Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Elevator Incident

Yaoyao's large, watery eyes couldn't help but steal glances at the man who had entered the elevator. The moment their eyes met, she quickly lowered her head and clumsily pressed the button for the first floor.

As the elevator began to move, Yu Aotian lifted his gaze toward the corner where a surveillance camera was mounted.

Control Room.

"Aww, Aotian really is sharp. Even though I've already turned off the indicator light, he still noticed. Ugh, fine, fine, I'll shut it down completely. Just stop glaring at me, okay? You're scaring me," Longqi muttered, glancing at the screen showing Yu Aotian staring directly into the camera. Grudgingly, he disabled the surveillance system.

"Tsk, can't watch your 'performance'? Fine, I'll just watch something else. At least Miss Aoi is way more… 'blessed' than your little leading lady." With a mischievous grin, he opened a drawer and pulled out a cherished DVD.

Inside the Elevator.

With the surveillance camera fully deactivated, Yu Aotian's lips curled into a sly smile as he shifted his gaze to Yaoyao, who had her back to him.

"What's your name?"

"Huh?" She froze for a moment, then stiffly turned around. "Sir, are you… talking to me?"

"Heh, do you see anyone else in here?"

Maybe a ghost? "M-my name is Luo… Yaoyao!"

Bang! As she finished speaking, the elevator suddenly came to a halt. Yaoyao's eyes widened in panic. "What happened?"

"Oh no, it seems the elevator is broken," Yu said, feigning helplessness.

Staring at his nonchalant expression, Yaoyao's brows furrowed deeply. No way… Could just saying her name have caused the elevator to break? Did she have that much bad luck? "What should we do? Let's call for help right away!"

Call for help? No way. How could he let this little lamb escape so easily? "No need to call anyone. Rescue workers will probably show up soon. Let's sit down and wait."

"Well, okay then." The two of them leaned against the elevator wall and sat down.

"So, Yaoyao, how old are you?"

"Nineteen."

"Nineteen, huh? No wonder you look so fresh and innocent." His voice was calm, but his eyes glinted with something more dangerous. "How did you guess we were from the PR department on your very first day?"

Well, because you look the part? She couldn't say that, could she? "I-I just guessed, that's all."

"Oh, I see. You're very lucky, Yaoyao."

Hearing the man praise her, Yaoyao felt shy and flustered. She couldn't help but think he was so gentle and kind. "Hehe, that's my job."

Too focused on her own happiness, she failed to notice Yu Aotian slowly inching closer to her… and the ominous expression spreading across his face.

"By the way, Yaoyao…"

She turned her head to the right, only to realize that he was now sitting right next to her. Instinctively, she shuffled away. "Wh-what is it?"

"Have you ever tried doing it… in an elevator?"

Huh? What?! Surely, he didn't mean…

No way. Someone so elegant and refined couldn't possibly say something so indecent. She must have misheard. "W-what did you say, sir?"

"Didn't catch that? Then let me repeat myself…"

In a flash, Yu Aotian's expression darkened as he dropped all pretense. The aura of dominance and wickedness he had concealed now surged to the surface.

"I said, I want to play with you in this elevator!"
