Yun Qingyue tried hard to break the broken steel handrail and although it kept bending sideways but a part of it still kept hold onto the the main structure.
Yun Qingyue was desperate and anxious and didn't even think about anything else but used every ounce of her strength to pull it and bend it towards her so that the handrail would break off from the structure.
In the process, her hands were also scratched by the pointed ends of the handrail and a few bloody wounds formed on her hand.
Fortunately, after struggling for a few seconds, the handrail broke off from the structure and directly came into her hand.
Yun Qingyue immediately turned around and saw that the veins on Lu Wuqi's arms were bulging and she knew that if she wasted any more time, Lu Wuqi would probably die and if she died then the zombie would come for the two of them next.
With this thought, Yun Qingyue immediately ran to the side of the zombie gripped the broken handrail tightly with both hands and hit it hard on its head sideways. The zombie immediately staggered and fell to the side of Lu Wuqi and Lu Wuqi was finally released from her position.
But the zombie was extremely tenacious and slowly started standing up after getting hit.
Yun Qingyue wanted to rush forward and hit the zombie again but Lu Wuqi stopped her because she has already seen the blood flowing from her hand which made her feel a mixture of different feelings.
Yun Qingyue also didn't move forward because she knew that with her weak strength, she wasn't much of a threat and if Lu Wuqi didn't take action then her situation would not be optimistic. She was also anxious because her little daughter was still left behind on the stairs and it would be a problem if another zombie comes from downstairs which would put her in risk.
Thinking this, Yun Qingyue immediately stepped back and stood a little distance away from them and looked back to keep an eye on her daughter. She still didn't go far because she had to keep an eye on Lu Wuqi for any other unfortunate accidents.
Lu Wuqi was almost bitten by the zombie and her beating heart still hadn't calmed down. She almost touched the boundary of death and couldn't help but take a deep breath to calm herself down and she was also extremely distressed after seeing the blood on Yun Qingyue's hands.
Lu Wuqi was also covered with the dirty zombie blood and even her face was covered. Fortunately, the wound on the Zombie's neck wasn't much big and not much blood spurted out, otherwise her entire face would also be covered with blood. Her shoulders also hurt a little because of the zombie's grip but thanks to her outer coat, there was no wound there.
The fishy smell was extremely unbearable. Lu Wuqi immediately took off her outer coat which was covered in blood and used the clean part of it to wipe her face and after that, she used the coat and came closer towards the zombie who was slowly getting up, immediately wrapped the coat around it's hands to prevent it from struggling again. She used her feet to press the zombie down, directly onto the stairs as she used her free hands and pulled the knife out from its neck.
The moment the knife was pulled out forcefully, dark black blood immediately spurted out but this time, Lu Wuqi was cautious and avoided the blood easily.
At this time, when the zombie was immobilized, Lu Wuqi immediately swung the knife at its neck and tried to severe it from it's body but it didn't work in one swing because Lu Wuqi couldn't exert more strength. She had to swing it five times in a row before the neck was completely separated from the body and the zombie which was trying hard to break free the shackles of the coat immediately stopped struggling and didn't move anymore.
The zombie was finally dead!
Even though Lu Wuqi tried hard to not get any blood on her body but she still got a lot of it spilled on her body. And even though the coat was taken off but her hands were still covered in blood and the stench was extremely unbearable. She turned to Look at Yun Qingyue and suddenly came towards her and whispered in a low voice,
"It's dead now, don't worry. Go and hold the child, she seems to be crying. I also smell extremely bad, it would definitely make the baby cry even more."
After hearing what Lu Wuqi said, Yun Qingyue also nodded and the smell was really unbearable making her frown the moment Lu Wuqi came closer.
Just when she was about to go towards the child, Lu Wuqi suddenly stopped her for something and said in a low voice,
"I- I am sorry."
Yun Qingyue couldn't help but be surprised for a rare moment because she never expected that Lu Wuqi would actually apologize to her! But she was more confused at to why she suddenly apologized and couldn't help but ask,
"Why are you apologizing?"
Hearing her calm voice, Lu Wuqi was a little at a loss for words for a moment before saying,
"Well... Umm... For the wound on your hand. I- I should've been more careful when fighting with the zombie and .."
Just when she was about to continue explaning as to why, Lu Wuqi was suddenly interrupted by Yun Qingyue,
"No need to say sorry. I didn't do it to make you feel moved. I had to do it for us to survive in such a situation."
Suddenly hearing her harsh yet logical words, Lu Wuqi didn't get angry nor did she feel uncomfortable, instead she only felt that what Yun Qingyue said was right and also felt that she seemed really cool and pretty when she suddenly came with the steel handrail and smashed the head of the zombie.
But Lu Wuqi still felt distressed by the wound on her hand but she was till dirty and didn't want to get the tainted blood near Yun Qingyue and said,
"Let's find a medical supplies first. There should be a emergency medical kit somewhere in the fourth floor."
Hearing her words, Yun Qingyue was a little surprised that she didn't react violently to her words but instead gave a simple solution and didn't even get angry at all!
She again couldn't help but think,
"Is this really the same Lu Wuqi?"
