Chapter 13
It was a sunny day when Kim and Tom headed to her mother Kris Jenner's house, where a big family lunch awaited. Kim felt a mix of nervousness and excitement as she sat next to Tom. They had already shared important moments together, and after winning the approval of her children, she knew that this was the moment to officially integrate Tom into the heart of her family.
When she arrived, Kim took a deep breath and gave an encouraging look to Tom, who was impeccably dressed. He carried a bouquet of flowers for Kris and, with his polite manner, seemed completely calm—a striking contrast to Kim's anxiety.

Next to Kris, Kendall and Kylie looked at each other and held back their laughter. Kendall didn't miss the chance to joke:
— Kim finally brought "Mr. 007" into the family. I have to admit, you're really charming, Tom.
Kim rolled her eyes, while Tom smiled, already familiar with her sisters' humor.
— Hey, hey, leave my boyfriend alone! — Kim said, giving her sisters a light push. — You've had enough fun talking about him behind my back, now that we're together, try to be nice, okay?
— We'll try... — Khloe said, laughing and giving Tom an amused look. — But it's hard. He's practically a real-life spy. That's fascinating!
Kris led them to the outside area, where a table was set for lunch. Kourtney and her children were already there, and as soon as Tom showed up, he quickly caught the attention of Kim's nephews. The conversation remained light as everyone sat down and lunch began to be served.

Kylie, always direct, leaned forward and asked:
"What was the most dangerous place you've been? Is there a country that really scared you?"
Tom thought for a moment before answering.
"It's hard to pick just one. Overall, some places in the Middle East and Central Asia were challenging, but the danger was greater than what we were doing there. When you're on intelligence missions, it's not the country itself that scares you, but the specific situations."
Everyone was hanging on every word. Even the children were impressed, especially when Tom mentioned that he had had to learn several languages to be able to blend in with different cultures. He spoke lightly, without going into details, but the way he described his adventures fascinated everyone.
Kim looked at her sisters and smiled, proud of how he was connecting with each of them.
As the conversation continued, Corey, Kris's partner, commented:
"I'm impressed by how calm you seem, Tom. After so much risk, it seems like nothing makes you nervous anymore."
Tom laughed and replied:
"I admit that today's meeting was a little more challenging." You are Kim's family, and she means a lot to me.
Kris smiled, pleased with the answer, and gave Kim a loving look.

"Mommy, do you think he passes the family test?" Khloe asked playfully.

Tom smiled, holding Kim's hand.
— I understand, and I'm ready for it. Kim and the kids have already shown me how wonderful this chaos can be.
With that answer, everyone laughed, and the lunch ended with hugs and warm exchanges. When it was time to leave, Tom said goodbye to everyone with genuine affection.

Tom paused for a second and laughed.

As they spoke, Kim's phone buzzed again with a call from Kris.
"It's my mom," she whispered to Tom, standing up and answering the call. "Hi, Mom."
Kris wasted no time in getting straight to the point.
"Kim, honey! It's everywhere! Have you seen the news?" she asked, her voice a mix of concern and excitement.
"Yes, Mom. I just did," Kim replied, trying to remain calm.
"I wish they knew how amazing Tom is," Kris continued. "But, well, if you need any advice, I'm here to help."

Hanging up, she turned to Tom and told him about their conversation. He listened, smiling understandingly.
"You know, Kim," he began, holding her hand affectionately. "I understand your need to keep our relationship out of the spotlight, especially in the beginning. I'm with you no matter what you decide.
She squeezed his hand back, grateful for his understanding.
