The minute the Alpha announced to his pack that he had been bested by Saoirse and Sirius, the pack was interested in who these people were.
Saoirse felt her face go a bit red as everyone turned to look at them. Sirius took her by the hand and it calmed her nerves a bit. His aura warmed her and she stood up straighter.
The man close to Sirius folded his arms, already having a bad impression of him, he definitely wanted to challenge him. He was the first one to step forward.
"I challenge the new Alpha!" He said with a dark brooding expression on his face. He set his daughter down and morphed into a brown wolf, fur exploding over his body with savage speed as his front paws hit the floor heavily. He bore his fangs and let out a growl; his yellow eyes glinting with a feral intensity.
Sirius regarded the man calmly. With a fluid motion, he got on all fours too, his fingernails sharpened and a black bushy tail dramatically erupted behind him, lashing at the air like a whip. But he didn't transform further.
Instead, he smiled.
It wasn't his sweet toothy smile he gave Soairse all the time, instead, a dangerous, fanged smile crossed his face, his fangs elongating even more than they usually did.
Everyone gasped.
"That man…. he's a vampire!" Someone whispered in a trembling voice. Worried murmurs erupted from the crowd. People looked at Linus. Did he know about this man's identity? Linus didn't flinch. A faint smile played on his lips as if he knew the outcome.
"I'll kill you, you outsider! The man said when he saw this, you bring shame upon our race, you reject. I will not let a person who couldn't even make it to Valhalla lead my home! Come here and die, Vampire!"
The insult hung in the air for a minute as Sirius' smile widened even further, his jawline elongating unnaturally resembling a canine. The rest of his teeth sharpened. Still, he didn't fully transform. A chill ran down the onlookers's spines. What kind of a demon was this? They had never seen a vampire that looked like this.
Sirius, though before he seemed so gentle, had become a predator and he was going to prove himself.
The brown wolf lunged at him with a burst of fur and claws, he closed the distance between them and slashed at Sirius with his enormous paw. Sirius dodged it.
In seconds, he was behind the man, his claws slashed him on his cheek as he turned around.
The man let out a growl and then Sirius was on his back and sank his fangs into him. The power of the werewolf blood excited him. His pupils became black slivers in his red, glowing eyes, but he didn't drink.
He had only bitten him to cause pain.
The wolf yowled and stood on his hind legs, swatting at the smaller, nimble opponent, and attempted to pry him off his back angrily.
Sirius jumped off, then darted like a fox and slid underneath him, slashing his belly with his claws before emerging to the side of him. He turned around and darted, doing it again, this time slashing the other way so the man had an X shaped haircut.
"Fight me like a wolf or don't fight me at all!" The man yelled enraged.
"Like this?" Sirius sprouted wolf ears with a swift flick of his head.
He looked even more like a fox now, his paws were stealthy and agile. He built up momentum and rushed at the wolf again, slashing him with both paws this time across his side before rotating on one foot and slashed him in the face.
"Ahhh!!!" The wolf snarled, in pain, closing his eyes tightly. He stumbled backwards. Grasping at his face. Blood seeped out of the wound.
Sirius took the opportunity to slash at him again, but his powerful jaws bit down with full force around Sirius' paw as it had come close to his teeth. Sirius switched directions and got him across the face again anyway. A narrow miss angering the werewolf again. Blood trickled down the X that he now had on his face.
A few of the people in the crowd couldn't help but laugh, which made the wolf's face go redder with rage.
"Gaaaaa!!!!" He yelled at the fox. "Quit making fun of me, take this seriously!!!!"
Sirius ignored him, he continued running around him in a circle, forcing the wolf to turn around and around. Angrily, he began to get dizzy, but every time he stopped, Sirius would rush in and slash him again, grinning as if it were a game.
This wasn't how a fight for Alpha was meant to go. Sirius was doing things his own way. This was because, even though, clashing mid air with the man would be super cool for onlookers, Sirius didn't want to harm his wife and was attempting to receive as minimal damage as possible. He had forgotten to ask if this battle was until death or not.
The wolf chased the fox across the room, bellowing and snarling and attempted to corner him so he would hold still. Sirius' black paw danced off of his large nose as he leapt into the air and the man crashed into the wall.
"Olay!" The crowd cheered, imitating a bull fight as they were now feeling very entertained. They began to feel enthusiastic about seeing who would win.
Sirius darted around the wolf, laughing at the clumsy beast as he charged after him again. He was even angrier than before. Sliding to a stop, Sirius allowed the beast to cross the room and then quickly leapt away from the wolf's large jaws as he hit the other wall.
(Sooo I fell asleep writing this and I realized I spelled Olé wrong. How embarrassing…. And then my phone was dead and I was like, surely somebody is going to notice this before I can defend myself. Anyways….)
"Olé!" The crowd cheered again. Sirius slid across the floor, rotating as he did so until he came to a stop, facing the angry wolf for the third time.
But he wasn't about to run into another wall.
The bloodied beast tiredly panted as he contemplated how to catch the sly creature. The pack watched. The man's resolve seemed to be fading.
"Heh huh heh huh heh." His sides expanding and contracting, he panted. He looked at the crowd and then glared at Sirius' smug face.
This vampire was making him look like a fool.
"Gaaaaa!!!!" He yelled angrily. He rushed again and crashed into the other wall.
The fight had gone on for over 15 minutes now and this was starting to feel repetitive. Now only some of the crowed cheered.
"Come on already! He shouldn't be allowed to do that! He's just toying with him!" A man shouted from the crowd. "We want to see who wins!"
The pack wasn't ready to show loyalty to Sirius yet, despite that he didn't have a scratch on him.
"Alpha said anyone can challenge him right?" Someone else yelled, "then I want to challenge him too!"
"Yeah!" Objections arose from the angry crowd.
This encouraged the man who Sirius was fighting and he was able to get a grip of Sirius' leg this time. He crushed the bone and attempted to whip him around. Saoirse clasped her hand around her arm as the bite mark appeared. It was deep and painful. She gave a startled shriek of pain. She hadn't been expecting that.
Sirius looked at her distracted for a few moments and this signaled in the pack a primal excitement that aroused all of them to join in. Three wolves rushed in first, coming at him from all sides. This wasn't going to be a fair fight anymore. They considered him a cheater, they were going to cheat too.
Sirius side stepped like a shadow, and the one that came at him from behind clamped down his jaws. Instead of hitting Sirius, he crashed into another wolf who let out a yelp as his ear was bitten. His flesh tore and a piece of it was caught in the jaws of his companion.
They looked at each other in shock, wondering where Sirius had gone off to, but before they could apologize, Sirius kicked his foot, now the foot of a kangaroo, strait at them, throwing them back into the crowd.
More wolves got angry at this. Another voiced their anger, "He is a cheat! Let's get him!!!!"
Now innumerable, wolves rushed in at him. Every time he hit a wolf away; another would come at him.
Saoirse had never seen such chaos.
"Linus! Are they allowed to do that?" She asked.
Sirius was biting at the necks of anyone that came near him and throwing them away, but they continued to rush at him.
"I've never seen it happen before, but I suppose so. It's actually very interesting to me that Sirius continues to hold back."
Saoirse looked again at Sirius and realized he in fact was still half human. Sweat was running down his face now and he was huffing a bit as the endless horde came at him, but he was indeed still holding back. She didn't even feel his beast wanting to get involved. Hers was excited at the spectacle, but he was not overwhelmed yet.
His original opponent angrily shoved through the crowd, trying to continue his duel, but having no luck. "Get out of my way!!! This is my fight!!!" He shouted. Someone's foot landed in his face and he was thrown back. Linus noticed that at this rate, this would go on for another hour and everyone getting in the way was only keeping the original competitors away from each other. He needed to come up with a new way to solve this.
"That is enough!" Linus declared. "I've decided it's a draw."
