The man effortlessly caught her. "Heh." A teasing smile played at the corner of his lips as he leisurely pulled out his phone from his pocket. "Hello?"
"Help!"
Her frantic shouting came through loud and clear. Yu Aotian let out a devilish chuckle, shaking his head in mock helplessness. "Sweetheart, anyone shameless enough to call me for help is usually worse than me. Are you sure you want to ask them? What if they... join in and make this even more exciting?"
True enough, those who had his number weren't saints either.
"Ugh, shameless!" Yaoyao finally gave up any hope of rescue, glaring daggers at him.
"Aotian, what are you up to?" A voice came through on the other end of the call—it was Long Ye.
"Me? Just playing with a... 'kitten.'" Yu Aotian replied nonchalantly, scratching under her chin as if teasing a cat.
Yaoyao wasn't one to back down. Swatting away his hand, she retorted, "Then you're a dog!"
"Pfft. Aotian, sounds like this kitten's got claws. Did she scratch you yet?" Long Ye chuckled from the other end of the line.
Clearly provoked, Yu Aotian's expression darkened. "Long Ye, shut up!" His icy glare shifted to Yaoyao, and with a flick of strength, he pulled her closer, pinning her against his chest and covering her mouth. "Speak!"
"Uh, the traitor from Yulong Corporation has been caught," Long Ye reported.
"Got it. I'll handle it soon." Yu Aotian hung up decisively and finally let go of her mouth.
Relieved, Yaoyao quickly stood up and shot him an indignant glare. "What's wrong? Can't win an argument, so you just shut me up? Hmph! I thought you might be a decent person, but clearly, you're nothing more than a shameless scoundrel. Aren't you afraid of losing your job for doing such things in Bosson Group?"
Listening to her relentless scolding, Yu Aotian realized this girl wasn't just fiery—she was downright feisty.
"What? Nothing to say now? Scared? If you're scared, then don't act so shamelessly again! I'll let this slide today, but if you ever—ugh…" Her words were cut off as the man grabbed her neck, cutting off her air.
After provoking his temper twice in one day, how could she not have expected to anger Yu Aotian, a man infamous for his short patience with women?
"Little thing, if you want to finish what we started, keep talking."
His chilling, deathly expression and menacing tone sent shivers down her spine. He wasn't joking.
"I... won't say anything else. But you have to promise me... no more of this in elevators. And... don't do this to other female colleagues... either. If you agree... I'll pretend this never... happened." Struggling to speak, she managed to gasp out her conditions, even as his grip tightened.
But who did she think Yu Aotian was? An elevator pervert? His cold eyes narrowed as he flung her aside. "Fine. I promise I won't do this to any other female colleagues." You, however, are an exception.
With that, he strode to the tightly shut elevator doors. A slight pull from his hand, and they slid open with ease.
What immense strength...
The more Yaoyao thought about it, the more terrified she became. What would have happened if that call hadn't come through? No one could say...
As Yu Aotian stepped out of the elevator, he could feel her sigh of relief from inside.
"Heh…" A wicked smirk tugged at his lips. He was starting to find this little thing increasingly amusing. Simply "devouring" her all at once would be such a waste.
"Little thing, don't be in such a rush. The days ahead are only going to get more nerve-wracking for you." With that, his mischievous expression vanished, replaced by a chilling calm.
