Chapter 20 - "He's Everywhere!"

One unforseen person, one unforeseen damn event and this was the consequence. If only she had known Hive would have scouted this place and prepared much better. Now she had to constantly change her plans on the fly. Just because of the unexpected appearance of one person. Was that young man even a person?

How could his ability cover so much ground? Seishin had never met anyone else who could manipulate souls, or at least replicate something akin to it. Yet Purple Coat had a means of surveillance which was spread across a large portion of Xaymaca's population.

Right after the events of the meeting Seishin began to sense a innumerable amount of the soul fragment like beings. The young man had obviously taken precaution on a much wider scale than she had thought or could have predicted.

It was becoming increasingly difficult to turn the people into her vessels. No matter how random a person was they would end up having one of the abominable things attached to them.

She had to speed up her plans several times their initial intended time of enactment. Hive had to use the vessels which were already attained to quickly find unmarked people way faster than she usually had to.

The only reason she was able to get ahead of the rapid expansion of Purple Coat's surveillance was because of the teleportation demon she had soul manipulated into submission.

He was accompanied by one of Seishin's soul fragments inside his body, Hive's soul fragment would detect the otherwise completely elusive soul fragments of Purple Coat and notify the teleportation demon beforehand.

It would then swoop in and kidnap the victims in that area before Purple Coat could tag them.

She had to find out who he is related to and take them hostage to put a stop to this. Achieving that task was extremely difficult, since no one even knew any relatives or loved ones for him since his identity was completely unknown.

Even Tamashi didn't have any information lying around for her to find. Her vessel's husband believed him to be an orphan or he didn't share the identities of Elite Force members with anyone, not even his wife.

That said for the time being that particular plan was at a stand still. Since neither Seishin or her subbordinates could locate the only person with a close connection to him.

The bubble user girl who went by the name Float was nowhere to be found, maybe just nowhere that Hive had searched or was willing to let any of her people go.

If she had known that this would happen she would have steered clear of him. Her provocation and recruitment attempt was done with two goals in mind. Seishin was telling the young man the truth when she told him that she already estimated the high percentage chance that he'd say no.

However that was only half of the truth, she had intended to rile up the upper echelons then sit in on the meeting and learn what contingencies they could put in place.

Sadly Purple Coat had thwarted that plan and now because of this unforseen occurrence, all of her other plans were being thrown into disarray as well. Based on that ability Dominaire and Tamashi mentioned, Seishin was weary of taking any drastic measures. He was apparently capable of using some form of spacial manipulation.

The probability of him being able to teleport to the location of the marked people was extremely high. She was going to have to create several distractions to split his attention and put preventive measures in place.

Just in case Purple Coat did indeed have the ability to control several bodies. She also needed to move her organisations base of operations soon.

Seishin intended to make the demon focus it's efforts on finding Float, not yet tho, relocating as many people as possible to their underwater fortress was of utmost importance. If that wasn't achieved Hive would lose her expendable army.

This took precedence over capturing Float because the probability that she wasn't marked with one of Purple Coat's soul fragments was nil.

She would have been downright idiotic to risk wasting the opportunity to capture more future vessels, especially on the extremely slim chance that the demon could teleport Float out of the young mans range before he arrived.

What's to say he might not just track it and find their underwater base instead? Seishin was of the belief that Purple Coat could teleport and if anything even remotely suspicious happened to any of the marked citizens he would show up.

It was best not to find out. Not until she knew more about him and found a way to deal with him.

Chiru hadn't arrived yet, Dominaire was out of commission for the time being, the only thing keeping him in check was the fact that his son had already been marked with a soul fragment. He was an unwilling accomplice after all but knowing that she could erase his sons soul at any given time, kept the otherwise rabid dog on a tight leash.

She didn't intend to make him a vessel, not at the moment. He was still too strong willed, he needed to be broken. When he was she would have a much easier time manipulating his soul to her will. Then he would make a fine vessel and a rather powerful one at that. Seishin couldn't wait. Nothing was more fun than breaking a strong willed, powerful man.

The day after the meeting Purple Coat was spotted buying a ton load of groceries in the Basuketto district. Before heading back to wherever he had come from, the notorious young man visited the place where Seishin had met him.

He went and stood where her soul fragment had retreated from the body of the little child, gradually turning his head in every direction. It was as if he was trying to triangulate the radius in which the fragment could have gone.

This was witnessed by one of Hive's vessels. She began passing soul fragments to animals, having already calculated that they wouldn't be placed under surveillance.

Seishin was now using them to monitor the movements of all the individuals who were capable of ruining her plans. Especially the ones with a higher probability of doing so.

One of her vessels was with Tamashi almost at all times, so she knew that he wasn't making any apparent moves. He was constantly purifying atmospheric mana and imbuing diamonds with the purified mana.

It wasn't until one of her animal vessels, an eagle started spotting multiple wind clones that Seishin realized how wrong she was. It was a lucky thing that she had already rounded up all the unmarked people before the Supreme magi had caught wind of it.

The wind clones were observing the actions of everything and everyone in their immediate vicinity.

The kingdom was in utter chaos by this point. Just as she had planned. Despite most of her plans getting thrown into disarray and the size of the army she had initially intended to amass becoming significantly smaller, things still ended up more or less the way she wanted them.

She was now steadily turning the kidnapped people into her vessels and the kingdoms strongest had been powerless to prevent it.

Seishin had also prevented Chiru from entering Xaymaca via a plane or ship. Seeing as they were on high alert because of the sheer distructiveness of her abilities.

Instead her right hand woman had been transported in style. Private teleportation services express. Now that she was here it was time to create anarchy.

She would be paired with the demon so that he could assist her with dealing with Purple Coat. Seishin had just the plan in mind, as powerful as he might be Chiru's ability could definitely kill him.

Just so long as she didn't have to deal with several of him that is. However Seishin already had too much evidence pointing to there being more than one of him, that multiple soul fragments thing was a dead giveaway.

Some teleportation for a quick escape or assistance with sending Chiru's attacks in multiple unpredictable directions should help with that.

The biggest advantage Seishin had however, was the undead souls still trapped within her vessels. Seishin hadn't erased the souls of her victims, before fighting the kingdoms mages she would use that to her advantage.

It wasn't time for that yet, this was phase one. The hostages would be utilized in phase two. One of Seishins vessels smiled, looking at the back of her vessels husband while lying in bed.

In the underwater fortress another vessel smiled and several thousand new vessels smiled in unison.

Outside the Gold Badgers Guild's hidden headquarters there were four people heading towards the glass which was used to transport people inside by Garasu.

A lone figure stepped out of the shadows that were cast along the walls of the cavern. It wore a white mask with dark spots splattered randomly across it's surface. The orifices which the eyes should have been visible through were shrouded in unfathomable darkness.

"Purple Coat, we have a delivery courtesy of Hive. How nice of you to meet us part way to collect!" Enchantress said while watching the young man wearily. "I was anticipating more of a welcome party, what a pity we were just about to knock too. Well to be more precise, Chiru here was about to knock." She said gesturing to another of the women present among the four strangers.

"Is that so? Well sorry to disappoint i'm home alone. You wouldn't happen to have any of the missing persons here with you, would you?" The young man asked nonchalantly.

"No we don't. I didn't take you for the type to be into human trafficking to be honest, i'm surprised. I thought master said you were a decent young fellow. That's not the delivery we're here to make, this delivery is just for you."

As she finished speaking three figures began shimmering into existence. Purple Coat's head turned in their direction then he froze. One of the figures was a young woman who seemed to be in her early twenties, another was a woman of maybe about late forties to early fifties.... and the final figure was a noble looking man in his prime.

Purple Coat's body seemed to tremble with seething rage as his head turned back towards the four intruders. There was a massive outburst of mana, they began moving to avoid the impending attack but before they could a trail of blood appeared on Enchantress's neck.

"I see that got your true self out into the open." She said her voice coming from just beside the injured body as it shimmered out of existence. Only to reform in the spot where the new voice had come from.

By the time she was finished speaking two massive black orbs appeared in the air, then descended rapidly towards them destroying everything in their path.

All four of the intruders and the three figures standing close by were sucked into the black orbs and ripped into bloody pieces.

Not a soul survived, except for Purple Coat. Who now stood there looking at the spot where the figures of his adoptive family had stood only mere moments earlier.
