The loud blasting sound of music could be heard in the club, as well as Nathan's voice who seemed to be having a good time of his life, with the strippers in front his face shaking their asses just to get him to spend his money on them. Dante sat down with a drink in his hand, watching and not participating unlike him.
He didn't feel like partying tonight, the only reason he was here was because Nathan forced him here. But his mind was occupied with something, no, someone else who was no other but Alexander.
It's been how many days?
A week since Alexander failed to show up for breakfast, neither was his presence made known in the company. He wasn't at the family house no matter how many times he tried to inquire from the maids working at his quarters, nobody has seen yet, yet his father nor grandfather seemed to be worried about it.
Especially his grandfather, if there's anything that Romano Knights didn't play about it was his money. After handing over the affairs of the company to his favourite grandson, Alexander was expected to show up for an emergency meeting between him and the shareholders, which Harry, his personal secretary, had to fill in for him, saying something about him been on a business trip.
It was all a lie.
There's no place that Alexander goes that he doesn't take Harry with him, besides, his spy that he has planted among Alexander's maid told him that Alexander hasn't showed up at the family house for ages. Yet, Harry was also at the family house, which confused him to think that Alexander was back there.
Something was wrong somewhere. He had seen his grandfather leave the house with Harry sometimes in the middle of the night, which aroused his interest to know what exactly the both of them were planning.
For a while, his grandfather had the affairs of the Black hearts to him, but that didn't mean that the old man was planning on making him the Don of the Mafia.
He has done everything that he can to prove himself a worthy candidate for both the mafia and the company. He got married and even had a daughter, although it would have been better if it was a son. Yet, that doesn't change the fact that his grandfather still chose his bastard grandfather over him.
If he rebels against the family, would it be wrong? To him, he was simply trying to take what belonged to him, which he had the support of his mother and his brother, Nathan. His father and his younger brother, Rocco, ate the only ones who didn't seem to side with anyone.
But Dante knew that as long as he's alive, he would rather die than to see his old man give what rightfully belongs to him to someone whose name isn't even in the family registry.
To get to Alexander, he needs to get through Harry first, which he already has a plan for. It was just a matter of time before he figured out what's going on between him and his grandfather.
"What's wrong with you? You don't seem like yourself tonight?" Nathan asked him, breaking the young man from his line of thought, to look at him as he sat down opposite him while he took a glass of wine from the table.
"Don't you find it strange?" Dante started.
"What's strange?" Nathan inquired further.
"I'm talking about Alexander. He has not shown up at work, nor at the trap house. Neither has he appeared at the family house for weeks, i heard grandfather paused the party that is being held in his name, about him being on a business trip."Dante added, rubbing his jaw while cracking his head to find the missing piece of the puzzle he's trying to solve about Alexander.
"Actually i came here to have fun, brother and not to talk about our other brother. You should try to have fun too, and forget about him." Nathan sighed , showing no interest in what he was talking about. He signaled the girls who were waiting on the other chair for his signal, but one look from Dante made him gulped down fearfully before sitting down on the chair to face him, now looking serious.
"Fine, what exactly is it about him this time?" Nathan asked, trying to be of more support to his brother. Even if the heaven were to come down to death, Nathan will always choose Dante over Alexander because the two are literally twins, who did everything together.
Despite Dante being two years apart from him, the both clicked more, they are birds of the same feather spoiled by their mother. Rocco was the only son that was disciplined and didn't show off like the other two, because he was mainly raised by their grandfather which made them see him as the boring brother.
"Somethings wrong somewhere and I'm positive that it has to do with Alexander. Grandfather has been sneaking off late in the night with Harry, and i need to know what those two are up to." Dante said, looking at Nathan.
Nathan was a diehard playboy, he had no interest in the company nor the mafia, but he's a hacker and he's good at what he does. Except that sometimes, his love for partying and women can block him from thinking straight.
He's more of Dante's second in command, although he steadily made it known to him that if he gets to be the don of the Black Hearts, he has no interest in working for him as his second in command. But for now, he's willing to do anything to help his brother get what he wants.
"Fine, I will get my men to tail Harry to see what's going on, are you happy now?" He asked Dante.
All he got back was a smile from him before he called the attention of the girls, who flooded his side.
"You know it's such a pity that you are here whoring around, but sister-in-law is at home waiting for you. What if the roles are reversed and she's the one cheating on you?" Nathan asked referring to Dante's wife, Nina.
Dante calls him a playboy, but he's no different from him. After all, he's the one that's married while he's free to do what he wants. But in the end, they ate their fathers son, their father constantly cheats on their mother, so it was nothing new to the boys.
The men of the Knights household haven't been known to stick to one woman.
"She dares not to do that if she still wants to live to see tomorrow." Dante said cruelly, which Nathan knew that he meant what he said. He had always seen him beat on his wife, but to Dante, it was him disciplining her to be a better wife.
"Oh! You are a twisted man. You don't want her to be outside, yet, you are here." Nathan laughed, shaking his head while pointing at his brother, who let a puff of his cigarette out of his mouth into the face of the girl next to him.
"Don't bother yourself about my married life, you don't know shit, you single pringle." Dante said to him, he yanked the girl at his side to kneel in front of him, before looking at her.
"Get to it." He ordered the hoe, who didn't waste any time to start unlocking his belt to give him head.
"And i don't want to know what it's like , why will i get tied down to one pussy when i can get as many as i want?" Natnan asked his brother, before pushing the girl at his side and came closer to the table to line up one line of coke.
"The party is just getting started, brother, we have tonight to ourselves." Nathan said to Dante, handling him a bag of coke over to Dante who took it from him. Natnan always knows how to turn up at a goddamn party!
That's why he's the best brother one could get.
The both of them had fun all night, disregarding the fact that their grandfather always keeps details of their every movement. Yet, Dante questions why he's treating him the way he does. He's so irresponsible, spends money lavishly and refuses to take up his responsibilities as a grandson of his. So, why would he waste his time with someone like him?
Why does he think that he chooses his illegitimate grandson over the legitimate ones?
