"No trouble at all," Yun Father said. "Although the sealing technique left by that esteemed person is powerful, it's incredibly simple to use."
"Wow, so simple and effective?" Yun Kong thought to himself, mentally giving a thumbs-up to Uchiha Madara for creating such a ninjutsu. But while he acknowledged its effectiveness, Yun Kong couldn't quite bring himself to accept the technique.
"Father, maybe you could use a different technique? I'm afraid this one..." Yun Kong trailed off, unable to finish his sentence.
Seeing Yun Kong's hesitation, Yun Father understood the difficulty but didn't press further. Initially, he thought Yun Kong was nervous about the unfamiliar technique, unaware that Yun Kong simply hadn't found the right way to refuse. After all, he couldn't exactly tell his father that Uchiha Madara was still alive, could he?
"Well then, fortunately, your father knows another sealing technique, although it's a bit more complicated, and might hurt a little," Yun Father said.
"Okay," Yun Kong quickly agreed upon hearing his father's words.
"I've heard this technique was created by a member of the Uzumaki clan, who was also the wife of the First Hokage. But back then, that esteemed person didn't think much of it," Yun Father explained as he stepped closer to Yun Kong, forming hand seals.
"Wow, hearing this, it turns out my family has quite the impressive background!" Yun Kong thought to himself, feeling proud for about three minutes.
"Sealing!" Yun Father suddenly shouted, activating his Sharingan. The three tomo in his blood-red eyes spun rapidly, almost merging into a single shape.
Yun Father lightly pressed his palm onto Yun Kong's head, and Yun Kong let out a sudden scream of pain.
Yun Kong gritted his teeth, his fists clenched tightly, veins bulging on his forehead. In an instant, sweat poured down his body.
However, the pain was fleeting, disappearing as quickly as it came, fading from Yun Kong's mind.
"Alright, get up. The seal is complete," Yun Father said gently. He had observed Yun Kong's reaction closely and remembered his own experience with this sealing technique. Back then, he had fainted before enduring it long enough to complete the process. Yet his son had managed to hold on.
Yun Father nodded to himself. "Looks like he might become a powerful ninja," he thought.
"Well, since the sealing is done, I'll head back now. Your mother is probably waiting for me. Keep the scroll and these books confidential, and don't take them outside," Yun Father reminded, preparing to leave.
"Alright, I got it," Yun Kong replied, eager to open the scroll titled "Chakra Extraction Method" and began reading it with great interest.
Seeing his son's focused expression, Yun Father smiled with satisfaction. Then, he suddenly slapped his forehead. "Oh no, I forgot to drink my daily cup of sake. I hope Keiko didn't pour it out." Flustered, Yun Father quickly turned to Yun Kong. "Stay here and keep reading. I'll come back to pick you up in an hour." With that, he hurriedly left the room.
Fortunately, Yun Father didn't forget Yun Kong entirely. Since Yun Kong had no chakra left, he wouldn't have been able to activate any techniques, even if they were handed to him. Moreover, Yun Kong hadn't even learned how to use them yet.
Yun Kong, completely absorbed in the scroll, didn't give it much thought and absentmindedly responded, "Mm, mm," without really paying attention.
The scroll began by explaining chakra: "Chakra is the energy extracted from all the cells in the human body. It is accumulated through training or experience into mental energy. Once the two types of energy—physical and mental—are extracted, they are refined into chakra. This energy is then activated through hand seals."
"In simple terms, chakra is the energy for ninjutsu. A ninja's physical and mental energy correspond with their stamina, converting the body's energy into chakra. The efficiency of this conversion will affect the practitioner's abilities."
The scroll then delved deeper into the methods of chakra extraction. Thanks to Yun Kong's nine years of compulsory education, three years of high school, and four years of university, he was able to memorize the entire scroll in about half an hour.
"First, feel the physical energy flowing within your cells," Yun Kong read aloud, getting into position and following the method described in the book.
Whether it was due to Yun Kong's unusually powerful spiritual energy or the years of experience from his two-room upbringing, he sat cross-legged for just five minutes before he could clearly sense the energy moving through his cells.
"Next, what do I do? Extract it! Where to? It's somewhere like the dantian." Yun Kong thought silently, quickly following the method in the scroll to extract the physical energy from his cells.
"Wow, that was easy! I'm a genius. At this rate, it won't be long before I'm beating the Third Hokage with my fists, kicking the Fourth Hokage with my feet, dominating the ninja world, and ruling all! Hahaha!" Yun Kong thought, exhilarated by his success.
"Next step: Combine the physical energy with mental energy to create chakra and store it in the dantian."
Yun Kong had already committed the next step to memory. However, after successfully completing the first two steps, Yun Kong found the process of refining chakra much more difficult.
First, when trying to maintain the physical energy, he couldn't activate the mental energy. It was as though all his mental energy was being used to sustain the physical energy, leaving no excess to merge with it. After adjusting for a while, he was finally able to maintain both energies at once, but the proportions were always off, and the fusion failed.
"Damn it," Yun Kong muttered as half an hour quickly passed. He entered Yun Kong's room right on time, only to catch sight of Yun Kong flipping him the bird towards the sky. "Is the damn sky messing with me?!"
"What's wrong? Can't you sense the physical energy?" Yun Father asked, his voice calm. "No worries. As a ninja, the most important thing is to refine chakra. Even if you have no other abilities, as long as you can refine chakra, you can still become an outstanding ninja."
"Usually, young people take about a day to sense their physical energy. It takes around a week to refine chakra, so you're being too impatient. Come on, let's go upstairs."
Yun Father said, before pulling the still-angry Yun Kong towards the door.
"By the way, how far have you gotten in the process? Can't sense the physical energy?"
"I can feel it, but the physical energy just won't combine with the spiritual energy. It always feels like they're out of sync. If even this small amount of chakra is this hard to refine, then later... ninjutsu, genjutsu, and all that—those require vast amounts of chakra. I'm starting to think maybe I should just give up on being a ninja."
Yun Kong lowered his head and trudged behind Yun Father, muttering weakly.
