LUNA
As I hovered over the battle scene, I noticed Einar struggling to overpower the psychotic boy, Benedict.
The air was thick with tension, and the very atmosphere seemed to vibrate with the promise of violence. Einar's movements were swift and agile, but Benedict's sheer power and madness made him a formidable opponent.
"Get everyone out of here!" Einar ordered the light-bearing Elf girl, Zuria, who stood beside him.
Her eyes widened in concern, but she nodded and quickly evacuated everyone still inside. The sound of scurrying feet echoed through the school yard, a testament to the fear that Benedict inspired.
I turned my gaze back to the battlefield, where Benedict burst into laughter, summoning hellfire-like flames to rain down from the ceiling. The flames danced and crackled, casting flickering shadows across the arena. Einar used mana to cloak himself, dodging the flames with incredible agility. His movements were a blur, his feet barely touching the ground as he weaved between the flames.
As he drew closer to Benedict, who continued to release massive amounts of mana, Einar attempted an attack. However, Benedict increased the range of flames surrounding his body, making it seemingly impossible for Einar to get any closer.
"How pitiful of you... boy,"
I whispered into Einar's ear, my voice laced with mockery. "You, who were capable of killing me, are now being brought down to your knees by an opponent far weaker than I was." My breath caressed his ear, sending shivers down his spine.
I grasped Einar's hand, and he looked at me with frustration, ignoring me as he always did. His eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in determination. He rushed forward once more, unleashing a water spell known as Water Pistol. The massive bullet of water shot towards Benedict, but he was unfazed.
The water bullet struck Benedict with incredible force, but he barely flinched. The flames surrounding his body seemed to absorb the water instantly evaporating it, growing even stronger and more intense. Benedict retaliated, his speed increased as he threw punch after punch infused with his flame magic. Einar blocked and dodged the attacks, but sustained damage to his hands with each block.
"You're... you're holding back," Benedict sneered, his eyes blazing with madness.
"You think you can defeat me without using your true power?" His voice was laced with contempt, and Einar's eyes narrowed in response.
As I watched this unfold, I couldn't help but wonder: what had changed Einar so much? The boy I knew two years ago was cold, ruthless, calculated, and brilliant. Every move he made was part of a brilliant strategy carefully leading into the next.He would have killed his opponent without hesitation. But this slightly older version of him, he was different. He....was gentle, caring, and truly wanted to make others happy. Though he always pretended to be cool and nonchalant he truly deeply cares about those around him.
A picture formed in my mind: the Elf girl, Zuria. Her presence had softened Einar, making him weak and vulnerable. I could sense the bond between them, a deep and abiding connection that went beyond mere friendship.....perhaps family or something much more.
The exchange of blows continued, with Einar eventually able to withstand the flames with ease, it seems his mana had adapted quite rapidly. Benedict's rage intensified, and he cast a magnificent spell that even Einar couldn't escape without suffering severe damage. The boy surrounded Einar with balls of fire that shone as bright as the sun, accompanied by four serpents of fire.
Einar stood frozen, unable to think of a way out. That's when I took my opportunity.
"Well, well, looks like he's got you," I said, as the space around us faded into darkness. My voice was laced with amusement, and Einar's eyes narrowed in response.
"Get out of my head!" Einar growled, his voice laced with irritation. His eyes blazed with anger, but I could sense the fear lurking beneath.
I giggled, reappearing behind him. "You see, Einar, there are only two ways out of this.
Either you die, and he goes after everyone you love, including that Zuria girl you hold so dear..." I whispered into his ear, my breath sending shivers down his spine. I showed him images of Zuria's death at the hands of Benedict, and replayed it a thousand times over in his mind driving him to near,Einar's eyes widened in horror.
"Or... you could embrace your power and kill this boy before he has the chance to harm those you cherish," I repeated, showing him more images of Zuria's demise this time more horrendous than the last. My voice was laced with persuasion, and Einar's eyes narrowed in response.
The silence that followed was palpable. I moved backward, returning reality to Einar's state of mind. As the attacks drew closer, I watched with anticipation.
And then, it happened. A new darkness was born, one that was darker than dark, blacker than black. Einar's violet eyes shone with an otherworldly intensity, and his warm aura turned cold and menacing. The ancient markings on his right hand turned pitch black running all the way down to his fingers...
...and the air around him began to freeze. His breath visible in the cold air, Einar's eyes gleamed with a fierce determination.
"I'll show you true power," he growled, his voice low and menacing.
Benedict's eyes widened in surprise as Einar's aura exploded outward, a dark and foreboding presence that seemed to fill the entire arena.
"You shouldn't have come here," Einar snarled, his eyes blazing with fury.
With a swift and deadly motion, Einar struck out at Benedict, his fist flying through the air with incredible speed and power. Benedict tried to defend himself, but Einar's attack was too fast, too strong.
The sound of the impact was like thunder, shaking the very foundations of the arena. Benedict stumbled backward, his eyes wide with shock and pain.
Einar pursued him, his fists flying in a deadly rhythm. Benedict tried to defend himself, but Einar's attacks were relentless, merciless, brutal.
I watched with a mixture of awe and fear as Einar's darkness consumed him. He was no longer the boy I knew, but a powerful and terrifying force of nature, no he was much more than a force of nature...
"Well done, Einar," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "You've finally tapped into your true potential."
Einar turned to me, his eyes narrowing. "Get out of my head," he growled.
I smiled, vanishing into his shadow. "Put on a good show for me, Einar," I whispered, my voice echoing in his mind.
And with that, I was gone, leaving behind the birth of a new darkness.
