Deep in the forest, away from the camp, Yohan stood beside Aisha, his Demon Hunter trainer. The lush greenery around them provided a serene backdrop, but Yohan's mind was anything but calm. The events of the past few days weighed heavily on him, yet the curiosity about his powers and destiny burned brighter.
"So, Aisha," Yohan began, his voice hesitant but curious, "how do I control my powers? Where do I even start?"
Aisha turned to him, her soft smile accompanied by a playful wink. "We'll get there, Yohan. But first, if you have questions, ask away. I'll do my best to answer."
The floodgates opened in Yohan's mind. "What are Demon Hunters? Why do we exist in the first place?"
Aisha tilted her head, her expression thoughtful. "Demon Hunters are humans born with extraordinary powers. Each of us has unique abilities, but the most common are super strength, self-healing, and incredible speed. As for why we exist... even I don't know. The organization we belong to believes it's to protect innocent lives."
Yohan nodded, processing her words. "How many of us are there? And these unique powers—what are they exactly?"
"There are 193 Demon Hunters," Aisha explained. "One for each country. Each hunter possesses a special power exclusive to them, something no other hunter can replicate. You, Yohan, have one too. You just don't know what it is yet."
Yohan's eyes lit up with a mix of excitement and apprehension. "I hope it's something cool. But what happens if a Demon Hunter dies? Do their powers disappear? And are there female Demon Hunters too?"
Aisha chuckled, pointing her finger playfully at him. "Of course, there are women, dummy. Don't think you guys hog all the powers. And when a Demon Hunter dies, their power is transferred to a newborn in the same country. If the newborn turns out to be evil, the organization steps in to eliminate the threat, ensuring the power finds a new host."
Yohan's expression turned serious. "If I turned bad, would you... would you kill me?"
The light-hearted atmosphere vanished in an instant. Aisha's gaze hardened, and her voice dropped to a whisper. "Never. You're special, Yohan. I've been waiting for the right moment to tell you this... I love you. I'd protect you no matter what, even if the whole world turned against you."
Yohan's heart skipped a beat, his cheeks flushing. He stammered, "Aisha... I... I love you too. From the moment I saw you, I felt like we'd met before."
Tears welled in Aisha's eyes as she rushed to hug him tightly. Without hesitation, she kissed him, her lips soft and warm. Yohan felt as though time had stopped. It was his first kiss, and it left him breathless.
As their lips parted, Aisha smiled through her tears. "I'll always be by your side, as your partner and lover. Promise me, Yohan—never talk about dying again."
"I promise," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. "We'll always be together."
Aisha stepped back, her grin returning. "Alright, time for training! First question—do you actually want to be a hero and save people?"
Yohan shrugged. "Honestly, I couldn't care less about being a hero. But since meeting you, life's been a lot more exciting. So yeah, let's give it a shot."
Aisha laughed. "I thought you'd say that. Now, let's start. You need to build your body to handle your powers. A billion push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, and a billion-kilometer run daily should do it."
Yohan stared at her, wide-eyed. "That's insane! Who could even do that?"
"You're not normal, Yohan. Besides," Aisha added with a mischievous smirk, "if you succeed, I'll reward you with a kiss."
Her teasing tone left Yohan speechless. Determined, he got into position, ready to prove himself.
