, Nina."
Her breath caught, and her smile turned tender. "I love you too."
After a moment of silence, Nina shifted, sitting up and clutching the blanket to her chest. "I should call my mum," she said suddenly. "She doesn't know I stayed here, and she'll worry."
Rohan nodded. "What are you going to tell her?"
Nina chuckled softly. "I'll just say I was at a friend's house, and it got too late to come back." She dialed her mother's number, her voice sweet and measured as she reassured her over the phone. Though the conversation included the usual motherly lecturing, Nina handled it with ease, offering soothing explanations. After the call, she turned back to Rohan.
"Done. Now, why don't you clean up while I prepare breakfast?" she suggested with a smile.
Rohan agreed and headed to the bathroom. As the sound of running water filled the small apartment, Nina busied herself in the kitchen. The aroma of cooking soon filled the air, and when Rohan emerged, freshly showered, he was greeted by the sight of a lovingly prepared meal.
"It smells amazing," Rohan said, seating himself at the small dining table.
Nina smirked, placing the plates down. "You'll like it even more if I feed you with my hands."
Rohan blushed but grinned. "I wouldn't mind that at all."
Nina giggled, picking up a bite with her fingers. "Say aaaaa," she teased, bringing it to his mouth. The moment was playful and intimate, filled with a sense of ease and affection.
As they finished breakfast, Nina suddenly said, "Did I mention something important?"
Rohan looked up curiously. "What?"
"I'm the Demon Lord's daughter."
The revelation hit Rohan like a thunderbolt. "Wait, what?! You're Sid's daughter? And we... last night... oh no." His face drained of color as the weight of her words sank in.
"Do you regret it?" Nina asked softly, her voice steady despite the tension.
Rohan reached across the table, taking her hands in his. "Never. I don't care if Sid himself comes after me. I love you, Nina."
Overwhelmed by his sincerity, Nina leaned forward and kissed him deeply. Whatever challenges lay ahead, they would face them together.
