Chapter 21 - And So it Begins

Seishin was pleasantly surprised. As it turned out Purple Coat had a very distructive ability. Before the illusion was even fully dispelled, she immediately instructed them all to flee. Chiru or no Chiru it was best to avoid fighting the young man at all costs if they didn't have to.

Black holes, why did he have the ability to manifest something that deadly? The only thing that would prevent him from carrying out mass murder on her army, was the fact that she would be using the bodies of the still very alive civilians.

Purple Coat was every bit as dangerous as Tamashi. She would have to tweak her plans, again.

Apparently the young man didn't fear for his own life, is deepest fear was that he would be the cause of the death of his loved ones. There was only one positive in this revelation.... and it was that she now knew their faces.

There was one major issue with that however, it was the fact that neither Seishin's vessels nor her subbordinates had seen any of those people. How was she supposed to find them, if she didn't even know their names?

"Silly me, i now have the memories and experiences of a significant portion of the kingdoms people. All i have to do is search their memories for these people. Problem solved!" Seishin exclaimed aloud.

Finally some good news regarding Purple Coat which was actually to her benefit. While several of her other vessels perused plans and back up plans for the back up plans, the rest were tasked with combing through the past memories of each and every individual in their possession.

Back at master Dominaire's enormous guild headquarters, things were shaping up to be rather interesting. After his crushing defeat at the hands of the Permaclone of Purple Coat's apprentice, Fade had devoted himself to mastering his abilities to a different degree.

The young man had now discarded his usual cowardly way of fighting along with his preferred battle strategy. In the short period of time since the Elite Force Tournament, the young man was now able to alternate between invisibility and intangibility almost seemlessly.

Seishin's primary vessel in Xaymaca smiled with satisfaction at this development. 'Ah... those abilities of yours could be quite useful at the moment, perhaps it is time i get started with breaking your father. I will require his power soon anyways, especially in light of certain recent revelations.' She thought to herself.

Moments later Hive's previously inactive soul fragment expanded within Fade's body and the young man lost the ability to control anything about himself. His mind, body and will, were now under the complete control of Bane's leader.

Fade disappeared from the spot where he had recently been training. After a short while his silhouette coalesced into existence, coming to a halt in the presence of his father, who now had a pleasantly surprised expression on his face.

As his son's mouth began to move tho, all life seemed to drain from Dominaire's face and he became deathly pale.

The voice coming from the young man's body was not his own.... but the painfully familiar voice of Hive or Seishin. Whatever the detestable woman chose to call herself.

"Seishin no, you promised. You promised that if i did as you asked you wouldn't take my son. I have done everything you asked of me. You have Tamashi's wife, you got to enter more of Banes members into the Elite Force. Please don't take my son!" He pleaded, the desperation in his voice increasing with each word.

"I appreciate it. Really, i do. In fact that's why i'm not going to kill him. His soul is still intact so worry not, he's just... well, mine." The woman said not a slither of sympathy in her voice.

Dominaire reached out to touch his son but before he could, Fade simply disappeared. Erasing his presence and becoming intangible almost instantaneously. He could do nothing, Seishin was in his son's body. So there was no tangible construct of the woman for him to threaten or harm, to force her to relinquish control of his son's body.

So he had no choice but to simply stand there and watch, as his son reappeared not even two feet away from him, looked at him with no sign of recognition apparent in his eyes. Then turned and continued to walk away.

Dominaire screamed at the top of his voice overwhelmed by despair. "Noooooo, you bitch." Not even three seconds later, there was a reply from inside his own head. "How disrespectful, you do know that i can hear you since i placed a soul fragment inside you after the meeting right?"

Dominaire's facial features stiffened... as he quickly fell silent, clenching his cheekbones.

Meanwhile, somewhere inside a tier four segment of the demon dimension... "Kangae, Kangae... wake up, what happened to you?" Renai the vice master of the Gold Badgers Guild inquired, while desperately trying to shake her guild mate awake. He had abruptly become unresponsive in the middle of a conflict, losing consciousness only a few seconds later.

He was one of the most talented individuals in the entire kingdom. Kangae was well revered and respected, even by the guild masters. There were very few who could manipulate mana to such a degree that they could siphon mana from even those among the upper echelon. And even fewer that could hold their own in a fight against them, especially with only the utilization of refined mana manipulation.

Even among those individuals, there was none like him. Kangae was a one in a million. His innate affinity was mana manipulation. Most magi were only capable of utilizing pure mana manipulation and siphoning at a rudimentary level.

Kangae on the other hand, possessed such intricate levels of mana reinforcement and siphoning, that he could render the most powerful abilities almost useless. The young man couldn't utilize anything besides raw mana, despite that he could achieve speed on par with guild master Dominaire, soar on the wind as freely as the Supreme Magi and lift more weight than an elephant.

He rarely ever became ill or lost a fight. That's why Renai was completely caught off guard by his sudden, inexplicable collapse. It was quite unexpected and unusual to say the least.

Renai was filled with indescribable relief when the young man's eyes finally fluttered open. "Kangae what happened, you just fell unconscious in the middle of our battle with the demons? Tier four demons, if you were being accompanied by someone weaker we would have both died."

He slowly raised his head from her lap, looking around obviously dazed. She had dismissed the diamond reinforcement she usually adorned herself with from her body, allowing him to rest against her comfortably while he slept.

"It, it was one of those headaches again. The one's i've been experiencing over the past month or so." He replied his voice a bit hoarse.

"An headache?" She asked extremely surprised. "What magnitude of a headache would it take to render someone unconscious, especially someone like you?"

Kangae looked at her with confusion written all over his face. Then his eyes widened. "Who, who are you?" He sputtered obviously alarmed.

"What, what do you mean who am i?" Renai exclaimed utterly terrified. "Kangae Nai, it's me, the woman you love!"

Kangae stared at her with one of his eyebrows slightly raised. "What?" He replied genuinely baffled. "I have no lover!" He exclaimed. Then his brows furrowed as he was obviously considering something. Then he replied: "Oh I do have a lover but you're not her!"

Renai gasped, utterly shocked. "You, have another lover... you have a lover and it's not me?" She asked, tears forming in her eyes.

She reached out and grasped his face between her hands but he jumped up from her lap, began hovering in the air, then spat. "Do not try to lay a hand on me again or you will lose it wench, i'm a very loyal man. I am nothing like the ones you're obviously used to."

Renai was too shocked to process every detail of what had taken place so far, she was too overwhelmed with emotions. Who wouldn't be? After abruptly losing someone they loved with all their heart in such a manner.

"Who is this lover to whom you refer Kangae?" She asked her voice seething with sorrow. He looked at her with a genuine smile slowly forming on his face. Then replied: "My one true love, is Kenbosho!"
