The following afternoon Sylvia waited for Vernon but there was a guard who showed up.
"What is this? Where is the King?"
"He sent me to teach you how to fight."
"Why?" She responded trying to hide her annoyance.
"He said he would be the one that would teach me how to fight."
"Apologies My Lady."
Sylvia nodded, of course, he lied to her. It all seemed way too good to be true. After the session, she was heaving and made her way to her room.
After refreshing, she decided not to go to Vernon's chambers, he did not care to come and train her, so all she was, was just a burden to him.
She was a weak Queen who could not take care of herself, which was true but she wanted to change all that.
Now seated with him and the concubines, her body ached so much and felt very exhausted.
Sylvia took a couple of sips of her wine but she began to feel a bit drowsy, and yawned discreetly.
"Louis." Said Alice to her.
"What about Louis?"
Alice seemed to be taken aback, "I said lose My Lady."
Sylvia now realized that Vernon was glaring daggers at her, he was seething with rage and it frightened her a bit.
"Oh, I overworked myself today." She replied, trying to make an excuse, which was not an excuse as she truly was exhausted.
"It's understandable My Lady," Alice replied with sympathy.
"Yes, sometimes words slip up to another man's name, in the presence of the King," Celia added.
Sylvia sighed, this witch was going to make sure to rub salt in her wounds, she knew what she was doing. Was it not enough that she had the King's best graces, but no she wanted to trample her at the same time.
This night was going on for far too long for her liking.
If she excused herself after that Louis blunder, there was no way she would be able to live that down.
So she now had to concentrate with everything she had within her, and Vernon seemed to be clipped and off.
No, she was imagining it, and when they got dismissed, Sylvia got up and went with Maria.
"My Lady, aren't you going to the King's chambers?"
"Not tonight, I prefer my chambers."
Sylvia got dressed in her night attire, and began taking down her hair.
"My Lady, the King summons you."
Sylvia strived to think positively, he wanted to probably know how her training had gone this afternoon and wanted to see if she had any more nightmares.
She dragged herself into his chambers and he stood there, he looked scary. The door was closed shut and she jumped.
He opened his arms,
"What are you standing there for, I need to change into my evening attire."
Sylvia nodded, and went up to him shakily, and took off his robe. He was now left with his loose shirt, he was not stopping her.
"Do I need to command you to carry on?" His voice came out icily.
"No….." she stuttered.
She wrapped her arms around him and began to unclasp, she could feel the ripple of his muscles and his warmth.
Sylvia could feel the heat that was coursing through her,
"When will we finish at this rate?"
Sylvia jumped a bit and took off his top, now he was left topless.
She turned away,
"Why did you sum...….."
Before she could finish her sentence, Vernon had pulled her in and his lips landed on hers hungrily.
His tongue swept on the bottom of her lip, and he pulled her fully into his arms, her breasts felt full against his chest.
She struggled a bit but he was not relenting so she stopped fighting and let him kiss her with all the pent up passion he had.
When he finally pulled back, she breathed heavily, and fought the edge to slap him.
"What is wrong with you?"
"Are you angry because it's not Louis?"
Sylvia was taken aback, "No, and Louis has nothing to do with this."
"Yet during dinner you had no quam saying his name."
"It's not like that, I am very tired from the training and the wine put me in a slumber, so when Alice said lose, my mind went to Louis."
He scoffed, "Why would your mind go to Louis?"
"I suppose with the way the words sound similar and Louis is someone I'm familiar with, it was only natural for my mind to go there."
"I see, Louis is always on the tip of your tongue."
"No he is not, and I haven't seen him in a long time. I'm just tired, forgive me My King."
"Who dismissed you to go back to sleeping in your chambers?"
"I thought that, since you didn't show up to train me, that it was a sign you wanted some space from me."
"Don't lie to me Sylvia, that can cost your life easily."
She swallowed, "Fine, I was afraid that you would be furious at the name slip, so I thought it be best if you did not have to see me."
"You don't ever make such a rule or decision without consulting, let alone my permission. I will let you off today as you do seem tired but I wont forgive it next time."
Sylvia could tell that he meant every single word he said. The way his jaw worked told her that she had come off as lucky. "Thank you for your mercy My King."
She turned to leave,
"Where are you going?"
"Back to My chambers My Lord."
"You sleep here, with me, until I dismiss you."
"Thank you for your bounty and mercy My Lord."
She rolled her eyes inwards, as if she wanted to be here, this man was a tyrant, her not being able to do anything.
Kissing her without permission was fine but she be damned if she did one single thing that he deemed to be horrid.
"What are you thinking about?"
Sylvia snapped back from her thoughts, her hammered, to lie or not to lie.
