Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Don't want to do it anymore

The private club's top-floor VIP room was brightly lit, and once Wen Tang pushed open the door, she saw a young girl in a pleated skirt limp on Pei Heyan's body.

She quickly grabbed the young girl's wrist and pulled her away, then immediately sat down next to Pei Heyan.

Now there was still a small gap between her and Pei Heyan, but she calmly moved forward until her entire body was leaning against him, then raised her eyes to look at the young girl.

Indeed innocent, but not Pei Heyan's type.

"Little sister, being young doesn't exempt you from following the rules, you have to wait in line."

As soon as she finished speaking, the young girl's face turned pale with embarrassment.

Pei Heyan's expression was indifferent; he didn't care who was sitting next to him as he took out a cigarette from a soft pack on the table and clamped it between his fingers.

Wen Tang already had a lighter waiting, and she seized the opportunity to light his cigarette for him, taking care with a considerate reminder before she left,

"President Pei, you really should smoke less. It's bad for your health."

This comment seemed even more ludicrous in this smoky room, drawing muffled laughter from Pei Heyan's friends sitting around him.

"Brother Yan, your secretary is quite considerate."

"Don't worry about my brother Yan's health; he can definitely make you feel out of this world tonight!"

These crude jokes were common among them; Wen Tang was intentionally slow to catch onto these signals. At that moment, she was smiling as she poured a drink for Pei Heyan. Just as she put down the bottle, her slender wrist was pressed down by a large hand.

Someone had dimmed the lights in the originally well-lit VIP room, plunging Pei Heyan into the borderline between darkness and light, his angular face flickering between shadow and illumination.

The sternness between his brows seemed much milder after a few drinks. Even after seeing his face countless times, day and night, Wen Tang had to admit that he was indeed stunningly handsome.

The sole heir to the leading family among Qing City's four major families, the Pei Family, he had a pale, bewitching face and a high IQ, with an education from abroad—any of these traits alone could make countless people genuflect before him.

The cool palm of Pei Heyan rested on Wen Tang's wrist, his gaze fixed on the intertwined hands beneath the table. Although no other movement ensued, Wen Tang, who had been with him for many years, was intimately familiar with his habits.

She took a sip of her drink, stood up, and approached Pei Heyan.

Wen Tang initiated a kiss, their soft lips unexpectedly colliding, the fragrance of the wine between them turning rampant.

An immediate sigh arose from around them; the sounds captured Wen Tang's attention, and Pei Heyan, noticing her distraction, deepened the kiss.

The kiss lasted a long while; Wen Tang felt as if the oxygen in her chest was being depleted.

Pei Heyan kindly supported Wen Tang, who felt a bit weak, and stood up, holding her wrist.

"You guys have fun."

As soon as Pei Heyan spoke, the whole VIP room quieted down, and the person sitting in front, thinking himself to have a better relationship with him, quickly added,

"Aren't you going to play a bit longer, Brother Yan?"

"No interest."

Pei Heyan then led her out to the parking lot, which, due to the darkness, had very limited visibility.

The black Cullinan hid in the dark of night, with Wen Tang pressed into the back seat, the man's cold hand tracing down from her waist.

Although Pei Heyan was sparing in his affections, the only one truly by his side was Wen Tang.

Wen Tang had been with him since she was eighteen, and five years had already passed.

Through countless days and nights, Pei Heyan had become more familiar with her body than she was herself, breaking her defenses in no time.

Pei Heyan was engrossed when suddenly the phone on the table vibrated; he glanced at it and continued his engagement, letting the phone ring by itself.

From Wen Tang's angle, she couldn't see the caller ID, but judging by Pei Heyan's gloomy expression, it was likely another argument with Lu Nianxin.

It was only during their arguments that Pei Heyan would briefly remember there was someone like her.

"You're distracted again."

Pei Heyan bit her as punishment, making Wen Tang wince in pain.

After the battle, Wen Tang's silk blouse was terribly wrinkled, whereas Pei Heyan looked as neat as if he had just stepped away from a negotiation table.

Afterward, Wen Tang felt so weak and limp as if she had fallen apart; before she could rest for a moment, a few tissues were thrown beside her, and she skillfully picked them up to clean herself.

The next second, a jacket unexpectedly landed on Wen Tang's lap, and the following words from Pei Heyan made her feel as if she had plunged into an ice cavern.

"Get out of the car on your own, I still have things to handle."

Wearing only the jacket she hastily put on, Wen Tang stepped out of the car and a cold wind swept through, making her shiver, a self-mocking smile emerging on her lips.

Should she feel fortunate that Pei Heyan had given her a jacket before kicking her out, sparing her a direct expulsion?

The jacket emitted a faint scent of smoke, exclusively Pei Heyan's smell, but at that moment, she strangely couldn't bring herself to like it.

As the sound of the car starting echoed in her ears, the black Cullinan quickly vanished into the night, its departure as resolute as its owner.

Staring into the darkness ahead, Wen Tang's thoughts slowly drifted; initially, it was her choice to stay by Pei Heyan's side, no matter what, it was her own wishful thinking.

But now, she didn't want this anymore.

The name Lu Nianxin was like a demon in her heart, haunting her mind day and night, and her hatred for her grew wildly like a butterfly breaking free from its cocoon.

The national sweetheart in the public eye, yet behind the scenes, she was a heartless devil.

Wen Tang was somewhat curious, what would the reaction be if these fans knew the true face of the goddess they had worshipped for years?

She was somewhat eager to see that unfold.

When Wen Tang arrived home, it was already late into the night; she mechanically sat on a stool to change her shoes and made her way to the bathroom along the wall to start filling the tub with water.

The steam rising from the hot water felt like a breeze on her face, totally different from the cold she had just experienced.

Wen Tang skillfully took out a contraceptive pill from the bedside table and swallowed it with water.

Being with Pei Heyan for so long, he never cared where they were when his mood struck, and over time, Wen Tang had gotten used to taking a pill afterward.

Now that she thought about it, it was quite ironic.
